The Squad Mod 2.5 for DoW2 v2.2 & CR v2.3[Updated 01/09/2010]

    Um whats it mean when It says:
    Fatal Scar Error - Execution Paused
    Fatal scar error calling init function <>.
    Execution has been terminated!
    Does that mean that there isn't anything in that file that should be there? This is on The Lord of Chaos Mission I believe.

    I'll compare the scar file for that mission from Squad Mod 2.5 with the one that resides in vanilla now using WinMerge.
    It could be that a recent patch changed it, or that i simply made a mistake.
    The only thing i edited in the mission scars is the squad sizes so if i made an error it should be easy to spot.
    Remember.... no matter where you go, there you are.

    Can someone direct me on getting an older version of Dawn of War 2? This mod doesn't work with the current updates in place.

    Dawn of War is kept up-to-date via Steam. Ergo, it is impossible to get a version that isn't up to date.

    My Chaos Rising shows v2.6.1.5628, which should be the latest & the mod runs fine on my game with maybe a few minor glitches that need to be gone over at some point due to the mod being made for 2.3.
    What exactly is the problem?

    The mod installed fine, but when the second mission started in the campaign, an error screen showed up. It said, "Fatal Scar Error - Execution Paused Fatal scar error calling init function <>. Execution has been terminated!" Besides that, whenever a character was talking, the facial animations were gone and replaced with a black screen. Not to mention when the first mission was over, there was only a black screen where Calderis should have been.

    I was sure I installed this correctly. I'll try again and see what happens.

    The readme for this thing says I have to put the locale folder in the Game Assets folder as well. Do I replace the Locale folder already there or just place this alongside it? Same thing for the data folder?

    First off is my mod the only mod files you have installed? If so did you also download the 1.7fix files from the first post?
    The files & folders in the 1.7fix folder need to be copied to the DoW2_squadmod2.5 folder before installing to the game, then simply copy the data & locale folders from the mod to the GameAssets folder overwriting anything.
    I assume you've already added -dev to your game shortcut.
    Also what campaign are you trying to play original or CR?

    I was not fully aware I had to download 1.7 as well. Thank you for the help. I'm trying to play the original campaign, and I'm aware I have to use dev mode. Thank you, good sir.

    Fix1.7 is not 1.7 version of the mod. As the mod is over 100mb small additions & fixes are in a separate download for quick access.
    It does say this in the first post.

    Help please i downloaded the mod and put the data and locale folders over the ones in GameAssets and went in to steam dawn of war 2s properties and set launch options -dev but nothing changed except my characters had 14 points extra to spend each. I have the gold pack with both dow 2 and cr so i dont know. i also put the fix in but nothing changed except i couldnt move thaddeus squad and the captain commander! please help and notify me if i did anything wrong

    thaddeus and the captaincommander were in black boxes and when i rocket jumped they flew out but i still couldnt move them. in the character equipment menu it didnt say captain commander it said 9500024 no range. i have 2 options CR or DOW2 but when i press DOW2 it becomes CR anyways so maybe ill put -dev on CR instead and try

    I found this odd glitch that when Jonah gets one of the last two traits in the energy one and when he is being chaos the game crashes and this happens every time I load him. Apparently I can still play as him just not change anything in the squad load out. I think it is one of the energy traits as least because I was playing a different campaign and the same thing happened.

    It's not the energy traits, it's one of the staffs. Which one do you have on him?
    Someone did tell me before, but i've forgotten which one.

    I'm still modding Retribution campaigns when time permits & have done a lot so far. But it's harder than vanilla or CR as the wargear is setup for only single hero's so i've had to change every piece.
    Every mission for 6 campaigns is a lot to test.

    It was a chaos staff um I don't remember which one. I gave him a green one not the purple one it increases my ranged damage by um 30% or something similar to that. Also can you answer my question that is above on this page please. The one at the top of this page.

    First...fantastic mod I've been wanting something like this for a while!
    although I have some questions.

    Is there anyway I can revert the troops back to blood ravens colours? as much as I'm tired of the blood ravens - I like the campaign story.
    and am I the only person who thinks that if the Ultramarines are to be used - shouldn't they be using the specific 'ultramarines blue' colour?!

    I prefer to polish first then fix any bugs that manage to get through.

    Hi Jaylo:

    Just like to thank you for this fun mod. I've been playing Chaos Rising and would like to mention a couple of things. At end game it seems the Chaos Frenzied item drops a little too often lol. Not a big deal but thought you'd like to know. The other thing is the final mission "Foul Play etc." is pretty much impossible. The 2 tanks you get at the beginning have rice paper for armour against the increased mob count. Has anyone completed this mission on a higher difficulty with this mod? Once again thx for your hard work, it really makes the game "epic"

    Hi Jaylo,

    Great mod! Had a hell of a lot of fun with it, replayed the whole vanilla campaign and now working my way through CR. You really brought the epic in a way that I hope relic learns from for DoW3. Sadly, I am now stuck in CR, as both x10_vandis and x11_araghast have fatal SCAR errors on init as seen below. I've tried all sorts of things to get around this but nothing works. I've tried replacing C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dawn of war 2\GameAssets\Data\simulation\scar\proceduralcontent\quests\mto\x10_vandis\x10_vandis.scar with the unmodified version, and no luck. When I modify PC_Rand to return 0 or 1 instead of using World_GetRand I get a different error about an invalid index on the encounter table, leading me to believe something is buggered there. At any rate, if you happen to see this and can figure out an answer I'd love to finish off my CR game!

    Thanks again for a great mod and an extra dozen or so hours of fun out of DoW2/CR.

    i really enjoy playing with this mod. one thing i noticed in my game is avitus has all the blue bar powers, but 'artillery specialist' does not work. the buff icon does not show up on his traits list, but the traits before and after do show up.

    DOW2 Vanilla Lev. and mission reset!!?

    Hello I know it's been a while but something has really p*ssed me off. I was playing Vanilla DOW2 at lev. 20 (my commander that is, the other squads where around lev. 18-20) with your mod, about to defend Angel Gate on Meridian from the Tyranids when I decided that I'd save and exit, and do that mission the next time I logged on. I logged back onto the game the following day and discovered that it had reverted me back to lev. 7 and I had to defend Argus Gate again from Mek Badzappa!! (the first mission where you encounter the 'nids). As you'd expect, that's really p*ssed me off as that was quite a while ago that I did that mission and it had no reason to jump back right to the climax of the campaign when I was already about 3/4 of the way through.

    Could someone tell me if this is a common bug and if it's reversable?

    Also, can someone let me know all the possible reasons why this might of happened, without leaving anything out, perhaps pointing me towards a list a known bugs with this game (surely there is a list on here)?

    I shall purge them with both blade and Bolter! For the Emperor and Macragge!

    Presently stuck in Calderis. If I had any brains I`d have left long ago.
    Anyone know what the status of this mod is and whether 2.5 is stable? If not, what can be safely deleted so that the remainder is stable? The scar error mentioned above seems to be related to enemy spawning. What if those bits were erased?

    new patch has made mod unworkable for me. in vanilla campaign the mod caused me to lose all save progress at caldaris defense of capitol and wont work pas ice and blood, even not using mod causes failure.(if its installed) please update mod.

    Except for some fatal scar errors occuring when Imperial Guardsmen from droppods die, the mod is working just fine for me. The errors can simply be ignored by clicking your way through them though, so it's not that bad. Also, for some reason my Force Commanders and Avitus's squads don't get terminator armour, only Avitus and the FC does. Is that intentional?
