    Company of Heroes: World at War (V 2.6 compatible)...V1.1 Released!

    Welcome to Company of Heroes, World at War:

    This mod started as a minor weapons adjustment to make the guns behave like in COD, but evolved into much more.

    V1.1:

    - fixes all reported bugs
    - some rebalancing of OF units
    - the saturation of the tracers has been toned down so it doesnt seem so much like something out of a sci-fi film.

    V1.0:

    This version of the mod is at least 4x bigger than the previous version, with all the bugs fixed and TONS of new additions

    The current features of the mod are as follows:

    -weapons rebalancing
    -weapons reallocation
    -health regeneration for most infantry

    OLD VERSION



    it is fairly well polished, although the CW and PE are not as extensively tested.
    it is 100% compatible with v2.501 and incorporates all factions
    this mod adds a lot to the game and makes it feel a lot like Call of Duty World at War.


    To install:
    extract files
    put the CODWeapons folder and the CODWeapons.module into your Company of Heroes directory

    To make a shortcut:
    right-click on RelicCOH.exe and hit create shortcut
    right-click and go into properties
    add -dev -mod CODWeapons to the end of the target field (outside the quotes)
    done!

    give it a try and please give feedback:

    please note that all bugs between here and post #63 are related to version 0.8 and have been fixed in this version.

    Hey nice mod.
    I found that the kampfkraft centre can build tiger 205 at 100MP and 20Fuel, and it takes 5 seconds...Also it has no fire animation.

    Downloading now, I'll edit this post and let you know what I think. Thank god for our wonderful community (communism!) who can work around the constant interruptions by Relic. I hate to make comparisions like this but we're like the Soviet Union and they like Nazi Germany .

    Bouncing Betties? Are they placeable mines or a vehicle ability?

    This has got me very curious, especially to see how the russian units are implemented.

    @newBAUS - woopS!!! i had those there for testing purposes...forgot to remove them... just dont spawn them, i dont think the AI does. (it was for testing DF)

    @LD - bouncing betties are placable mines...although the requirements had been giving me trouble, so i cant remember if i ever fixed it.
    the russians are not really that well implemented, but im open to ideas...at the moment its a 3-man squad with PPSH's

    Hi. Good Mod my freind. There is no sound wat do i have to do. like picking on the engineers soldiers and the rest they dont talk. Can u pls help me out What im doing wrong?

    Its just u dont get any speach in it. And if u click on a building u dont get the sound affect. the normal sounds wen u pick on them as example rifleman or wen u click on the heavy armor doesnt say nothing. U can hear the shouting or the music but not more then that. Hope u know wat im trying to say. Thanks

    sound?

    i dont know why ur getting a sound issue... i didnt modify any sound files. maybe its just a problem with your COH in general...is anyone else getting this issue?

    great mod! I too have sound issues-you can hear everything except the voices of soldiers.

    i would love it if the triage center would have a medic that could follow squads around and maybe creating a couple of other types of units like I have seen in some other mods. I think you are creating a solid mod right now. Great job!

    ok i could do that pretty easily i think...just for clarification...would the medic be the kind with a healing aura or one that picks up casualties; because the healing aura would be useless...

    and what types of units would you like to see?
    there are really no other kinds of units from COD to base them off of, so should i just make up some?
    maybe take some from Specialized Production?

    Well the person running the NHCOF mod uses a 4 person British squad that kicks. Also he put in a Powell character that is a 1 man wrecking crew for the Americans. Not saying you should do exactly what he did but something like that would be kinda fun too.
    About the medic, I see your point-maybe if you could make the triage center be built anywhere in territory. That way you could reinforce in the field without retreating.

    Hey you can fix the speech issue by simply modifying your module file.Where it says 'SpeechManagerCache', you have put 'SpeechManagerWW2.cache'.
    Change that to 'SpeechManagerCoH.cache' and it should work. It did for my mod

    everyone who downloads it please modify it as newBAUS specified if the sound bugs you

    @MAFB
    those units are slightly overpowered and dont really fit in with the mod...i may bring over the Covert Ops Squad from Spe and maybe have some rifleman variants armed with varying guns like carbines and thompsons and garands and bars etc...

    @Baracus
    there simply wouldnt be enough unique units
    i may add some 'banzai' japs as an ability to the PE though...


    i already made it so the medic station(aka checkpoint) allows reinforcement...

    hey man nice mod, can't wait for some more features, i get the hole $101010 no range stuff though instead of text, any ideas?

    **Also just had another serious play and there's lots of room for improvement, i like the haystack bus idea, the direct fire sniper and AT need to be a lot more expensive im talking 1000-2000 munitions**

    **Wehrmacht only make the veterancy building and attempt the barracks, cant remember the name, and build only that tiger tank, the stag hound seems to shoot twice in fast time, then waits bout 2 seconds and shoots two again**

    **Weapons are more powerful which is good, but cuts the fun, there are no long shoot outs anymore** i like what you've tried with the weapons crews, but there always American and appear even after the crew have been killed. which doesn't make sense**
    Anyway there just what i saw off hand, I look forward to seeing more develop outta this mod, good beta.

    for the $###### errorss make sure u put the .UCS file in COH\engine\locale\eglish

    do you mean the actual direct fire ability, or just the sniper itself?

    i know the last stand guys are always americans...didnt have time to make 4 different squads...
    i could increase infantry health/reduce damage taken...but i wanted to make it feel like COD, where there are short, intense firefights

    Sounds pretty cool, one thing though, aside from the main menu, those screen shots show absolutely nothing.

    Nice mod! My experience so far, US riflemen upgrade well (10 munition stuff) except there are no icons for bouncing bettys, molatov cocktails etc. after that upgrade. I understand your COD reasoning for their kicking butt in a firefight.

    Brits, all is well except in armor command truck the firefly icon is grayed out despite having 3 staghounds produced from armor command and/or field command trucks. The Firefly is the only icon on that top row...? at least for me.

    AI, PE built only one building during 2 different games. This was all on normal play for all armies to get the feel of your mod.

    Also I crashed to desktop when exiting from stats both times, crash report and all.

    Interesting mod that I will play more of, thanks!

    the other screenshots are some of the garissonable buildings i made(there's a sniper in the tree)...there isnt any new skins or anything to show w/ screenshots...

    i had the crashing bug also...still trying to figure it out...
    also still working on BB's...though molotovs should work...
    there has always been a problem with brit requirements...at first i couldnt even build soldiers hq or armoured hq...i didnt notice the firefly thing...will fix it
    like i said, not much testing on PE and Brits, so i dont know

    i dont know ai coding, so if anyone knows how to make the ai ALWAYS get a perk for their units, let me know

    before I start suggesting, how will this change the vanilla game? I mean, I see the six man rifleman squad, but will that be changed? will there be new skins? will there be japs?

    I had the crash bug only twice and the other two times I actually had it go back to the main menu as normal. Was wondering if you could make the triage center for Americans buildable anywhere in territory instead of at HQ only?

    yeah mafb i replied about the triage center...its only useful for reinforcements, and the medic center does reinforcements anyways...but ill make it buildable everywhere in the next release, just for u

    BazzBrother....the mod adds some new units, but mostly its new gameplay mechanics: different combat, MANY new upgrades and abilities, etc.
    didnt you read the change list?
    download it and try...its not a huge mod at the moment

    hey yeah i figured out the $####### errors before, i was just tired a didn't read the thing o properly.

    yeah i mean the direct fire abilities, i love the idea but i just pump one out before a get any riflemen and basically have nothing good enough against me. make it a late game sort of thing, so at least you have to watch out for tanks and the like.

    I also would recommend a last stand guy only for the AT guns and 88's so that is doesn't seem so odd, having just takin out a 3 man machine gun squad to get owned by 3 Americans with pistols. especially when demo packs usually do a good job at killing first time round....

    I understand about it being close to call of duty but you have to keep in mind call of duty is a first person shooter where short fire fights get the adrenaline pumpin but in an RTS its not as adrenaline pumping having 3 seconds fire fights.

    Dont work for me.

    Steam Version 2.501. COH + OF installed , not TOV.

    In put the weapons and weapons.module in steamapps/Coh Folder.

    The language file in english/locale folder

    Then:

    "D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -mod CODWeapons

    and started this ^^ ..but nothing happens..

    Have the German Steam version---

    no...you dont understand... after 2.5, they moved the language file to Company of Heoroes/COHengine/locale/english

    ok i extended firefights...
    im gonna make the direct fire abilities unlockable aat the supply yard/krampraft or like 1000 muni...it would be rediculous to cost 1000 each time...

    thanks for the feedback

    ps. snipers in trees are one of my favorite parts

    if your meaning where it DOES NOT work.. then no, i just played a game with 2.502

    the mod is good, but theres a few minor flaws such as airborne losing their satchels when they get molotovs..

    and tarabas, i got it to work on steam.. make sure it was extracted to
    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes

    then have -dev -mod CODWeapons in the launch properties for CoH DO NOT make a shortcut for the mod..
    for launch options, select CoH in steam and click properties, then it should be one of the 2 tabs under "General"

    no usually the mods that are Y.Y0X dont affect anything, only when its a major mod that changes it to Y.X00 does it mess up mods...

    heres a longer list of bugs or things i found odd.
    1. Snipers HAVE to get flak jackets to get grenades, which makes them pretty much always have to use cloak (something i found odd)
    2. Pak-38s DO NOT have direct fire (bug)
    3. the extremely cheap tiger in Kampkraft centre.. (it also doesnt fire unless you right click, and AI spams them and uses them as MG platforms because of that) (bug)
    4. theres 2 "Panzer IV" units in the kampraft centre, one of them is also listed in the Panzer Command (with same costs) (may be bug)
    5. the Elite Sniper can damage bunkers (not sure if was intended)

    heres a suggestion, make direct fire an upgrade (in HQ) once each of the sides gets a certain upgrade (teir 2 possibly) for the snipers and AT guns, then have another upgrade that gives Direct Fire to ALL units at teir 4 costing roughly the same amount of resources as the 2nd upgrade in american supply depot

    Problems with German Version and the mod

    Hi,
    i got problems with the mos to work..
    i got the german version of coh with tov 2.502 working...
    I just installed everything as told but theres allways the normal tov and no mod at all.

    Does anybody know what to du with the ucs file in case theres no english folder and no english ucs file?
    Do i have to put it into the german folder rename it to:

    CODWeapons.German.ucs or anything else?

    i dont know about the ucs, but are you sure that you made the shortcut right?

    and that all the files are in the proper places?

    i copied the whole dir into my coh dir + the module file
    the shortcut is:
    E:\COH\RelicCOH.exe -dev -modname CODWeapons
    this doesnt do anything:
    E:\COH\RelicCOH.exe -dev -mod CODWeapons

    and where to put the ucs and with what name was my question above...

    My org ucs is:
    E:\COH\CoH\Engine\Locale\German\RelicCoH.German.ucs
    So what should i do with CODWeapons.English.ucs

    this didnt work:
    E:\COH\CoH\Engine\Locale\English\CODWeapons.English.ucs
    or
    E:\COH\CoH\Engine\Locale\English\RelicCoH.English.ucs
    or
    E:\COH\CoH\Engine\Locale\German\CODWeapons.German.ucs

    so anybody has another idea?

    the UCS should change whether or not the mod runs...
    what is in the folder in your COH dir?? there should be a bunch of subfolders including dataAttrib and data...if not, let me know whats in there

    does anyone have any suggestion or which skin mod to use?? im thinking of implementing one with the mod...

    OK now its working
    i had to change my shortcut... from modname to mod
    edit the module file: search and replace all english to german
    changed the name of the ucs file to CODWeapons.German.ucs

    and now everything works..

    Hi guys,

    I am new at trying to add mods and have been unsuccessful at it. The only mod I've been able to implement into the game is EIR:R. Anyway, I was unsuccessful in getting this mod to work. I extracted the files from the download and put them into my company of heroes folder. Then I made a relic shortcut with the following target:

    "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -mod CODWeapons

    It will start company of heroes, but there's no mod. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. By the way, I have TOV and as you can tell, my coh is from steam.

    So do I change the target line on the hard copy relic.exe file? If so, does it only play WAW:COH everytime I launch the game?

    ok so i've been trying to rework last stand and i currently see only two options:

    1. keep it as is, where weapon teams always go into last stand, even when blown up...

    2. make it so people go into last stand only when they become casualties (the guys lying on the ground who medics can pick up)(more realistic, but unfortunately it would have to be for all soldiers, not just weapons teams)

    so i ask, which way would you guys like to see in the next release?
