    Error: "nvlddmkm stopped responding" - Vista 32 bit - Homeworld 2

    Problem:

    Homeworld 2 crashes to the desktop with the error "nvlddmkm stopped responding" after about 30-40 minutes of gameplay.

    Windows Vista 32 bit Ultimate
    UAC = disabled
    DEP = disabled
    Compatability mode = Windows XP (SP2)
    Drivers = nVidia 182.50

    I understand that OpenGL drivers in Vista don't work so great with older games as they dont let the GPU handle the work directly as OpenGL was intended to work.

    Is there a 3rd party OpenGL pack I can use?

    Has anyone had this issue and resolved it?

    Your help is appreciated.

    Well, scratch that. It seems it was the drivers. I updated to some beta drivers and its working fine now. I'll give it some more time.
