    1100 pts Chaos

This is mostly a for fun from scratch renegade chapter which follows khorne. i personally am a modeler so i take joy in simply making the things, but my friends are trying to convince me to acctually start playing with the peices i've made so far.

    1122 pts total.

a few of my models are unique designed, which does cause some conflict but i simply shoe horned them into the most similar catagory and use that rule set... but since i'm not too familure with the games specific rules (in that i simply model the things) feel free to point out conflicts and problems.

my friends usually mount 3000 point armies and put more of a focus on infantry, but they still do have considerable armor assets.

    CnC is welcome

    Marines suggestions

I would get rid of the auto cannon on the derd and put in a lasconon or a nother multi melta what armies do they use

eh... Since all these are modelled already, there iwas nothing much you can do. tactically, it is a bit of a mess.

A Walking Chaos Lord? No bike? No wings/jet pack? He won't get into CC fast enough.

Upgrade your Skull Champs with a Power Weapon.

Give your Dread a Multi Melta instead. Autocannons are good on havocs and predators only.

That super-top-secret-base over there... the one with the giant statue of me...
Lets push this up to 1250 points, a more rounded value (although either 1000 or 1500 would be better) and giving you a few more points to spend.

Firstly, blood, he mentioned that they use mostly infantry, so the autocannon is nice and if your dread goes crazy then it won't be doing the heaps of damage a multi-melta shot to the side of a rhino or a plasma cannon shot to a marine squad would do.

Second, wraithguard, the lord can go with either berzerker squad in their rhino which is what I assume he would do...

    Ok, onto crit:

The terminator squad is footslogging, DSing will get them killed fast as they're prone to ranged hits, if you can't afford a land raider for them, I suggest against taking them, so nuke that squad and save 220 points. With those points, drop the PW and MBs on the lord and give him a daemon weapon. Beef one berzerker squad up to 9 berzerkers (including champ) and drop the lord into that squad and take them in the rhino, Beef the other squad up to 10 berzerkers including champion. Give both champions powerfists, that would allow defence against walkers and heavy targets like TMCs.

Take the TL bolter and havoc launcher off the rhinos and give them both extra armour.

I'm not a big fan of chaos dreads, they have a chance to really hit your own troops every turn if they're the closest thing to them, and what you don't want is two wrecked rhinos and dead berzerkers by turn 2. I'm gunna say drop them both and save 210 points. With those points, upgrade your pred to a las-pred and grab another las pred or some obliterators. Also avoid extra armour on the preds and get daemonic possession if you're really worried about being stunned or shaken, remember, extra armour only reduces stunned to shaken results, meaning you still can't shoot regardless, whereas DP ignores both shaken and stunned results but reduces your BS.

I would really look at adding more troops into this, in objective games you're going to be stuck, Plague Marines are lovely in games vs infantry where most of the weapon performance of the enemy can be reduced by the increased toughness and FNP; Plague Marines are also very good objective holders, being able to get huge masses of fire whilst guarding an objective.

thanks for the advice, first off.

things i've been trying to change/add
i've been trying to convert the two dreads to duel melee and some what mitigate the whole 'roll a 1, shoot closest thing' rule as well as keep the thing more atkin to the blood god devoted dreadnought which would be more focused on getting up close and personal with melee. but it is hard finding bitz for a right arm CCW. i'll probably create one from scratch when i get more green stuff and money.

i've been wanting to add a Chaos Land Raider, and probably will get one money permitting which is why i was thinking of deploying Terminators.

i have a handful of loyalist marine models from the AoBR box set which i've been converting into chaos and resently got a second CSM 10 man squad. i was thinking of making 1 10 man squad have a rocket launcher and plasma rifle while i convert the other squad into a +6 man Havoc squad with bolters, flamers, and meltas. any better suggestions for the deployment of these squads is welcomed. knowing that they tend to play Imperial guard/ork most of the time with usually infantry heavy doctrines i was just thinking a havoc squad with more croud control AI capability would be more useful than something with heavy anti tank.

as an example of customized models...
i've created a Khornite Chaos Tech Heritic which kinda goes into my chapters back history of being a tech based loyalist chapter before being tainted by unknowingly using tainted weapons and equipment made by a forge posessed by a khorne daemon.

however, i've been thinking of simply shoehorning this unique model as an Obliterater and use its rule set... i know this probably wouldn't be tourny accepted but among my friends they thing it is an awsome innovative idea that simply fits...

would 1 obliterater be enough or should i fill out the squad and make it a 3 man group?
