SS 1.2 Dark eldar in tier 4

So I just began playing ss again with the new patch in 1.2 with dark eldar. It seems like they handle fine until in tier 4 when there are fire prisms and tactical mobs running around when theres just no matter of guys I can put out under the cap lock to deal with them. I gave up on warriors awhile ago and my late tier army usually consists of 2 ravagers, the dais, archon, scourges, talos, and warp beasts with wyches. I feel cheated everytime I play against space marines because they can pump out so many guys under the population cap given there big squad sizes and extremely low pop cap on vehicles. Right now they are the only army I am currently having trouble with so is there anything I'm missing out on to really max out my army under the pop cap to remain competitive or different units I haven't discovered yet?

I also feel extremely shafted with soul powers like soul storm and corrosion. Not only do they cost resources to use everytime but they don't do half the disruption and damage it seems the space marine commander can pull out of his ass for an easy single payment at the sacred artifact.

Pop cap on DE machines has been covered many times before, as has lack of scalability on warriors.

DE are strong in T1/T2, so best to try and end the game then. RJB for the win, especially as they are 1 cap and so easily spammable ..

Dark Eldar are weak in T3 and T4 to make up for them being the strongest in the early game.
    Don't Google the question Moss!!!!!

So the only way I can stay competitive in late game is to not even play it?

    What happened to the scythe?
it's nerfed but it should still take a significant amount off their health.
Late game DE turns into an out and out wych spam for me. it works against my friends... but they are not genius at the game so...

Dark eldar weak in t3? WHAT?

wytches/beasts are the best base-bashing combo in the game. Tag the archon with them and rekindle rage, and you can take down HQ's pretty easily, even with heavy firepower coming down on you. If you're good about gathering essence in t2 (2x slaves gathering) you should have no problem laying down a soulstorm on two squads under Crucible of Maeldiction.

DE are my favorite race in t3 atm. Sure, their t4 is kinda lame, but their t3 makes up for it. The key is hit and run. Hit wherever the SM aren't. If they're following you in a rhino, lure them to your scourge and pop it, then ream the HB squads.

Yep, that's key. Even in T3/T4, you're not supposed to face the enemy mass head-on. Either hit their base, or hit an isolated part of their big army.

Soul Rend (the soul power spell) can disable all of an unit's abilities, in addition to damaging it... if you're having trouble against OB or WotE. Alternatively, Crucible whichever squad that enemy commander is attached to.

I know this is an old bump, and such things as "hoping for fixes" are pointless now, but I was thinking of the subject of DE late game and low and behold, it was the first thread on here.

Being that im playing SS again, there's a couple of things that have bugged me. First, how damn expensive a Talos is. You need loads of green for them, plus I don't think there are particularly good until you get the upgrade. Secondly....why are Ravagers only accessible in T4? It seems strange that DE have to wait till T4 for their 3 tanks and because of the expense of Talos, I usually bypass vehicles all together until T4, and that's if the game goes that long.

Moved to strategy, so if people choose they can flesh out strategies on hwo to use what DE have.

You actually buy the Talos? It is a worthless piece of machinery. It's slow to accelerate, gets stuck on scenery all the time, and when it finally reaches enemy squads, it takes 20 seconds to actually get into position to attack due to poor pathing. By which time it has already eaten about 10 missiles.

Some players say before Ravager/Dais comes out, mass bikes (with all their tier upgrades) and go LP2/gen hunting. Nothing can catch them, not even missile tacs in a Rhino, and a cluster of them takes out building_low really quick.

(I guess Imbacudas can catch them, though.)

I'm a nomad, nobody can track me, nobody can predict where I am going.
All I have to say is, Reaver Jet Bike spam, two minutes into the game. Yeah, it's not teir 3 or 4. It's speedy jet bikes that shred infantry and decap LP turrets all too fast for me to be comfortable.

That and warp beasts, those things are so nasty!

Well seeing as we're here, I don't think DE are suckage in T3 and T4. I do wish Ravagers were available in T3 but there ya go. Providing you have plenty of soul power, the Dark Scythe coupled with the Soul Storm ability is capable of wiping out most infantary in the game.

and we have a thread lock.

Bumping is not inharently an issue, when a bump provides no substance then threads do not survive.

If someone would like to start a constructive thread on DE or T4 feel free to do so.
