i always wondered why they didnt put walls in DoW maybe this will fit well maybe it wont but i sure will give it a try when it comes out, nice idea
the current engine dosent support walls and other line of sight blocking items per say unlike the COH engine which has all those things factored into it.. tho i am curious as to how this mod will function with out the ability to edit nopass and height maps in game !
Actually, I seem to recall that it DOES support line of sight rules for weapons, but (at least at the time of release) it required too much processing power and therefore was shut off by default. This is something that has to be turned on on a weapon to weapon basis, meaning going through each weapon to add that rule to that weapon.
Check weapon.nil for the exact name of the line of sight rules.

hello neilmarines, i've done a lot of this stuff in my own mod including walls, tanktraps, razorwire, etc and it can be made to "work" with some effort so don't get discouraged, i'd offer to help but im currently lost in the warp so to speak but i can offer the following helpfull bit of info, there's a block_line_of_sight_ext thats from one of the older versions of the game and through the use of that and some simple ability coding for my buildings ive been able to get them to work such that enemies cannot shoot "in" through walls but for better or for worse one can shoot "out" through ones own walls, pm me if you like and i'll try to elaborate but i have no idea when this warpdoom im currently trapped in will abate next, so please be patient RE: response times
