    Hello,

    I was wondering if you would release the weapons you made for the modern skin?
    When looking at the .abp I found
    --"..\\..\\Allies\\Soldiers\\Weapons\\SPAS12",
    "..\\..\\Allies\\Soldiers\\Weapons\\M4",
    --"..\\..\\Allies\\Soldiers\\Weapons\\FN_FAL",
    but I don't have a the M4... Could you please make a weapon pack?
    The NHCmod , a small mod that does a lot of things.

    Can someone please help me?

    I'm desperately trying to put the "Modern Commando" skin ingame (jungle camoflage). From the first page:

    I tried till 4 in the morning and am exhausted.

    Could someone put it ingame to make sure the skin itself is not faulty?

    Could someone please explain in detail, how to put a skin in game?

    I have never successfully done it for any skin I have downloaded (I always follow the installation instructions).

    Please, whoever explains, can you make it as detailed as possible? I've been modding coh for sometime, I just can't seem to put new skins in the game.

    What i've done is put the downloaded files into a folder:

    c/programfiles/thq/etc etc (something like that)

    When that didn't work, I tried changing the "animator" field to commando1.

    Still nothing.

    I tried other things as well, but nothing has working.

    I do not have internet at home, I have travelled along way to get to a computer with an internet connection, I am extremely tired and frustrated (so my post is probably full with errors and poorly phrased). I also have a bit of headache.

    I will be back in a few days to check if I have recieved a reply.

    Please if you can, give a very detailed post. I have to travel (walk) a long way.

    PS: it is extremely hot and humid, and I live right under the whole in the ozone layer (pretty much).

    PSS: Also, my coh of is unpatched.

    I know that skins works, I have it in my own private mod. Do you have opposing fronts or tales of valor, that skin will only work if you have the british faction in game.

    The skin goes over the british paratroopers as far as I know.

    Could someone please explain how to put a skin in game?

    I must be missing something, I haven't been able to do it successfully yet for any skin, even though I follow the very simple installation instructions to the letter.

    Do I require a program for the new skin to be installed?

    I am literally placing the folder I download, into: c/programfiles/thq/etc etc (something like that)

    Then I consider what I'm doing to be complete. It never works though.

    Are the folder names case sensitive?

    If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

    Each time I come here (to this house with internet), I get sun burnt very badly. Sunscreen isn't as effective here. I really would like to keep my visits to a minimum.

    If you can't figure out what i'm doing wrong, then could someone simply make a minimod with the british paratroopers skin changed to the downloadable "modern commando" green version and upload it?

    Also, that download of the "modern commando" comes in both desert and jungle, how do you pick which skin will be used?

    This why i'm sure that inserting the skin required some coding, as the game needs to know which skin you've chosen (jungle or desert), it's not psychic.

    Also, was that UN mod ever released? I really wanted to play that. It was mentioned on this thread (it uses some of Demos skins).

    @noway - believe me I know how frustrating it can be to get a skin to work sometimes. There was a skin-installer tool but I have never used it.

    Ok, I'll assume you have corsix mod studio and have created your own mod folder, to place the files;

    c:\program files\thq\company of heroes\{your mod}\data\art\models\races\commonwealth\soldiers\ place files here (it is the commado1.rgt)

    then you open up your mod in corsix goto attrib\attrib\ebps\races\allies-commonwealth\soldiers\commando.rgd

    open up the entity_blueprint_ext, and change the animator field to races\commonwealth\soldiers\commando1

    I have a small problem with modding skins if anyone doesn't mind....

    I downloaded the SS Grenadier skin, I merged the Data folder with the Data folder in Cheatmod, then started the game. I produced the Grenadier squad and the model was still the same
    I tried it with Blitzkrieg mod, same thing.
    I tied it with vanilla, same thing

    Am I doing something wrong? I have COH OF

    you have to link the model to the abp. file through attrib\attrib\ebps\race\(race_name)\soldiers\(soldiers_name)\entity_blueprint_ext\animator then link the abp. file to the rgm. file and then check that the rgm is linked to the correct art files

    Sorry for being a bother but the furthest I got was at the animator part. Where do I link the abp. file to rgm. file?



    (I was assuming you mean Corsix, so I used that with the little experience that I have with modding :o)

    you need to write the rgm/rgo filename to the abp, in example, lets look at cw_staghound.abp

    model =

    "..\\..\\Allies\\Soldiers\\Vehicles\\Gunner_50Cal",

    }

    this part encloses all the models that the Unit uses. Some elements have a "..", that means "return to a level in the filepath" and for each ".." returns one level. So the abp uses CW_Staghound.rgm located in the same path than the abp, then go the back to races folder and use "\\Common\\Vehicles\\Driver" and so on.

    Each element added should be represented as it they were being read from the abp location.

    I don't understand ..... I didn't even know what in the world you were talking about with rgm rgo abp files until I used the search in Windows files, then I realized you mean the files I downloaded. After that, I understand the ".." but that's it...

    So the abp uses CW_Staghound.rgm located in the same path than the abp
    How would you know that from looking at that text? I don't see anything that symbolizes the fact that the abp file is using the rgm file in the same directory

    then go the back to races folder and use "\\Common\\Vehicles\\Driver" and so on
    Go back to the races folder? Use \\Common\\Vehicles\\Driver? What?

    Each element added should be represented as it they were being read from the abp location.
    I don't see how any elements are being represented in that text...

    I know these things may sound completely obvious to you but I'm starting from the down bottom...

    ok place the skin folders in your mod file

    then go to data\art\models and then find your new skin and check what it is called

    then find that soldiers .rgm file eg for the commandos it is data\art\models\races\commando\commando.rgm

    in this there is a list of things these are the skin file links eg commando_diff, commando_gloss etc.

    replace these with the names of the new skins you have downloaded but keep them in order so _diff goes into the _diff section (also if the skin is in full colour like you see it ingame then it is always _diff type

    then save all of these then go to the abp. file of which ever unit you want to change the .rgm link to the one you have changed for your new skin (the .rgm link is the one that starts like "..\\..\\Commonwealth\\Soldiers\\Commando\\Commando",

    then go to the ebps of the unit you want to change and in that go to the entity_blueprint_ext then animator (this is were the file links itself to the skin) so just change the last bit to the name of your .abp but dont but .abp at the end of the name cause it wont work

    You will need to open that Greandier's rgm in Corsix and check if the file path associated to each line is correct (aka resource shall exist in that path).

    I have a similar problem with the ss grenadier. But in my case is not only the face, it is also the gloves. Damn, the skin is so great, too bad it doesn't work fine.
    DemoSS, isn´t there anyway you could make this skin in just one .rgm and .rgo??? As far as I can tell (due to several testings), the problem comes from the panzergrenaider1 files.

    Please take a look at ti if you can.

    Looks like the problem lies in the Coat RGM, i'm not a skinner so, if you are waiting for a professional fix, you won't find it here.

    However, i have this temporary fix for you, hopefully will fix both hands and face glitches.


    (ignore the gloves, when i took the screenshot i haven't checked them yet and it's late to take a new one XD)

    Okay, I've replaced the files and started the game, I still have the face problem. Is there supposed to be something done with dummy.rgt? 0-o

    The dummy file is supposed to be on that shared_textures folder. You were supposed to extract the zipped data folder on your current Mod's data folder.

    Dear DemoSS, i've been trying to use your repair sappers for my mod, i've set the blueprint but it comes up as a pink cube with writing when ingame. whats the problem?

    Perhaps you installed his "big pink cube with writing" skin instead?

    Actually, the problem may be the result of rolevariations. I think you may need to put a specific rolevariation in ebps, or perhaps remove one. I can't be sure, but I think that may be the issue.

    Hi,

    I downloaded the Modern Commando on the first page of this thread and successfully got it ingame!

    Unfortunately, the desert variant of the texture appears. I was hoping for the green/forest texture. The download contains both textures but I can't get the green one to work.

    Any tips?

    Have you tried to replace the desert camo .rgt texture with the green one? You can do this by placing the .tga or .dds in the same location with the same name as the desert camo and then in Mod studio copying it to .rgt

    Unfortunatly, the download does not come with any files labelled desert/green. Just Commando1.

    There are no .tga or .dds files in the download. Just RGT, ABP, RGO, MUAX, RGA, RGM and SUA.

    iirc because I had the same issue, I converted the two rgt's to dds to see which one was which.

    I beleive it is the commando1.rgt in the shared texture file that you need to keep and just remove the other one.

    It's great to see you back here again. Your skins have been the reason that quite a few mods saw the light of day - some public, and many private. On behalf of myself - and some others - I hope you are in good health, and everything is going well for you.

    If you do stay a while - and decide to make a further contribution to CoH - some futuristic infantry skins would be very much appreciated.

    But whether you do decide to stick around for a while, or not, it is great to hear from you again.
