Not sure if anyone else has this problem but when the AI builds a Grille, i get a Fatal SCAR error... i'm using Cheat Mod combined with this and i'm not sure if this would cause the problem

a couple of pointers that i have are one is that panzersherks are way to weak it takes like 4 hits to kill an armored car historically one shot to the side of a Sherman with a panzersherk could knock it out two the scout shot gun is a good idea but is very over powered at point blank all but the best infantry die in one shot perhaps give them a long reload between each shot (Also maybe add scouts to pe and brits)

Yea, just to reaffirm what was stated above by LiyodyBoy, I also get "Fatal AI Error" after playing for a bit. I too use "cheat mod" sometimes, but then I always have, and some earlier versions of EAW worked fine. But the AI Fatal Errors have cropped up in new releases before, The recent removal of the Bomber crews helped a lot, but don't know why

Hum, my error (Warning: upgrade in upgrade prerequisite doesn't exist) not corrected with British :
- After choosing at commander three Commando airborne, unlocking 3th lines and error message appear in warning.log.
- For this time, error appear after selected "upgrade weapon" + "tretrach" support. (i think it's just "weapon support upgrade" cause error)
- Game running very well, plane tetrach/commando/QG is ok, no bug for playing And game crashed after 30 minutes with no other error message.
note 1 : Using TOV 2.602 + 6.1.2 patch
note 2 : No error/crash with others mods.

I was playing yesterday with some friends, we use the royal commandos commander tree, as well as all other doctrines of every army. We finished all the games without problems.

Tested all factions and found this error with just British + this commander tree action.
All others factions/commander tree is OK.
And Using official game + EuropeatWar/Blitzkrieg/GrandeSP/EwigerKrieg/NHCToV mods installed.
me (and all my clanmates) can confirm, that´s something wrong with 6.1.2
all of us have installed:
coh+tov + latest patch
mods: blitzkrieg and europe at war
we didn´t get any probs with 6.1.1, but after installing 6.1.2 the game crashes all the time, if the british faction is ingame. doesn´t matters, if the brits are played by ki or ourselves. no problems in any combinations with other factions.
the games crashes most times after 2-5 min, if the ki plays brits or it crashes at start, if me or anyone else is playing brits.
any suggestions?
would be bad to stop playing eaw, ´cause this mod is actually our favorite and we are playing every evening/night
other mod or vanilla works great without any problems.
is strange, no one else reported to me anything similar, and I particularly don't I have any problem. I can only suggest that you may prove that all files are related to the mod is in your CoH directory, and that installing the patch 6.1.2, the path is correct and that overwrite everything properly.
I don't ever seem to get the bugs that I see most other people post. I've got 39 different mods installed and the only problems I have are with the one's that aren't 2.602 compatible. ???
well, couldn´t find out, what this had been.
after a complete re-install of e.a.w. it works fine.
strange: exactly the same path like before.
i believe, the 1st installing of 6.1.2 didn´t worked well.
note (by all of us): the schrecken-doctrine of the wm (->drache), the tank-doctrine of the brits (->halifax-bomber) and the tank-doc of the us (at-bomber etc) are badly powerfull. we are playing only stomp and the ki (expert) don´t have any chance, cause their base is destroyed in minutes.
it´s a bit to much firepower.

For this time, i'm rest with 6.1.2 version.

without an autoinstaller (6.1.3) at 1st i´ve to find out, where i´ve to install the files. tried different ways, but i couldnt see any difference ingame.
actually the path is:

I had a problem at first.Found that the auto installer made a company of heroes folder.I took all files out of that and put them in the main one.program files/thq/company of heroes.now it seems to work fine.patched to 6.1.3.
does it work with the new 6.1.3-features? -> no popcap etc?
edit: got this problem too. but with the 2nd install i canceled the company of heroes-folder while installing and the actually path is like my post before. but i cant patch to 6.1.3 (better: it dont work)
@Stygio Well nopop cap is there.The surrender does not show up.The main screen says its version 6.1.3.I may have to uninstall snd retry from the beginning I found a europe at war folder inside the main europe at war folder,so I had to fix that.I may try it from scatch. The game runs fine no crashs.

yes, there is a 2nd eaw-folder inside. this is the patch-folder? because its only ~30 MB.
but after re-install the same prob: patched and ingame only playing with 6.1.2 -> "no popcap" isn´t shown at options while opening a game and the main screen shows me only 6.1 (since ever), but patching working till 6.1.2.

@stygio I also did a reinstall I did it manuelly.What I did was unzip the files in my documents then put them in company of heroes.I also did this for the patchs.Should only be one archive folder one europe at war folder etc.The no pop is there for sure.Still no surrender tho.Havent tested the other things yet.Main screen says 6.1.3.Game runs smooth no crashs.Also I dled 6.1 then 6.1.2 then 6.1.3 overwriting each time should only be 5 module files.There should be no module file in europe at war folder only in company of heroes main.After you dl 6.1 take the files out of the company of heroes folder ,that was automatically put there.Put them in main company of heroes.Then delete the little folder company of heroes.Then you'll have to manuelly place the 6.1.2 patch where they go if then in archive folder overwrite them to your archive file inside your eorpe at war folder all module files go in program files/thq/company of heroes.Over write each time.Hope this helps.

now i got it. the prob had been, because i didnt deleted the files in europe at war without archives and locale.
now it works. shows me also the 6.1.3 at the main screen. also in game options i can see the nopopcap etc.

Hey i've been using this mod for a while now and love it!! It seems to work wonderful with next to no issues in skirmish. However playing campaign for "Liberation of Caen" "Tiger Ace" "Causeway" and "Falaise Pocket" the game starts and plays the intro video then the screen goes black and i hear the music but nothing else??? Is there anything going on here?? The first two campaigns work fine and i have finished them. I own all COH games through steam with version 2.602 and running EAW 6.13 These campaign's have so far never worked on EAW for me
I have actually tried that, and same thing happened. I don't think that would have been the issues. I have an i7 860 at 3.8Ghz and 2 ATI 4870's in crossfire, with 8GB's of system RAM. But i did try lowering settings to low everything or turned off. BTW thanks for this wonderful MOD. It's by far the best MOD i have used for any game.
So any idea's as to why this would be happening?? And actually forgot to mention when i start the tiger ace campaign it actually starts for about 1 second and gets a fatal scar error. this is with settings on full and when they are on all low and off

Hi there, first of all i would like to say what a great mod this is. I play a friend who is in Scotland (where i am originally from) and i am in the South of France and we have no problems. When you consider that i only have a half meg broadband (French Orange eh!_) that says something.
Anyway, I would like to know if i can play custom maps in EAW. I have placed sga and sgb maps in both the EAW\scenarios folder in the My games installation as well as the THQ\WWII\data\scenarios\mp folder and tried it with and without the -dev, but no joy. So can you do this and how please.

No one is really helping @Dartborne to track the issues.
He doesn't read minds or see the forthcoming events or magically will fix it, if he cannot get the bug in his version he won't be able to fix it thus, everyone having this problem need to upload his/her latest warnings.log from "Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\", scarlog.txt and ailog.txt from "Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\LogFiles" so he can read the error. The last two files have the datetime of creation appended to their name so you can easily pick up the correct ones.
And if you get these line in your log:
"20:11:02.30 Warning: upgrade in upgrade prerequisite doesn't exist"
"20:36:28.10 Warning: upgrade in upgrade prerequisite doesn't exist"
Means that the AI is cheatting and is using stuff without filling the prescribed requirements(e.g. getting upgrades from another doctrine). IIRC that should happen in CoH as well so no problem there.

hi i tried to play your mod its good but the AI degraded...
try playing 2 vs 4
you + panzer elite
3 american and british
all expert the panzer elite can almost defeated them even i just go build mortars or mg for support LOL
i notice that the AI doesn't counter anymore
unlike the vanilla where IF you build tank on german or mostly u have alot of tanks they will build alot of AT (the one american pushes which airborne supposed to be doing this alot)
or if you have alot of infantry mg and mortar they counter it with tank and snipers.
some spellings are miss spelled like in elephant's description ^^,
and ohh mostly we encountered this
whenever an AI tank try to go through the trench on multi-player it gives AI fatal error also whenever you capture american's howitzer and fire it it will do the same.
there are other fatal error but... i can't identify which is the cause.

Ok, well first of all EAW v6.1.3 runs way better than preceding two. I have had some really nice games, and finished them, some have had the odd "Fatal AI Error" but pausing and unpausing for a bit usually it goes away. Now I just found the new 6.1.4 patch and will be installing directly, (actually should be finished by now) and will be reporting back asap.

*** CONFIRMED *** Played a game earlier this morning 2vs 2 skirmish. I was Wehrmacht with a Computer AI partner Panzer Elite. Two American AI against us. This gets really intense, the Americans spawn Crocs that burn up everything in areas you aren't paying attention too at that moment. Never fails, plug up one gap and you never see them again....THERE!!!! But look out somewhere else maybe even in your Base. The second most popular spam is Rangers, with one shot bazookas that take out almost all armor with one hit. The most annoying unit in game with the exception of the Above Mentioned Crocs... Hate them. And then when you might survive, the Over powering Allied Air force arrives and shatters just about everything left. Now did I miss anything.... nope except played the same map and same settings yesterday but never finished because real life issues. Today almost within 5 minutes, I get "Fatal AI Error". Whoa, what happened, this never did yesterday. And then I spotted a GRILLE. The partner AI made a Grille, and the game went nuts. So I copied that grille for my own Forces, and sure enough when I fired the AI Errors got worse. I deleted mine, and watched my AI partner drive his toward the front, half health, waiting for it to be destroyed and went on with my game. The Errors persisted though and so much later I went looking for it. and found it still half health near the front lines. So I clicked on it and deleted said unit, and the "Fatal AI Errors" immediately stopped and never came back. Instead O copied two Wespe SPA's and gave them t my partner to make up for his ah..... unfortunate demise of his Grilles
So the Grille is 100 % the cause of Fatal AI Errors
I like the unit don't remove it but needs a fix
NEW Got another and checked my AI partner immediately but he didn't build anything, So I removed Fog of War and checked out Allies, one of them just built an M1A1 75mm pack Howitzer. When deleted ""Fatal AI Errors`Stop once more
(This is with new 6.1.4 patch
p.s. Do you think the Engineer Half Track should come with an Engineer squad, and be able to carry engineers into battle, please say Yes, this would be awesome.

how do I upload maps to the game
I did this :
-- SGB install --
1. Go to your Company Of Heroes/WW2/Data folder
2. Go to or create Scenarios folder in there
3. Go to or create mp folder in Scenarios folder
4. Extract the map archive there
5. Run your Company Of Heroes in -dev mode. To do so:
a. Create a shortcut of RelicCOH.exe located in your Company Of heroes folder
b. Open Shortcuts preferences
c. Add " -dev" without the quotes (Note the whitespace! Whitespace after the text present in
the field is required!) to the Target field.
It should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company Of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev
6. When playing custom maps run your CoH through your created shortcut
7. Enjoy! The map should be in CoH map list in the bottom

Hello, I have downloaded EAW from filefront so version 2.1. I try using the shortcut you gave us in the zip file but a window pops up named "Problem with shortcut" and it says that "the drive or network connection that the shortcut refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again." I've also tried using the normal COH shortcut and changed up the target to -modname Europe_At_War but it just launches the normal game with no changes. Any solutions?
