    Seb, to play with the Afrika corps doctrine, you have to play on one of the Afrika maps that comes with the 6.1.6 install. There is a two-player, several four player, a couple six player and eight player maps. On those maps, select British or Wehrmacht to play, and it will use the new content. There is no option to choose doctrine, it is automatic on the Afrika maps if you select Brits or Wehrmacht.

    The Afrika maps have "AK" in front of their name.

    Hallo...
    for me 6.1.6 version of the mod d0n't start... J have tried with the executable version from Modb and also installed with Desura (downloaded twice) with no result.
    The 6.0 version works fine.. J play a full licensed version of the game trough Steam (2.602.0), no problem with other mods like Eastern Front. Directory for file location is correct, have you a suggestion ?

    I still get corrupt file messages anytime I try to extract the mod with winrar. I guess I'm at a dead end with this mod

    Its bumming me out cause I enjoyed one of your previous versions and looked forward to this Dart.

    Thing is, I can't determine if there's anything wrong with winrar since its been working fine to this point with other compressed file formats. In either case, I'll try out 7-zip. As I mentioned before (didn't check to see if it got wiped from the thread as I write this lol) NHC mod responded the exact same way, but it worked on the third download (uncompressed and install) attempt. It may be a Windows 7 issue with the program, not sure.

    it could also be a Internet issue, try using a Download Manager i used to have the same problem with Large files but after the Download Manager they all seem to work with no problems

    Dartborne, you need to weaken the effect of the explosion. Too big effect. A lot of guns does not use ammo. I have already repeatedly wrote about it, but you ignore. Balance in the mod - no.


    Sherman Calliope - just a terrible shot!

    Artillery fires are not wasting ammo. At the same time very often.

    Dartborne, artillery isn't absolutely balanced. It is necessary to spend ammo for firing.
    Firing of artillery can't be free.

    I finally managed to get 615 working and I played the joint ops D-Day map, good work, very fun. So far no hangups with any of the factions I played so far, so I'm wondering what's different with 616. I downloaded from the link on the original first post of the thread. If its not the right one, you should probably edit that first post Dart.

    @DrCh dartborne can't really do anything about it. It looks like you have something similar to the ENB mod on. Turn it off and it'll be fine. What does this have to do with balance btw?

    So I downloaded the mod and had some problems at first with it crashing but I finally ironed that all out. Now however I'm having another issue, I can't get custom maps too work. I'm downloading them into the EAW folder and launching it from Steam ToV with the launch property -dev -Europe_At_War but when the game starts and I go into the skirmish screen there isn't any of the maps I've downloaded and I was wondering if anyone could help me.

    For some reason Europe at War uses its own maps folder. In its module file there should be an entry near the top that says ScenarioPackFolder. Change that so its value is "WW2\Scenarios", no quotes.

    This is another drawback mod. I also did not like it.

    This, people. Dartborne set Europe at War up to use its own scenario folder through an entry in its module file, or at least that's the way it was last time I checked. Assuming he didn't alter it, the ScenarioPackFolder entry in his module file should read "WW2\Europe_At_War\Scenarios". Change that to "WW2\Scenarios" and your maps should work.

    Here's the thing though, my Europe at War map folder isn't named that. It's under my documents\my game\company of heros\europe at war\ and then scenarios yada yada. I put them in there, ran it off of tov with -mod name -dev and still nothing.

    Well, like I said, it has been a while since I checked. Last I noticed of this issue was of my 6.1.0 install that I fixed, so it is entirely possible Dartborne altered it since then. I haven't really been keeping up with this mod since Dartborne's installers are buggy and don't install properly.

    I followed the directions I was given when someone else asked about custom maps with the mod. Near as I can tell, I did not have to alter the shortcut that came with 616, and all I did was find the my documents/company of heroes/eaw mod folder, under that to scenarios and copy-pasted the maps I wanted in there and they showed up.

    On a different subject with the mod...I thought the airborne doctrine had some anti-air stuff. Is the .50cal gun nest gone, or am I forced to play victory points to see everything? Was just in a game and I saw the receiving end of whatever the German fly over thing is, (playing on infantry only, since the tank only stuff seems overpowered just a bit...doesn't go well with the current resource flow I find). Boy did they spam the planes. They seem to like to target any building I made into an HQ, as well as anti tank guns, mortars, any emplacement as well as vehicles.

    Its the Henschel thing on steroids heh.

    Anyway, just that one major thing with the airborne...playing infantry only, the call-ins you get etc., its lacking I dunno, a half track converted to quads or something. Perhaps for starters, make the starting defenses at the base AA Bofors maybe. Could counter on some level the plane spam the mod currently has.

    I can also confirm that Sando's map crashes. I wish his map had the description filled in as does a lot of Henry's and Manny's maps do, if there has to be specific conditions for running it properly. A mixed arrangement on both sides doesn't work. gonna try plain 'ol Wehr and U.S. All slots were filled btw.

    Edit: My apologies to Sando, I see that he did include a layout. I had mistaken the green numbers to mean that's the side that you choose when its the opposite. If you toggle the "random/fixed" option, you'll see the map directions.

    Edit 2: Seems that it makes you play as the PE in this map as well. That time around there were no problems. Just a tip, if you play as allies, it'll crash. Also note, if you accidentally put yourself on the wrong side of the map as axis, you'll know you goofed when the damaged Tiger shows up on your side of the map in the beginning

    I encountered a British captain in my recent game that appeared to have superpowers at level 3 veteran. Snipers, flamethrowers, artillery or mortars didn't do anything. I was playing 2 Wehr/2 PE vs 2 Brit and 2 U.S. on the 4v4 Ithaca map. I suppose I shouldn't have dragged out my game so long that I'd come across a lvl 3 captain huh?

    its a bug. in vet2 the captain receives a 20% evasion, the worse it seems to make him invulnerable.

    Like the addition of N.Africa but I noticed that the AI Germans never build armor. They use air attacks alot but no tanks so it seems really easy to defeat them.
    Do love the new British tanks though!

    If you could as well, could you not make the dead bodies stay part of the mod not stay so long?

    Granted, I drag my games out sometimes (and this is probably a worst case scenario - mainly to stockpile resources so I can go build crazy), but on the campaign map for the British, the first mission in Caen - Into the City, I let the map run a couple days on and off.

    There's a choke point to the right and above the base area where the AI keeps spamming infantry and panzer tanks, near the fuel point there. The cluster of bodies in that corner area wasn't an issue until I had saved and then reloaded the game, they just appeared. Anyway, it keeps redirecting vehicles and infantry around that pile to go in a different direction.

    I should note that on this map in particular, I hadn't captured the VPs yet...I delay that as long as possible so I can get my fortifications up before the next phase of the mission and mine the heck out of everything.

    So I'm wondering if there's a way, either by minimizing the length of time bodies stay in the next version, or at the very least, find out if there is a way that they don't obstruct any path finding from other units. Maybe all I have to do is turn down graphics, not sure though.

    P.s. Did you fix that Fatal AI Error with the British Anti Tank Halftrack ? Also don't know why but the Mg-42 and Mg-34 on Tri-pods do not show up in my game as of last update. They always have but not now, Even when you spawn them with Cheat Mod. They are there but you cant see them. The Upgrade of lmg 34 or 42 for Squads is fine ??

    I have to say I have been a EAW follower for along time now. I must say that this mod has a great AI compared to most mods out there (cough, blitzkrieg...)

    I just have one suggestion though concerning some of the call ins and there prices, and what you get from them. For instance the US defensive call in (the one with all the tanks and half tracks.) is really cheap, I cannot remember the exact price. But I play MP now and then in your mod depending if I can find a game. People always spam the call in and its so cheap and you get 6 tanks and 2 half tracks loaded with infantry.

    Just my one big concern, its not game breaking but maybe should have a look at. As the WE defensive call in(the tank one) is what the US defensive doctrine tank call in should be. 2 tanks and a half track. Or in the German case 2 tanks and flak panzer.

    I'm getting weird problems from time to time where the game would pause and lock up, where an alt-tab or only a threatening ctrl-alt-delete/task manager query seems to unfreeze the problem (you basically call up task manager, but don't shut the game down, instead alt tabbing back into the game).

    I can't be certain what the trigger is for this...could be all the excessive pausing and un-pausing I'm doing, could be specific instances where the game has been running a long time (in my case lol), excessive butterfly bombs all over the place or mine fields. Curious as to whether the game wants to render something and my processor can't keep up or what. I've played with the graphics settings and right now they seem to be ok. If I go any lower, I risk only seeing shadows of units and not the units

    I have 4 HD Readons 7670's and it stil does that, I have all settings at ultra and the memory usage bar has no green. I always thought of it as an AMD thing, but I guess not since your using a Nvidia card.???
