    Europe at War v6.1.7 Announced new front!



    What is "Europe at War"?

    EaW is a modification for Company of Heroes that adds a variety of new abilities, units, vehicles and weapons that immersed the player in a gaming experience much more realistic.
    Weapons with damage more realistic, fighting tank where matter more quality than quantity, bombing on a large scale with tens of Halifax in the air...

    EaW us is situated on a European stage from the beaches of Normandy to Dutch Tulip fields, allows the player to dispose of resources to resolve any situation regardless of his doctrine: are all different but very complete. The user can combat online with other fans of EaW, fight together in cooperative missions imported from "jointops", direct landings on omaha Beach, or turn it into a fortress…Infantry, urban combat, tanks, artillery preventive, ambushes, air strikes, larges offensives…

    Now also moved to africa, in the desert is fought great and decisive battles. Take command of DAK or Desert Rats!

    Command trees have increased from 6 to 16 improvements, adding all the doctrines a varied armoury that allows you to resolve any situation

    Allows you to enjoy new experiences of game: is 100% compatible with the single-player campaigns, including the CoH: Joint operations cooperative missions and is playable in online multiplayer and map 2vs2 representing omaha beach during the D-day "EaW:d-day"

    go to the "locale" folder and remove the most little file

    was only one file in english folder. only folder that had 2 was the chinese english??

    I can recommend is that reinstall it everything and overwrite to extract the patch.

    Hi Dartborne same problem here on a French TOV 2.600 installation ...
    I'd read the installation procedure and applied it but no joy.
    Only one ucs file in the locale French folder 36.9 Kbyte sized

    Delete the" locale" folder and paste the folder that includes the patch instead

    figured it out the locale .ucs file is knakered in both the origional and the patch. sorted it out by deleting the bottom 6 keys of the ucs which were blank and closed any gaps up between keys and text and it worked straight away.

    having now played it, its excellant , very well made and great fun. havent tried axis yet but allies and brit were awesome.

    just noticed same problem as africa korps mod. the brit hq trucks dont deploy, i think you used epbs and sbps from pre tov trucks, youll probebly have to use origional tov trucks and add your edits to those instead. apart from that the mods fine.

    Just a Little question is there a way to play with the sga maps installed in the C:\Users\Eole\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\scenarios path, I tried the -dev option in my shortcut but I didn't see the installed maps in the game.

    just copy the maps you want to use from:

    C:\Users\Eole\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\scenarios\

    to:

    C:\Users\Eole\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\europe_at_war\scenarios\

    they will then all show up ingame, its a bit of a pain if you have 3 gig of maps like i do, but it works

    Hi Dartborne,

    I have just downloaded, installed, and played a couple of scenarios with the Europe at War mod. And I have to say it has been a very satisfying experience. Nothing has been overdone (in my opinion), every unit has been well thought out, and the new features/abilities/squad sizes seem to be mostly right on the money.

    The only bug I have seen so far, is an enemy soldier (part of an allied engineer squad) who seemed to get stuck outside a building (when the rest of the squad was actually inside the building), and wouldn't die - my troops wouldn't even shoot at him anymore (so he must have been dead - and the game engine just forgot to tell him to die). So I think this is simply just a glitch, initiated by the game engine itself, and nothing to do with the mod.

    Everything I have seen so far seems to work just fine. My only criticism revolves around some of the squad sizes that have remained a bit on the small side (only my personal preference). Like the basic engineer squads, and definitely the panzer grenadier squad. The Wehrmacht grenadier squad could also have been a little larger for my liking.

    I also particularly like the model skins you have chosen to use. They are very suitable. The Panzer Grenadier, Luftwaffe ground troops, and Fallschirmjaegers, are my favourites.

    Even though I don't like getting beaten up by the enemy artillery, I quite like to use it for supporting my own troops. Recharge time seems fairly good. And I really like the WH howitzer pit. One that you could shove a couple of mortar teams inside would be excellent. The weapon ranges, that I have witnessed so far, seem to be well thought out also.

    With only a couple of games under my belt, I can't comment too much more at this stage. But initial impressions are excellent. I will keep using the mod - and look forward to any updates you may post.

    which version of coh (OF or TOV) this mod is for?
    i can't get it to work..CTD soon after the splash screen loads.

    are the EAWOPS.module (and its folder) and EAWDLC1.module (to EAWDLC3) required for this mod? just curious about it..seems to be abnormal files for a mod (which is usually include a module, and a folder)

    All latest patched mods run those modules, 5 in total. The modname.Module, DLC1, DLC2 and DLC3, also a modname OPS.Module. and the EAW is of course his abbreviated mod

    Hello Dartborne,

    I have been playing some more with the mod. I find that playing as the PE is a very hard task. They seem to be underpowered. Allies build lots of ranger squads, and they are very hard to take down.

    I love playing as Wehrmacht though. And I love the excellent variety of units that you have given to the Allies and WH.

    I can't wait to have a go at the next version.

    Will you add the sound effects from the afrika korps mod in this mod? The sound effects were great, and I hope this mod will also have them , the sounds are so much better than regular coh , and make the different weapons just sound more realistic.

    Also I hope you will make the flak 88 range as it was in normal coh range , it seemed in Afrika korps the 88 range was a bit shorter than usual.

    Great job in implementing the new expanded commander trees , this just adds so many more possibilities.

    keep up the good work, this looks like it will be a great mod, just like your afrika korps mod

    ok change of question can u plz help me mine wont start and have dne wvrything that has been suggested as well as unistalling all other mods even to the extent as to remove the game and reinstall it and it wnt work

    When you say it wont start do you mean it gives you a crash? or that it wont even recognize that the game has started?

    EDIT: I am guessing you mean it crashes... as it does that for me

    @ Dartbone: Downloaded your mod yesterday and played two games as Wehrmacht. Great work! Although I figured out 2 things:

    1. When I built the T3 building, a pair of engineers appeared, which I'm not able to control. I don't know if they are intended / killable by the enemy.

    2. The repair bunkers do nothing, if a damaged vehicle is nearby. I tried to give repair orders to the engineers of this bunker, but that didn't work either. Is there any trick, that I have to do?

    Everything else works fine considering Wehrmacht. One of the best mods I've played. Sometimes it reminds me when I played the "K-Mod: Nations at War"-modification back in the days...

    -The flak 36 88 mm range is the normal.

    -If I have found the mistake of HQ trucks and is already fixed. In the new version you are ready.

    -the repair engineers are bugged...it is a unknow error.

    so i downloaded it and i honestly have no idea what i'm doing. i tried extracting to my COH folder but it gave me some access denied bs. i use windows vista. if anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

    i used to use this mod before i installed vista. i gotta say its a great mod. so i downloaded it and its on my desktop as a WinZip file. So i went tried extracting the files to my COH folder and it said access denied, Administrative Privelegdes may be required. Well i'm under the administrator profile. So i was was wondering if you or anybody else that knows Windows Vista can help me install this mod.

    Run whatever program you're using to unzip the file as administrator. You can do this by right clicking on the program shortcut and selecting Run as administrator.

    Mate, I'll use the 76mm when you release them, or is it already in the mod? I am not really satisfied with the 75mm Pak 40 though. It looks somewhat odd. By the way, does the animation look good on the 76mm?


    Could you please wrap all screenshots in spoilers and maby scale them down a bit? Although I got very fast internet it is really annoying sometimes...

    I would add these ATG in the new version I am preparing. I would also like to add new models of the Wespe and the M36 tank destroyer.
