    Renegade Guardsmen... with pictures

To start i will tell you the reason for this blog. My friend and I have decided to start a campaign, where my guardsmen have regected the emperor's word and some sisters and there inquisition friends have come to give my army a good arse kicking. To show my guardsmen slowly turning away from the emperor i will be fielding more and more traitorous guardsmen as the campaign develops. Some of you may be asking "if he isnt with the imperium, where is he going to go?" and the answer is very simple.... dum dum dum... CHAOS!!! muhahahaha
    *cough*
Anyways i have finished up one squad of traitors and the other squad will soon follow suit
Ladies and gentleman, without further ado... the pictures

    A finished TT quality squad

An assembled squad (two guys missing in the picture)

Crazy seargent with a chainsaw on a stick :O

That's all for now, hopefully some progress soon

very cool, look like Bane from batman, like the effects, i think the chainsaw-stick (chain-pike?) should have a longer handle

Nice job. Agree with william that the stick could be longer, maybe make it look like a chain falx (curved blade on a stick used in ancient times)?
    LoL

I think the chainsword-on-a-stick looks cool mate. it shouldn't be any longer hence it's traitor guard who'll satisfy with anything ^^ looks like a 2h chainchopper

Wow, I like the painting on that first squad. Looks very, um, heretical and chaosy!

I think you should make all your sergeants have a crazy weapon like that, would be awesome.

Thanks for the replies guys, i would love to see the chainsaw stick longer but... it was originally longer but it would'nt fit properly on the stupid traitors body so i had to settles for a shorter chainsaw stick. Update soon, i have been basecoating them but i have no scorched brown or devlan mud around so i shall head up to my local gw and use thier paints. Hopefullly tommorow.

    bye bye for now

I think it's not fair to call that renegade guardsman seargent insane. He's just got mental issues he needs to learn to deal with in a productive manner. Perhaps instead of chopping people up with a chainsaw on a stick, if he learned to discuss his problems with other people.

Say, have you seen the assistant psychologist? Oh well I'm sure he'll turn up.

What's that you're cooking? It smells great!

oh umm... that's nothing *kicks bones out of sight*, as for trying to discuss his problems, the last person to do that was the assistant... who is on vacation

Jst finished up my traitor leman russ, its going to be primed later on tonight and then i will have pictures

The chainsaw on a stick is just awesome. I really like how the models look too- the mix of gas masks but an otherwise lack of full armor just seems chaos-y to me.

Thanks man, i agree with the whole half armour uniform, they dont care what they wear just how they die for thier gods i have an update. Just testing out a scheme, tell me what you guys think.

I think it looks better farther away...

Ive been toying with this scheme for awhile, i had used it on an entire goblin army (not well mind you) anyway, i will hopefully get a better paintbrush soon because my detail brush is down to just a couple bristles. Made it more difficult to paint the skull faces :S.
Please tell me what you guys think

i like it, id try to get more a bleached bone color, it seems a little too white. also id experiment with a flesh mask (hannibal lector style) or maybe like a metal mask. sorta like a steel skull or brass or something, just to see how it looks. the flesh mask idea might require a bit of green stuff to make it look fleshy, and may come off to nurgle-y for what u want.

just some ideas, but i do like the idea of a mask for the guys other than the gas mask, maybe just on sergeants or elite units? cus the gas masks look awesome (probly better than the latest one, but keep trying new ideas and trying to perfect the skull)

hmm i think i agree with you, maybe i should throw the painted skull just on the seargents. Give a bit uniqueness to each seargent

So i have an update. Just made up to seargents for the loyal guard, i wanted the seargent to be pretty rough because they would be the ones to convince thier squad to go towards chaos. On to the pictures...
    this guy is my favourite

oh ya and i "repaired" a pretty bashed up leman russ, so it kind of fits with the army

I'm almost done my renegade squad, just have to do some highlights, will get pics soon.

The new models have a lot of individual character that I really like. Your planning and forethought really shows in these. Good work.
