    I can only answer one or two things there, but suffice to say we're quite busy with the changeover to Soulstorm, coding for the two new races is going ahead, but its not just a case of Fokifying them, they have to be tested and balanced with what's already there, so there's lots of ideas flying around.

    As for the Terminators, well we are currently in the process of having them properly animated, and I'm also working on the new textures (will post screens on our forum, and here soon) along with the new marines which Horus has already posted previously.

    We are also polishing some models that previously were not up to snuff, the marines dread for example has a completely new texture and the model has been improved in places.

    So things are progressing well so far, I'm sure someone else will be along soon with moar

    I also noticed that your Moddb profile could use a little bit of love. I was missing a full on change list to see what changed in FOK (I'm not a DC player anymore), including new races, branches and the like. If you do have the time, I'd like you to improve on that one.
    maybe with emphasis on "if you do have the time"
    Same goes for the map files, they lack any distinct information about the included maps.
    well, the new (and all further releases) will have the maps already included, so no additional download.

    Forgive me for coming late to this party. A friend pointed me to this mod for DC, but from the OP it sounds like it's a mod intended for SS, but isn't ready yet. Is that correct? Or have I misread and it IS ready for Soul Storm?

    I've just finished playing DC (had to end early because the FoK mod kept causing crashes with the Eldar and Tau home base misssion) so I'm ready to start SS but didn't want to play vanilla if this awesome mod was ready.

    You are right. The SS Version is still in development, yet the DC one seems quite ready and mostly finished. I can't fully tell, though, as I use DC mainly as my base folder for Soulstorm mapping.

    Awesome, good to know. I was just curious because i remember bothering MK a lot about those ages ago and remember seeing them in the forum banner and was simply wondering if they had been dropped for some reason, it's good to know that they're still alive and kicking.

    FoK is now being developed internally for SS we are no longer working on the DC version (other than bug fixes or maybe a patch if needed afaik) The DC campaign was never fully implemented and there are problems with it especially on end missions, hopefully this is something we can correct for the SS version, of which there is no public release as yet.

    Meanwhile here's something to whet your appetite...

    It really is good to see vanilla units after they've FoKed over.

    Superb job Fleshy.
    There we were, ready to charge the loyalist scum, and then suddenly we were under fire from our west flank. Batshit mental. We turn to return fire, and somehow they sneaked a bunker in, right next to us! We didn't have any meltas so we got the hell out of there. CREEEEED!

    I've heard there was some hate for how termies looked (though I didn't notice a problem) but I'm wondering if, in addition to making them look better, you're planning on scaling them up to fluff proportions as you've done the vehicles.

    For example, if the average human male is ~6' tall, then the average Space Marine in their armor is ~8' tall, but a Terminator is, what, ~9' tall? Dreadnaughts are about 10-11' tall I think, since they're described as 'as big as a house' and a 1-story building (the smallest thing you could call a house) is about 10'+ (10' per floor usually).

    dreadnoughts stand up to 3 times the height of a man according to the model description on the GW site for dreads.

    some codices say twice the height.

    so either way we are going to be some what wrong and thus leads us to the conclusion:

    they are fine as they are

    and i dont see any limitation about dreadnought size variation in the fluff, 3time the size of a man, it could well be 4.5m to good 6.00m tall...dread are pretty unique given the fact that they are "walking" sarcophage created to honnor the memory of imperium heroes....

    @Horus : looks like my question was los in the heat of last week argument
    is there any arcoflagelant unit to be expected in the incoming release or are you planning to make one ?
    and what is the inquisition tech tree for the inquisition, if any?

    It will essentially be two separate factions. The FoK team will make a single Inquisition faction, but will split it up into two separate forces much like how the IG use ArCo and Infantry doctrines, except the differences will be much bigger as instead of ArCo and Infantry it will be the Ordo Malleus with the Grey Knights and the Ordo Hereticus with the Sisters of Battle.

    oh btw i had some things to report. The game reports a Fatal SCAR error at the start of the battle of the vandean coast.

    also this isnt very important but the threads on the grey knight land raider(as IG) do not move when the vehicle is moving. as if land raiders can fly. good luck :P

    adding the steel legion to fok is easy enough. just add the rgds edit their armour types and weapon armour piercing types as well as abilities etc, and there ya go! :P

    We can't use Steel Legion assets in a public release. As Whiteshield said, there is nothing wrong with adding the mod's models yourself however you wouldn't be able to release the finished product as the Steel Legion modders don't want their assets shared freely.

    I could be wrong, but that's the last I heard.

    Indeed Gorb. And Grizzly, people would start complaining about "copyright infringement". however, modding it privately, you could do it.

    Its not that complicated, but it will eat up A LOT of your time, and knowing how busy the fok mod team is, they wouldn't put much effort in a mod with no offense meant, has models that don't have the same quality, though it is good, its not in the same level as the models of fok, but what would you expect from something that was done a couple of years ago?... in simple terms... its models are outdated.

    But what's stopping you?.. FoK's gameplay is not my taste but what I did was make my own personal mod with soulstorm's dark eldar, replaced the witch hunters with the sisters of battle (coz they're TC), added the tyranids, Inquisition, steel legion, and of course, FoK's own models. well I pretty much added what the community had to offer. :P

    your free to make your own dawn of war mods with the models in fok, just that if people aren't going to allow there assets to be used in a similar fashion then we cant work with them. a conflict of interests does that. no point asking if X mod can be added to ours if the mod makers themselves don't want there assets used.

    Hello all and the team F.O.K. I wonder whether you can make the files public "VHM" and "vhe" your future models of leadership? (The SS versions) I am planning to make updates to my work. Your models are the reference community allow myself to realize it. I must complete an archivist and his nemesis.


    Concepts of my development:

    -Make a wider choice of special heroes: Several variations of wargears.
    -Use of random elements for character customization. (Amended update)
    -New textures: On the basis of "wargear" and parts Horusheretic random models.
    -Choice of spells generic human: combinations of spells "IG" existing (evil / good)
    I have already imported and attached to the archivist. I optimize vents for easy import of compatible models. (Wizard, Fc, IQ, Lord and maybe other models.)
    -Choice of unique spells: new spells adds 1 to 4 spells per hero concept. (A dozen are currently being renovated with new sound) I'll probably added lots already developed by the community.
    -More wargears: wargears variations (variations in the themes of the concepts of heroes)
    -DPS: New concepts to the study. (New damage types and resistances. In combination with work on the "UI")


    Objects of my work:

    -Experiments and Sources for "Mods".
    Demos-concepts. (To give ideas for development)
    -Base for the construction of a project hero fun.
    -Optimize each models to offer a maximum of content in a small space and programming "AE".
    - Alternatives to heroes from today to extend the gameplay possibilities. (A mix DOW2, DOTA and WH40).


    Warning: I planned to make hex editing files for experimentation. If you give me the permission you need to take account.

    The current models should work with Soulstorm, ombrephenix, however we're in the process of cleaning up our existing art assets and improving upon them. As per the terms of the FoK mod you're free to use any of the art assets provided within the modification, as long as you possess a copy of the modification.

    ha well! I already informed to the questions of Arts. I am trying to know whether this is the case for "VHM" and "vhe"? My job may change the "Events" animations and combos FX models. I especially need authorization Horusheretic. It's mostly work that I may denatured by my concepts. ("OE" changes may be very important for models.)

    If you or I confirmed the feasibility of my projects you can make me follow the "VHM" and "vhe"? I can extract myself but it's harder for me to work with 3DMax. I'm no 3D modeler.
