    Yeah, I noticed that and it's awesome. If you don't want to change between units, you can try to change between Armies, it will also randomize the selected unit. Besides that, I loved all the extra stuff like the dozens of created armies and the quotations taken from the codices.

    I only had the chance to try it once, but both me and my younger brother managed to defeat the CPU on Skirmish which isn't normal when facing a mod's AI . I guess that it will stop happening once Thud updates it.

    We also tried several FoK maps and in one of them I noticed a lot of pink question marks on places edited by the FoK Team. It was on the "Dawn of War Mission 2" map, but since I don't have any other maps installed I guess that it could be because I'm missing some decals or something like that. The problem was only visual, since the terrain itself had all the attributes like Cover. Besides that and the lack of textures on some models, the mod is everything that I expected from it.

    EDIT: I noticed that there are more people with problems downloading from Megaupload. Once again, I recommend the use of JDownloader (http://jdownloader.org/). The software takes care of everything, you only have to copy the link to it and tell it where you want to download it to. It's not only free, but you also don't have to worry about any kind of spam.

    Spent some time with this, and its great! loving the Eldar, only problem i have is when trying to load an 8 player match, always crashes right after the loading bar fills up. but everything else is sweet, cant wait for the imp AI and the package will be set!

    All the 8 player maps that aren't relics crash before game-start. Also Chaos seems to turtle the ENTIRE game. guess it'll be fixed in new AI.

    Yeah, I noticed some instability and CTD's on 8-player maps as well, not just the ones from the FoK map pack. Is that going to be resolved in the first patch with Thuds AI?

    Ah...that would probably mean that the new English tooltips weren't copied over to the other language folders. This assumes that other players running the mod with non-english copies of the game are having similar issues. Fairly easy to patch up

    Time and health permitting on my end, I might have a little extra something for everyone in a month or so...

    Hi everyone,

    Even though i know it is really hard to know th release date for the SS version, do you guys have any idea about how long might it take?
    DC is the only version of dow i dont have (mainly cause i dont play tau or necrons) and i really wanna try out FoK. I want to be able to use more eldar aspects.

    Also as long as everyone has this mod installed and activated it is totally multiplayer supported right? Cause i have a group of friends, we play dow regularly.

    i was thinking if fok version for dark crusade is 3 gb big,than for ss it will be at least 4gb or more,because no

    -dark eldar
    -necrons
    -sisters
    -imperial

    in dark crusade,all new stuff have to be made for those races,units, textures,powers,etc. whatever they have in mind???i think we wont see ss mod until new year,lot of job to do.

    For SS, FOK will probably wind up introducing the following...

    Chaos: more daemons, Marked CSM and Chosen (as opposed to Cult Marines)

    Dark Eldar: improved models and textures, more weapon upgrade options, Grotesques (if possible)

    Eldar: War Walkers, possibly see Harlies fleshed out more, possible tweaks and additional polish to Wraithguard and Autarch...

    Imperial Guard: more polish to existing units...

    Necrons: New HQ building IIRC...

    Orks: Randomization for CC weapons and Slugga Pistols and possibly a new Ork Trukk and a Battle Wagon

    Space Marines: Heavy weapons for Scouts, possible Land Speeder Storm, Thunderfire Cannnon, and Master of The Forge.

    and last but not least...IG Armoured Company as its own race.

    That's off the top of my head mind you. Specs subject to change...so check with the team or head over to the forums.

    Idea is to get out a version with fixed tooltips (engl. / alt lang. if possible) and with all races in DC version + SS Races, then add the rest in another release. Gives more to play earlier for the masses and more bugfinders so you can edit them out in following versions adding other races and stuff. My 2 cents.

    € Oh btw might contribute another map to the package... currently in WIP status, a Z map remake of Mission 16. Sort of.

    No new releases (especially on the scale of 2 new races) either.

    Only things are slight patches and fixes which will rectify any issues with the existing one.

    Personally I'd like to see Renegades as part of the Chaos race, with the ability to build a Traitor Guard / Chaos Militia army with CSM as Elites - but that's not my call to make...

    I'd suggest to everyone to look to the general motto we have, and answer to most questions - If it's codex, it'll be in.

    Obviously, there are certain things incapable of porting across, or being effective, but regardless of that, we're even looking into a way to get bikers not work so poorly.

    As for the Soulgrinder, well Horus is our Modeller and Chaos fanatic, so Iguess your best bet is to ask him, but I'm going to have a guess, and say "yes" to the Soulgrinder being in for SS, but we currently have nothing modelled yet. AFAIK, anyway.

    Haha, Gorb, myself, and melooo are looking at ways of porting in Tyranids, and ArCo as races, as well as the potential for Ordo Xenos branch for the Inquisition faction, so any variants based on existing lists (aka Rebel Guard based on Imperial Guard/Codex Eye of Terror ;D) would be a nice place to start on. Plus it's more chaos, so I think Horus could be a happy bunny

    You can run this version on SS, it's fairly easy if you have some modding knowledge (Just adjusting, some eldar relocations here and there, and a tau crisis suit squad, that didn't have a correct melee weapon). The problem is, the balance and the AI. I'm not sure that you can play comfortably as DE or Sisters, as they're not modified yet, and the AI is non-existent, as it must be written under DC code, or something along those lines.

    Answer to the question "can you play this on SS?"

    Long anwser: yes, but flawed, no AI, and the new races unbalanced, albeit you can see the shiny bits and all that
    Short awnser: No, wait for the FoK team to Fok-up SS

    Do you have DoW winter assault installed on the same PC as DC? Pink Q marks signify (I think) missing decals, so you may need WA installed. If it isn't already installed, then I dunno.

    I already have WA installed, so it could be some other decals. I will try to install other map packs later and see if they fix the lack of decals, since this is a new DC installation and the only stuff I have installed is FoK and it's map pack. Thanks for the quick reply!

    Lol...I had the same problem with RC 1218, now I have the same problem with 3.5 How do I build the chapter master ??? I have all the needed stuff but it keeps saying that I need a captured stratigic point which I already have...

    First SP Campaign is my fave as well

    Unfortunately, I don't think running the mod on top of the initial release of DOW is possible as there were a number of fairly substantial engine tweaks to the game since the initial release...all of which the mod uses.

    I'd love to see a port of the first campaign to DC...that would be golden!

    Pink question marks on a map does indeed indicate missing decals.

    There is this one for DoW/WA.

    I think to take 3.5 back everything would have to be re-coded, becouse all the coding changed - from Relic, as I understand it, when they came out with DC.

    @Mirage - though I think Jaguar lord may have found a way to do that with the Linear campaign manager that he has been working on. ( or at least I THINK it was Jaguar-lord , LOL)

    Back to say that plasma cannons = love. As long as I have 2 LREs or some PC Devs, i'm happy =P Just been trying out all the races I like to use (everything bar necrons and orks really...) and i'm loving SM and Guard the most so far just because of the PCs; watching two LREs demolish a horde of BT infantry in a couple of shots gives you a pretty damn good feeling.

    I'm still having a shock after I saw the things you guys did here, WOW, I can't believe such a mod exists.

    One thing though, Is it me or are the Black Templars using Space Marines voices? Will there be unique voices for them?

    Returned from an extended hiatus to congratulate the team on a stirling effort with this release. Well done, folks. You've certainly raised the bar with this one. Once again, many thanks to all you FoKers for making this possible. FoK is a labour of love and it really shows.

    I must apologise for dropping off the radar last year, but I've been forging ahead with a personal project of my own and I didn't think you'd miss me, anway!

    Imperial Guard are all kinds of awesome, now! Those smaller squad sizes are going to take some getting used to, but it's a smart move.

    Incidentally, something weird happened to my Baneblade the other day. I was moving it into position when some Tau units
    began attacking from behind. It must have lost most, if not all its health in half a dozen hits? This seems a bit whacky to me - any idea what could have caused it?

    On the subject of Imperial Guard, how can I get the most out of the Airborne squad? I seem to deploy them like any other deep-striking unit, then use the Valkyrie's strafing run once and only extract the team when they're largely out of harm's way (otherwise they die too quickly to be of any use). But 1600 req strikes me as a little steep for something you could easily substitute with two tanks (especially given the lengthy recruitment time)? Obviously, they're of more use on larger maps, but saving up that 1600 (which could even go towards a baneblade if you've gone arco) in a fast-paced game really leaves you vulnerable for a smaller pay-off than I'd expect. The airstrike doesn't do much damage to vehicles (when I last checked) and those squad troopers are pretty fragile. Am I missing something, here?

    Necrons are scary. Very scary. Destroyers insta-killing my librarian with the first shot was a sobering moment. Encourages me to think TT and actually bother to attach heroes to meatshield squads or stick them in transports. Or both. Big thumbs up for that. Is insta-kill is a new feature? If it isn't, i've never noticed it before, but I do play hardcore mode almost exclusively.

    Tau kick ass. I've never enjoyed using them in the past, but now they're actually worth some time in the army painter.

    Love the new Eldar Autarch, although I would have prefered some flapping motion in the swooping hawk wings. Obviously the wraithguard need a bit of work, but it's nice to finally see them in-game. Any plans for jetbikes or themed craftworld armies??

    My only criticism for the space marines is the chapter master's ridiculously pimped-up 'Big Bird' jump-pack. I'm probably alone on this one but for me it just looks way over the top! XD Everything else on SMurfs is simply awesome.

    Haven't had a chance to play much with Orks, so I won't comment.

    However, as an avid chaos player, I have to admit - the new daemons really aren't much to look at. Now, I know a lot of the old talent has left for pastures new and real life commitments etc., so I can appreciate that a change of hands will mess things up a bit. I acknowledge the fact you're missing an animator, too. Regardless, the difference in quality between both the new demon units and the rest of FoK's chaos (and other races) units really has me stumped.

    Plaguebearers are using blatently recycled Horror parts (why no Nurgle-horns? ) and Bloodletters are little more than miniaturised Bloodthirsters with a weirdly distorted face? I mean - why bother? These two seem really half-arsed to me. Everything else in the mod is top notch, which makes it all the more conspicuous.

    I was hoping to retexture one or both of these units myself, but the models are so obviously similar to those you've cannibalised that it would only be glossing over the problem. And honestly, what is going on with the bloodletter's head? It's all over the place. I wouldn't know where to begin.

    Oh well. Maybe I'll have a crack at your Greater Daemons when they finally see the light of day.

    Hate to end on a sour note, so I'll close by saying that I look forward to finally getting my money's worth out of Soulstorm, which has been gathering dust all this time...

    Oh and a general request to all competetive FoK players: let's see your replays! Replays are good.
