puh, lots of stress in here, people calm down everybody, to discuss this, guys, it is a mod, a very well made, it is their decision, only their's!!! be happy, that this is given to the community as a gift, they lost their freetime for that, i am a longtime lurker here, since the old days of sig's first version i played this mod, every version since that time was better than we other before, believe me, it's growing is wonderful, this team will make a new baby, that's for sure...i for myself look really forward to this 2.0 version, EUROPEANTHEATER 1944!!! it will represent the eastern front and the western front, with it's game limitations noted naturally, historical accurate global players from this timeframe ( regiments, battalions and armycorps )...i know, i will love to play this masterpiece, muah
@team: i played a couple of games with my friends via LAN, i think and this is only a suggestion, both allied airborne doctrines ( US/Britain ) are to strong with their possibility to reinforce everywhere, that makes no sence in the way of combat mechanics, no man, even a madman ( i know some FALLSCHIRMJÄGER, hehe ) would drop directly into combat, i know, it is a game, but this advantage is to powerful against the other choosable doctrines, you go to the enemy base with your squads and reinforce and so on and so on, you know, make them dropable i suggest, but they have to reinforce like every other squad close to base or buildings or halftracks

People are capable of creating "non-historically" correct games with v2.0 as they can with v1.7. I understand the inclusion of the Soviets in v2.0 without the Ostheer does create a scenario where you are forced to play an unrealistic scenario until we put in the Ostheer.
Out of respect to the EF mod, we are going to wait to add the Ostheer until v2.1.
And as stated, you can still play very historically correct games - as a matter of fact MORE historically correct games with v2.0 (given the overhaul of the doctrines and increased VERY detailed research) - depending on who you choose to use and who your opponent uses. It's just that it will also be possible to play more "fictional" games as well, especially until we add the Ostheer.

@FeldMarshalPF - Ah yes, that helmet. If I remember correctly SIG had those on the Fallschrimjagers in the early early versions of N44', which was back in the day of the first Company of Heroes.
Any chance we can get that back in Sweeten?

latias, does it really matter if the European Theatre add in russians, you could do the best of all options but to not upgrade to 2.0, if you really dont want the russians in this mod, then fine but it isnt gonna change the modders descision if you of all people decide to not put russians in, and anyway it isnt of your concern to care, if you dont want to play as the russians when this should be a Normandy only mod, then go play Blitzkrieg or dont update, and the EF mod is lacking potential, i dont really like it that much, and i was hoping for realistic Weaponary, enhanced Squads of Russians, new maps... basicly Russian Theatre... European Theatre but with the Russians instead, now i dont really like the idea as well of adding russians with the US and the UK, but then again it doesnt matter cos i just wont play as them. now if you really want a ban from the forums (at this rate i think you might anyway) then i'd stop arguing with the Modders of the fantastic Mod. good day

@Bowkers - Thanks for clearing that up with everyone.
@BattleBrotherMo - I believe the Russians are being added just like the other factions, so in their repective Divisions and units, so I think they might be toned down.

@ Everyone - the Russians are being added in a similar format as the rest of the factions based around operation Bagration.
One Doctrine will be based around the "hammer" of the beginning of the operation, based around Oslikovsky's mechanized force in the 3rd belorussian front (mobile and fast striking for the most part)
The second doctrine is based on more contemporary infantry forces, best compared with the US Inf doc
The Third will be more elite forces (Elite Guards) based mainly around assault or breakthrough forces

To be honest with you, I have all but forgotten what the vCoH fallschrimjagers look like, but didn't they have a different helmet with webbing?
It's exactly what is being requested, but with webbing, yes. SlayerKnecht has made bare steel skins for them, which might be what you're looking for. I am sure others have made skins like that as well, but I don't keep up to date with skins. I just know that they already have the helm, if not with bare steel. Keep in mind, though, that this mod takes place when a majority of Fallschirmjäger were issued camo helmet covers. A few FSJ kept their helms bare steel as a reminder of Monte Cassino and Crete, with mud smered on to make a pseudo camo, or used webbing with leaves, but a majority used the helmet covers. The Bundes Archives have a lot of pictures of '44 era FSJ with the covers if you're interested.Originally Posted by FeldMarshalPF

Perhaps. Although it doesn't make too much difference as they are not in N44 anyway. I could have sworn the fallschrimjagers from vCoH looked like the ones in the Historical Skin Mod, with those helmets...hmm
If you compare SIGs skin to that, you'll notice that the Fallschrimhelm that is made by the other guy is noticeably bigger, and in my opinion seems a tad bit odd. The one SIG made is smaller, and seems to fit better perportion wise with the models.
Wrong, wrong and wrong.. The fall that came in Opposing Fronts is the one that has the camo helmet. The one they are asking is the one that came in a beta, it has the steel helmet. 5870 was a good choice but you should of got rid of the 8g go for 4g and wait until nivida gives out the 470gtx unless they way better power then 5870 then stick with 5870
plus you should of got atcs 840, wait until 700d, buy 800d for the window or got the FT02 sliverstone case.
ASUS H55 mobo's are way better as they use turbo boosting and gpu boosting
get the i5 750 because its a 4 core hyper threading cpu and only 200 bucks
trust me on the 8gs ram you wont regret it getting 4gs instead.
in fact i can make you a list on newegg for you if wanna play this mod in high detail without draining the wallet. (unless you meant its ready by Friday that you already bought the rig)

i5 750 opps i forgot that i5 didn't have HT ( i don't think that matters anyway)
if the mods eats all 4gs then you 4gs are maybe not for games or you got the 1333 or lower versions rams then.
this mod doesn't go any higher then 60-65% on my ram

heres whats a example for a budget gaming computer if you wanna play this mod on max settings
Case: your choice ( full towers are a good idea if you are getting a 5870)
ram: any 4gs with DDR3 1333 or higher
cpu: i5 or the lowest end i7 you can get
amd: any 4 core
Mobo: ASUS 1156 socket
gpu: if you got 500 to spend on gpu then i suggest you wait for the 400 series less then 500: 5870 400 and lower: 5850 300:5830
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA750 (can power up a 5870)
players/gpu ram guide
1v1: 5830/4gs of ram (1333)
2v2: 5850 4gs of ram (1600
3v3: 5870/4gs of ram (1600)
4v4: 5870/6gs of ram (1600 or 2000)
i haven't really went into all gpu's and get their benchmarks yet but the 5800 series is a good choice for the mod.
for the cpu..any 4 core cpu with the speed of 2.4ghz at least.
if you like sweeten you can take guide to show the guys what gpu/ram/cpu is needed for this mod

For whatever it's worth I do suggest more than 4 (6 maybe?) gigs of ram for max settings on 4v4's or mixed faction 3v3's.

@mrempire- i never ever had luck with Nvida all of them and i mean all of them have burned out in never more than a month and the last one i had burned out in about 2 days of ownership.. and i have owned 3 Nvidia.. i like ATI..

some people have differnet mobo's
1156 socket mobo's do 8gs of ram or 4gs
1366 socket mobo's do 3,6 and higher
soo 4gs is good too but you would needs speeds of 2000 or higher
its not all about memory of the RAM but the speeds of it makes the difference.
Three of us play online. All have the same version and the game will play for approximately 10-15 minutes. It will then drop one player and it is always the same guy. He has a high end machine and no problem with the regular game. When he drops out the computer takes over. Any ideals as to a fix?
Just remember, like Grizzly said, if you don't have a 64 bit operating system, anything over 4 gigs of ram is useless in a 32 bit operating system. Anything more is a waste of money.

Well... I just spent the last 3 days trying to fix one friggin bug with the Soviet AI.
I finally got it and the Soviets and US are now coded (mind you it's base code - still a lot to be done)
So onto the Brits I go. It'll feel good just to move forward - very tough 3 days of staring at screens searching

Ive been asking a bit around in the n44 group and some dont even have it.. I also found something that fixed most of my crashes in N44. It should work for everyone who has more than 2500 ram and xp/vista
@Alex3426 - Please, Do tell. I'd like to at least get rid of the Crashes.
i cant seem to get this working right.. im on windows 7.. but when i try to chang the shortcut info it wont let me change the target line.. how do i do so?
@ Grizz - not sure why it won't let you change it (admin privileges maybe?) but there is a different shortcut for win 7.
It's the same stuff at the end but if you are trying to copy paste the old one, it won't work.
