[UPDATE 17a] TC MOD, badges and colour schemes for Retribution.

    Shouldn't take 20 mins, as you only really need to do a few favourites not the entire collection. Delete and replace as your fancy takes you. I'll be updating the readme accordingly anyhow. Morats idea might work though, as the file is not completely regenerated, only certain entires seem to be updated (otherwise there would be no user made scheme persistance between updates..).

    Hi, I have registered here just to check on this mod and ask a couple questions. I have no education in modding or understanding of 'mod speak' so I apologise in advance.

    Firstly, I would like to thankyou as this mod is exactly what I was looking for and it is absolutely brilliant.

    I have the most recent version you linked to running on retribution and everything works perfect for me, however as expected badges are not showing properly in online games.

    Would it be possible to make a copy of every single chapter's scheme with their badge (badges are in my badges folder)
    and then delete one or both of the files in my DOW2 retribution program files and still keep the custom copies? or would this removed certain colours and other things?

    Keep up the good work, this is awesome.

    [UPDATE] I tried adding a copied chapter version, then removing the two program files items and likely to not many people's surprise, it didn't work...

    I have just finished making copies of every space marine and chaos chapter and re-attaching badges for online use...

    It was painful.

    Of course to late now to show you this as you have already made your chapters again.
    Simply select the scheme you want to use in an online game, click create new scheme and just rename it (like.. Alpha legion, choose the army, click create scheme, rename it Alpha Legion (O) save and then play). It just means anyone who can't be bothered to create a scheme can quickly use the presets to create an online compatible version in a couple of clicks.

    When I install this, I cant choose IG army colours (the list is empty) and there are several no range's for army names. That said, this is an awesome mod ! I just wish it didnt have problems

    If you install the most recent link a page back these problems are no longer there, I had the previous version before, with these mentioned problems.

    That's exactly what I did, however for some reason if you simply renamed and saved a copy of a chapter upon reloading the army painter the badges for the copies would be gone and you'd need to start over, so when copying a chapter you must go onto the badge selector and reselect the appropriate badge to get it to save on to them.

    I'm guessing once a chapter copy is made the badges aren't linked from the badge folder? so selecting them again ensures they are and saves the change.

    Upon making a "Ultramarines (O)" etc. copy for every chapter, SM & chaos, which took aaaages. It is now fully working and people online can see the chapter colours and the badges.

    Army colours works fine for me, used the fix at page 8 for the few no range army names... But i can't see the badges when i create a custom army colour.
    I 've placed Badge folder in main directory ...\dawn of war ii - retribution.

    did i do something wrong? what am i missing?

    edit: when i use the DLC_badges file in mod folder from page 8 stopgap release i don't have any norange army, but i can't see the badge when i create a custom army, if i put the DLC_badges file from page 1 release i have the badge when i create a custom army but have many norange army in the list..

    what should i do?

    @SpardaSon - hmm.... search tanith first on google and you'll find a png pic. edit that via photoshop to make a badge. that's what I'm using now

    Despite similarities to the Tanith, Swords of Terra was a private request done to order.

    IG badges are being worked on, Tanith will be included. Colour schemes might possibly be included.. depending on the demand for premade schemes and users acceptance of the fact that a little ingame clicking is required to get them ready for an online match.

    It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I haven't forgotten the mod

    Hangar, don't mean to annoy you or anything, but you named your badges in like manner: "h8_ig_six.dds". If you are ingame in retribution h8_ig_six will be the name of the badge. I suggest naming it simply "Six" or "Sixth". And like your "h8_ig_wreathed_skull.dds", I think it should be renamed "Imperial Guard - Wreathed Skull.dds" or "Wreathed Skull.dds" to make their names more in line with the existing badges.
    And if I may make a request?...
    Could you also include:
    1st Kronus Liberators
    252nd Kauravan Conservators
    37th Tartarus PDF
    and the other regiments not included in retribution but were included in dark crusade?...
    The existing badges resized and converted to dds are good looking, but would look better if a pro like you could bestow upon us your talents once more.

    I can change the names but I think I'll keep the h8 prefix, easier for people to identify the collection while browsing the files in the OS, easier to delete if you don't like them, easier to isolate if you want to delete something else. It'll help stop duplicate filenames as well or overwriting other badges. It's totally NOT an annoying suggestion though, don't worry about it.

    I'll include those badges you mentioned. What's the verdict on the current generic IG badges though? I could have just added numbers, but that seemed a bit boring to me and after looking online at current military unit insignia seemed a good way to go.

    Bloodletters still don't change their color.
    Also there are not all colors in Chaos Trim section. I thought this issue was fixed so I was asking for the link - I already tried to use this one :P

    @hangar - oh the name duplications?.. easy. what I did was add a space after the name and before the .dds. example: Blood Ravens.dds, Blood Ravens .dds, Blood Ravens .dds.
    The current generic IG badges?... ok I guess... Also can you add a Krieg and a Steel Legion-y badge?... and the 71st cadian (from the comic Fire and Honour)

    [EDIT] On a side note, did anybody else notice the sniper rifle animation glitch?... When you equip cyrus the cool firing stance is gone. and the lord general has an uncool firing animation with the sniper rifle too... teh bugz haz strukk agennn....

    [EDIT] Just a suggestion... If you're gonna leave your H8, why not make it completely Hangar-8 instead? example: Blood Ravens (Hangar-8).dds

    They look good and simple enough for the 'quick-stencilled' guard way while bearing some character that would be easily identifiable in a mix of regiments.

    A suggestion regarding IG badges including simple regimental numbering & shapes would be to make some much alike those from the Death Korps decal sheet forgeworld has produced. (Haven't yet found that damned font they've used to keep to a vaguely German-gothic lettering look). If that strikes a chord and you haven't much DKoK material, contact me and i'll provide you with ample refs.

    Apparently as of the DA DLC, Space marine vehicles use a _tem_5 for the DA vehicles, i seem to remember you doing a 5th scheme for marines so i suppose you'll want to look into that.

    Been playing with a bunch of mods with the new patch.. when this is the only mod running Last Stand crashes and gives me an error dump msg.. when I delete the mod and play with Shuma's mod and a bunch of other visual mods I have no issue.. Anyone else have this problem (It also crashes with the Beta as well)

    Apologies for being AWOL, been extremely busy inRL recently. Seems I'll have to get the DA DLC to sort out mod incompatibilities, I'll also get in the IG content (yes Tanith are there, bot as First and as The Only (2 variations as I'm calling them, to reflect the Tanith full badge and the modified one later if you know the story. Will add Verghast as well probably).

    Give me this week, I should have something by weeks end (as in friday, not the weekend).

    hey hangar i have a big big question...i've tryed to create my own badge...so ive used your "ultramarine badge" as base in photoshop(just for the dds-file)
    then i deleted the ultramarine layer made a new black background and then my layers for the new badge...after that fusioned all layers into 1 file (my finish badge with the black background like urs) then pasted into my badges folder started the game and i got a ultramarine badge with my textures...what is that???

    the second thing is...ive opened a whole new file...black background my layers...lalala made the same thing like before but i have a black background in-game...i cant help me... your badges have a black background too and its the same file and the same kb size...pls help me out hangar....

    @Azariah - Not hangar 8, but its easy what you did wrong. You didn't create a new Alpha channel. Its still using Hangar's ultramarine alpha channel. simply go to channels (its the section with the stuff like layers except there are already stuff called RGB, Red, Blue and Green - like 4 layers? meh -_-) and go to the alpha channel and fill the entire picture black (WHILE THE ALPHA CHANNEL IS ACTIVE OR YOU'LL END UP WITH A DESTROYED BADGE! O_O) now go to the layers tab and press select pixels when your pointer is above the little icon box of your badge. then go back to channels, select the alpha channel and fill with white while select pixels thingy is active (NOTE: Learned this without proper photoshop training so the best I can come up with. Reply afterwards so I can further explain if u fail...)

    [EDIT] Your second badge, the green one has the black background showing coz it doesn't have an alpha channel!

    @Hangar - I've been curious, how in the world do you add worn out effects on your badges? they make them epic'ly more realistic
