[CR] Wrath of the Blood Ravens mod

    I have Chaos Rising. And a level 7 Sorcerer !

    New mod changes.
    Chaos :
    Tactical Marines are getting their new weapon ugprades.
    Plaguemarines will get special weapons.
    Bloodletters are fast, and deal very huge damage, but have low health.
    Havoc Aspiring Champions don't work. They don't have heavy weapons animation.

    Librarian:
    Campaign Tremor and Vortex of Doom spells replaced by custom spells, based upon Avatar wailing doom and D cannon Singularity. I could not get the original spells to do any damage. Sorry. This will also mean, that this wargear will make it into non CR release.

    Chaos Lord can not have weapon FX animations. Diddily-giggity darn it. The effect just howers between his feet on the ground. It looks like as if someone threw fireworks under him .

    Retreat bug fixed. It was not a retreat bug, but simply the fact that the Chaos Lord had two melee resistance auras, and they made him invincible in melee. Combined with the good bonus he gets against shooting attacks while retreating, he was virtually unkillable.

    NEW bug: SM lightning claws. No matter what I do, these dual Terminator weapons KILL EVERYTHING in one or two hits. Even a Chaos Lord. I am at a loss of what causes it.

    I also notise that Terminator lightning claws too powerfull against infantry. Maybe this is some bug? Or game shows wrong damage )))

    if you had a gaint fist the size of a small bolder smash into your face you would go down to =P not to mention the fact that it can rip through a tank... + theres long painfull electric spikes coming out of it.

    It is okay to do some damage.
    However it now does 200 damage, and still kills the 5000 hit points Chaos Lord in TWO hits!
    I want Lightning claws as a weapon good agaisnt all, with Thunder hammer doing slightly less damage, but giving a protection buff, and dealing more damage to large units like vehicles or heroes.
    So, good over all weapons, but one better against swarms, other better against single large enemies.

    on the topic of lightning claws and thunderhammers in tabletop thunderhammers have strength 8 and stun tanks and infantry however they attack slowly
    lightning claws have strength 4 but attack faster

    The Firedrakes stand read to serve.

    And Lightning claws come in pairs, while hammers have storm shields.


    Edit : Lightning claw solution. The LC has an on hit buff , that deals damage 5 times after hit.
    I tought it was a special attack, and gave it a damage value like a normal attack.
    Which mulitplied the damage by 6 in effect.

    That is because the lastest version is for Dawn of War II 1.9

    There is no working Chaos Rising release yet. ( only Chaos Rising)

    Chaos Marines got the following upgrades :
    1 Autocannon
    1 Lascannon
    2 Heavy Bolters
    2 Missile Launchers
    2 Flamers
    2 Meltas
    2 ( Plasma Guns).
    Inferno Bolts
    Mark of Khorne (Gives Chainswords and bolt pistols. Chainaxes and plasma pistols moved to Khorne berzerker squad).
    Plague Marines upgrades:
    2 Flamers
    2 Meltas
    2 (Plasma Guns)

    Sm Dreadnought Limit increased to 2, Predator limit increased to 3.

    All tanks have around 30% more health. Wraithlord and Deff Dreds also have more health.
    Chaos units and heroes are now updated damage, range, cost, population, squad size and health wise to Mod standards.

    Heretics cost no population, but you can have only 4 squad. Squads are 8 members, otherwise Ritual spell animation bugs.
    Chaos Marines are a bit stronger than Loyalists.
    However Loyalists have a few tricks and abilities to turn the tide of battle.
    Chaos Dreadnoughts are tier 3, Predators tier 2. Both limited to 3.

    Ork warboss starting Chainaxe knockdown chance reduced from 100% to 30%.

    Khorne berzerkers are frenzied chain axe wielding melee fighters. They have good health, damage and speed.
    The squad has 8 members, and only one can be fielded in Tier 2.
    Bloodcrusher moved to tier 1. (I am not sure if I will keep it here. Perhaps I'll simply make Mark of Khorne for tacticals available at tier 1).
    CSM Tactical Mark of Khorne now gives chainswords and bolt pistols.

    P.S.Chaos forces don't have any units linked to Slaanesh.Can you fix it?
    P.S.S.Can you add a function to change weapon of my favorite tacticals in-game?For some money, of course, and near the base.

    Don't worry, I trust myself more than Lexicanium (they rarely update their stuff).

    1: A campaign version will require a LOT of time. I can not make miracles, unfortunatly.
    2: I would need a talented skinner to make a pink CSM skin, and reskin some weapons at least, that would be good for Noise Marines.
    3: No, that is impossible, unless you make the squad heroes. But than they would not reinforce. There is a circumventing solution, but that is simply not worth it I think .


    I have University to suffer, an almost finished Ironclad Dreadnought (Blood Ravens... what else?) to paint, and I might play other games and raise my Sorcerer too.
    I am working on the mod as fast as I can.

    I'm almost done with MP. Now just the undecided stuff and a few requirements need doing, like CSM meltas and plasmas, or ASM Lightning Claws.

    I will try to include the old vanilla campaign files.
    If the old campaign is in, than I think it would be better not to try CR campaign as the old files might cause a problem there.

    Don't worry, the multiplayer races are reaching a relativly playable state. A few new Chaos upgrades need proper requirements (new icons would be nice , but I can not use photoshop) and a few chaos abilities need a damage increase.

    And the Vanilla "Bug Extermination" Campaign needs testing. I'm not sure that the old wargear files will work under 2.1 .

    There is no Chaos Rising release yet.
    I promise I will try to give a stable release until Friday.
    Hopefully I can release it tomorrow, but I'm not sure.


    Until then, pray to the Emperor to speed the mod that brings movie marines (Loyalist AND Chaotic now)!

    You guys have to give him sometime you know? He has to rework everything and re make every little detail before he releases another beta. If its rushed then its just gona break like with the Angels Gate thing. Just wait a while. Play through the reg single player on hard if you got the nads >
    Theres no Mod tools or SKDs really out, thats why it takes forever to Add anything or alter the looks of things. Deus is just editing the game for a better experince. (with some help from other modders of course )

    AND for everyone saying that the mod doesnt work well it cant when the last beta release was on a diffrent patch system can it? Dawn of war is currently on 2.(somthing) and the latest mod file was for 1.9. Older files arnt gona work with a new game.

    PS: your silly marine army is no match for my eldar or tau XD

    Good thing mentioning that Eldar... Wraithguard need a boost.

    The old campaign appears to work... with some problems.
    Marines die like flies, and some SCAR units are invincible for some reason.

    It is playable, but not spotless. I will ask the people here to play the beta, and report anything they find. I am mainly looking for bugs, although "SM are too expensive" , "Eldar die too fast" and "Orks don't chop enough" cries are welcome too.

    Also, should SM have IG? And should basic squads be able to build turrets, instead of special heroes?
    Scouts, Heretics, Gaunts, Guardians and Sluggas for turret builders?

    Edit : A few more bugs fixed. If all goes well, I can give a somewhat beta release tomorrow.
    This beta release will REQUIRE CHAOS RISING.

    If you do implement turret building on basic squads then may i suggest you use a least used and vulnerable unit, then you have to protect your turret builders.

    Don't play multiplayer so i'm not sure which unit correctly fits the description.

    Scouts, Guardians, Stikkbombas, Gaunts, Heretics... they seem to be the weakest units of their races hitpoint wise.

    Also, don't forget, turrets are very expensive.
    200 req / 30 power is not something you can throw out of a window. Perhaps 300 req 30 power would be better.... still, in the late game, turrets get eaten by tanks/anti tank troopers anyway.

    They do not cost "population" already.
    If you mean space, what they occupy, I can't help.
    Walls and minefields are a waste of time. Turrets can hold out until a tank or a marine with a lascannon arrives, but walls would be of no use.
    DoW2 is a Tactical Real Time game. Tactical, not Strategy.

    No, the mod only works with the original version, since it is based upon the original files.
    If those files are changed, all manner of nasty errors show up.

    The errors can be nasty. One of my friends already bought the game, because the mod only works well with original.

    It is the same mechanism as with different patches.


    Edit : oh, and it only works with English language.

    Lame joke, I know, but it is true. My mod can have bugs with the most up to date patch, so Machine God have mercy upon whoever tries to use another version of the game.
    Pirated, or just outdated, it does not matter, bugstorm ensures in those rare instances when the mod will even start.
    Most likely, it will crash upon start.

    When you get Guard into the game Might I suggest giving them to the Chaos Faction as well. Have them be cheaper and weaker then the heretics, more like in DoW1. The DoW2 heretics have there uses surprisingly, the DoW1 ones really didnt. Have squads of cheap meat shields would work with chaos nicely =3

    And if you must add them to the marines then do the same thing with them as chaos, chost little points, but not exactly strong. Perhaps you can build Vet squads of them that dont die as easily.

    The Turrets idea is well... eeehh.......not for normal squads no. Having a dedicated Builder unit that repairs quickly, and builds a few things then yes put that in but dont give reg squads the power to turtle with just themselves.

    If you have only Chaos Rising, than you can still play as Chaos Race in Multiplayer, and use the Chaos Rising Campaign.
    The mod does not changes that.

    Well, with Lascannons, you can not turtle with Turrets. Those things are death to anything except swarms of infantry.

    No, you can only play Chaos Marines.

    What races you can play is NOT affected by this mod. It does NOT unlock anything.
    It gives new units and new weapons, wargear, but it only extends what you already have.

    DeusImperator, your mod is not compatible with 2.1 right? I have DoW 2 retail and CR steam version and it doesn't work for me. ( Really want to try it, cos with all those large armies it seems this mod is what the original game should have been.

    Please read the main page description.
    It states that the latest release is for 1.9, and 2.1 is in progress.

    Right now, I could make a more-less playable release, but in the campaign retreating enemies have a very disturbign golden glow effect which causes the game to lag.

    Installation:

    1. Make a back-up copy of DoW2.module
    2. Copy the files from the mod archive into the Dawn of War 2 main folder.
    3. add the " -dev" extension to your DoW2 shortcut and play.

    It should look like this :

    "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 20570 -dev

    4. Optionally, you might use the pre-made shortcut included- If you have installed Steam to the standard folder. If you installed Steam elsewhere, please adjust the file, or make your own as in step 3.
