    I have the same question
I'll assume in that case, it was a placeholder, since its ucs said Kroot something (don't remember what exactly) Sphere.

@ Gambit: You think that is awesome? Those are inanimated frames with no sound, the mod itself is SO epic it surprises me Soulstorm can stand it.

@ The community: Take a just a little moment to remember how crude and simple vanilla Soulstorm is... DoW mods indeed make a massive improvement.

Thanks to the mod team for this hard work, these images are incredible, I have hope that someday I can have fun with this mod of epic proportions. But a man can dream ... A man can dream ...

What is that metallic spherical building?
I think it is an Adepta Sororias building.
I happened to manage getting the ALPHA version of the mod (even though availability window was short ), and it appears to be one of the buildings that was left out from the community beta version of the AS.
I might be way wrong, though....

I couldn't agree more (in fact, sometimes I wonder if it is a different game!!!). The community's efforts, way surpass the professionalism standards most commercial games have!!!
I think NONE plays the standard Vanilla game UNMODDED any more!

I recommend you strip the old Warhound from the mod and insert the new one provided. It is a lot better, and you'll make Winterdyne (and me) a lot more happy to see not that old stiff Warhound.
Mods In Progress: Ultimate Apocalypse | Daemons Mod

    Beware, my Ultimate Apocalypticinator!

  8. #558
@ Cylarne i use them both.

EDIT: Or do you mean there's a newer version of the grey imperial one?

  9. #559
? Why are you using... both?

New one. With better animations all over the place. Can find this in like the UA mod or TTRU.

Old one. The one Winterdyne and I don't like. Can find it in many mods.

(Perhaps a better zoomed in picture would do...)

Grey Imperial one? This one? Not sure what you mean.

  10. #560
I thought u meant replace the one in this pic:

  11. #561
Not sure how that one works.

the spherical building is the Adepta Sororitas mod ordo_hereticus building, it was included in the alpha and ONLY public release for the mod, only the whm/whe pair was available.

@ cylarne: It could use an OE tuneup for sure (mainly firing animations and whatever makes them shoot way above or the side of targets with its turbo lasers but still damage it, and YES ive gone over the traverse settings of the weapon rgd etc etc

Or do you mean how it works RE: me using both warhound models? In that case the answer is obvious, the older one is to be the "chaos version" on release (assuming no other chaos warhound materializes out of the aether before then ) , obviously that will involve some basic texture work but its so simple even i could do it.

Hit me up on skype if it holds any interest for ya

@Everyone else, we GREATLY appreciate your positive comments and patience, we intend to get stuff like that posted more often from now on and while I make no PROMISES I would be pretty darn surprised (barring unforseen complications ) if your patience pays off in more than 6 months

    But i repeat; I MAKE NO/ZERO/NADA/NYET/NEIN promises!

    ----------

    @ JL indeed

@ Tenshi yes atm it is the "stand-in" for a landed warsphere alas i could not get the building to resize via lua. but oh well just makes an even better "reminder"

Just a reminder this project is still quite alive and some more pics.

View from "orbit"; still haven't got the fog etc set how i'd like :/

Epic Tier Raptor Cult; Yes that is in fact a squad of 131. Spawns with a Raptor Chaos Lord as a squad leader too

    View from "bomber altitude"

    Random Lemans in action

Ork Gargant vs Imperial Warlord Titan (yes they can melee; warlord lacks proper animations though)

Pitched battle near a Space Port

    Imperial Guard mopping up

    View from "flyer altitude"

Lord Of Change ruins Chaos' day (no starting HQ means enemies aren't necessarily anywhere near their starting positions )

Ultramarines "Strike Cruiser" flying a LITTLE lower than intended; always more to be done

    I also has screenshots!
Looking cool in a crater next to a wall. That's what Rubrics do when they aren't shooting stuff

Do not look at the taskbar. I wasn't exploiting any incorrect cap on the Steel Furies. Those are just part of Kauravan 252nd's shipment of a 100 Baneblades.

Me being utterly lame as Tau

    TASTE THE RAINBOW. TASTE ITTTTTT

Btw Iron Warrior, I improved your Lord of Change pic and got you a present!

How the hell do you get 131 Raptors in a squad? The most I ever had was like 35 conscripts. lol. seriously, tried making it 40 in corsix, I always ended up with 35.

  19. #569
The same way one gets command squads to spawn with squad leaders
Apparently the limit on squad leaders is much higher than the limit on squad members

@ 'tenshi; dude, was just a chuckle til i saw the chaos lord helm, can't stop laughing now Saved and archived

@ 'tenshi AGAIN: Now that i think about i guess it IS somewhat useful in its explicitness relative to just how different things are when you get to CHOOSE where you build your base(s).

WARNING! Base rushing vs. a merely competent player (or even competently designed AI) with a basic understanding of how DoC plays will:

At best require a significant time and focus investment and put oneself in a pretty high risk position at the earliest stages of the game.

At worst get oneself annihilated because one was paying too much attention to trying find an enemy base to rush into and not enough on securing an area and building ones own base.

    ----------

@ Metal God; What in particular would you like to see? I tend to just throw u pics i accrue while focused on testing this or that during routine playtesting, but if there's something particular you or anyone else would like to see (warning, LOTS of stand-ins atm) just let me know.

    ----------

@Whiteshield, if you need more specific and focused help on the matter of increasing squad sizes pm me

I get excited every time I see new pictures, this mod is the largest I've ever seen in my life (26GB). Fuck this is much bigger than their own game, Soulstorm.I'd like to see something about World Eaters if you do not mind.

@ Pragmatic: I haven't seen the full projected races list in a while, but if I remember correctly, DoC will not only have the Inquisition, but Radical Inquisition and even the feared DeathWatch

Brother Tenshi is right, last version DID include the Inquisition's three major branches (DaemonHunters, WhichHunters, and deathwatch).
I hope IW to keep these IN!!!

  26. #576
Deathwatch and Radical Inquisition were and are (for now) in as support elements for other armies (for example The Relictors have access to Radical Inquisition units) and yes Witch Hunters, Inquisition, and Sisters Of Battle will remain as entirely seperate armies.

@METAL- The mod DOES contain world eater assets. believe me, they're all high quality (even though I still prefer to use mostly FoK/PoK models)

Since we're so nice and khorny, we got you some screenies from the World Eaters.
IronWarrior42 is to be credited for the taking of those images (and Catwell for the his outstanding models of course), as I realized to take screenshots a bit too late and only took one.
(I decided to put them in spoiler tags to avoid making a post thousands of pixels tall)

    World Nommers!

I also went through the effort of uploading all these in a .zip file for ease of collection.
    Available here.

Whoa!!! Tenshi you are a real teaser!!!!
Man, I see TOO many new models.
It seem the DOW community is ON FIRE!

@IW: Are you still aiming at race-specific recourse systems?
I mean there are so many special features concerning this mod that ... we've lost count!

I really should look at his assets again, I have them all sitting around somewhere.

I'd forgotten how nice his Bloodletters were (the classic Fantasy variant, I think).

    Excellent work Whiteshield!!!

  37. #587
    Invaluable work as always Whiteshield!

Also if you'd be so kind as to check ur pm's

@ Gambit further differentiation of each armies resource systems is indeed part of the long term plan but in the short term im focused on applying pre-existing forms of resources to the armies they are suited for. After that i gotta find a way around the whole "dow refusing to show more than one kind of third resource" issue.

@lootedcarnifex: Ah! I almost forgot, welcome to war, brother.
@Whiteshield: Great news, I only said it because long ago I asked something similar here in relicsnews, related to the completion of mod, and it said to myself, but that was long ago.

  44. #594
@ Looted Carnifex: Every army in the OP is in game and has at LEAST all the basic neccessities (health, accuracy, etc. researches; tier addons; full compliment of units; and most importantly its own playing style), there are however armies on the "master list" (which is close to 100 armies) that will not be included in the first release. Sorry you'll be stuck with only the 56 armies listed in the OP til i get around to "expansion packs"

Mother of god, my computer is going to hate me for downloading this when you release it, but I don't care if I have to download a 200Gb file for it.
Glory to the Emperor, death to the Fallen.

B-C, I downloaded the mod before it was taken offline. dont worry, its not 200GB. Its 32 GB. :P

PS IronWarrior, how DID you get permission from Friedric to use his mod? Can you ask him if I can release a modded version of his mod also?

I look forward to it. I thought you were crazy for trying to add this many armies, and now you say you have 56 in game. I'm in a slight bit of shock, and a whole lot of awe.

  49. #599
@everyone; Once again if anyone has any specific requests in terms of in-game pics post'em here; and REMEMBER always remember, i'm just a coder basically (yeah i can do a bit of scar, mapping etc. but not enough to call myself a scar coder or mapper for example) so there are lots of stand-in models, some with ultra-simple texture slaps that don't look right at all but make the unit visually identifiable as whatever its "supposed" to be.

Hmm, I'm just curious if the Eldar are getting the Phantom Titan to balance against the Warlord. Also, pics of the Warlord and Reaver would be nice.
