    This mod sounds really exciting! Had a comment regarding the command squad, though: about a year ago, I played a mod that added three or four members to the Force Commander, and it completely gimped his Victory Charge ability. Squad members would get in the way and waste/abort the charge, or the entire squad would get butchered piecemeal due to being strung-out and isolated. Frustrating as all-hell, since that charge was pretty much the mainstay ability for the commander early game.

    On a side note, I think it'd be nice to have the scout squad equip whatever Cyrus carries; full sniper, full shotgun, or full bolters.

    I'd also agree with the suggestion to keep the marine/scout squads at five, not ten. A lot of the campaign maps have really nasty chokepoints that would bottleneck just a ten man squad, let alone that entire bunch. This would also screw with any attempts to be 'tactical' in your fights.

    Agree on tac part.

    Yet i have a suggestion:
    What if you'll remove reinforcement ability from Relay Beacons, and remove healing from them, making them only fall back points and perhaps give it something like AoE damage reduction buff?

    Cuz it was always damn boring to see your marines fighting, making you care about them less, knowing that if they'll die you'll easily revive them via Relay Beacons.

    That is a good idea but it would only work with a special beacon or a drop pod at Mission 2 to reinforce Avitus.

    @horusheretic: I tried to figure out what do you mean by that, but i couldn't figure out myself, wheter it was a method from TT, or some other type (ie. your own / old FoK method)

    personally i think squads should be bigger than 5men its doesn't feel like warhammer if the battles aren't epic

    yeah, but you have to think of playability, the maps simply arn't designed with that many units in mind - it will just become a pathing nightmare as everyone tries to scrum through the terrain

    2 ways around that is a) dont bunch up your squads any person whos played tabletop for a long time you'd know that
    b) i think people have found out how to change maps for campaign if you used the community map pack there are a alot of maps which support large squads

    Shall I mention that Warhammer isn't all about huge grand-scale armies? I shall point you to Kill Teams, Inquisitor (now Dark Heresy) and Necromunda. Go Google them before saying "its doesn't feel like warhammer if the battles aren't epic".

    Kill Teams was actually quite a popular subset of the main 40k rulebook, before it was removed.

    Besides, the fluff doesn't just depict huge, epic armies clashing over entire planets. Ever read Eisenhorn? Brothers of the Snake? Plenty of 40k revolves around individual, and not interplanetary, conflicts.

    Tyranids and Orks don't go around in small groups, I must say.
    SM and Eldar do.


    I think it might be able to code a scar function that allows for larger squads, like "Annihilate Battle" option or such.

    Base Coding: normalising the code and such.
    quite a bit done, though still needs finishing and testing.
    still abilities, weapons and the odd bit here and there to be done.

    Special coding: the stuff we will actually add like special weapons and armours, extra abilities...

    Not started till the base code is done.

    Campaign:
    halted untill all the units have there stats and weapons sorted.

    Model wise:
    not much from the last preview, although ill probably sneek in a peek for you later.

    aside from that im quite busy with RL matters atm :/

    all that aside: Chaos rising is out soon so Progress will likely pick up heavily after that.

    armour upgrades now visually changing for the FC when you upgrade them.

    storm bolter on powered armoured marines = <3
    but personally i liked how they command squad have it in FOK holding it 2handed it looks a bit unnatural too me

    the SB is located in that handed, other wise it doesnt look right.

    implementing wargear that changes based on squad level for multi player and skirmish, rather than having an online achievement system

    also squads will get access to bonuses and such depending on level. the higher the level they reach which will make you think more about preserving your squads to aim for the high rollers... literally.

    squad bonuses will be different per squad type too.

    Currently this is for the tactical marines, as its still under implementation

    Also, if you don't have a texturer send me a PM, i've never done a real texturing job for a Mod(just some private mods here and there to give the FC a beard ) but i always wanted to try my hand at something like this.

    i'd also spam up lots of piccies of the new dread weaponry and such but its been seen before!

    oh, and i love Relic for using the forge world chaos dread model..

    it means i can put my chaos dread bad boys to use and have dedicated dreads.

    I hope that the next expansion adds Tau as well, and not just IG. The Blood Ravens are on the Eastern Fringe after all, and the Tau just love to stick their noses in everything.

    I dont know if you should go a long with the dirty-metal look to their armor, i always imagined GK's having bright silver armor with blood splattered here and there, with a halo around them.

    Ok weve discussed it and the results are going to be:

    SM faction becomes the imperium of man faction.

    the hero you choose determines the faction you play.

    Hero's will be:

    Force commander: SM race. that includes the apothecary and techmarine as sub heros. they should still be able to have there own wargear upgrades as previous.

    GK Grandmaster: IG and GK as allied.
    since the IG currently do not have a worthy hero atm ¬¬

    3rd hero will eventually be the canoness. for you guessed it

    Awesome, it just needs more bling and it will be properly ready !

    A pity there are no techpriests. They could go well with IG, while the GK and Sisters would naturally form an Inquisition faction (with Deathwatchers).
    But well, the Developer chat did mention that new race files for modders might be included. That would be a great opportunity for unique IG or Inquisition race.


    Anyway, nice update.

    EDIT: I made wargears for the Librarian as a hero for Wrath of the Blood Ravens mod. I am willing to allow this mod to use it.

    blue prints are a common thing in the imperial armour books

    i'll be using them to make leman russes and such. usually i'd do it by eye and take half the day tweaking the model to get it looking right. that's one thing i'm not looking forward to with the sentinel, all that's relatively easier to model than some of the other things i've done

    i eat sleep etc like most people do. sleeping not so much. my time in this world is limited, so i decide to sleep a quarter the time.

    im running on hyper power currently. ive learned to switch it on and off on the fly XD.

    it comes in handy when i havent slept in a day or 7

    how in gods name do you intend to get that in game though?
    people said there was going to be no importer, or exporter. yet i carried on modelling anyway. failure or success, i will continue to do what i like to do

    even if nothing good comes of the models, they are my creation. my children of passion and creativity realised. ok im gonna stop there before i go all warped and twisted.
