    Base Building? Awesome. Will we get the chance to turtle around now that the maps have so many chokepoints? or are you going to redesign and/or make new maps to go with the mod so that they're more open?

    Still, i always thought the base building in DoW I was excessive, but i welcome the return of base building with open arms.

    buildings will be limited to 2 at the most. even then most races will only get upto 2 buildings... troops and vehicles. the hq may be rebuilt but limited to 1. it will likely become more commander/special units and hold the research while the other buildings are more production orientated. chaos might get a sacrificial pit or something... depends what i can do with the code on that

    its not against our progress, one that we have a pretty decent clear goal and means of reaching

    this way we also accommodate both styles by minimising on both and compromising.

    No base building=/=Progress

    CoH in my opinion is infinitely better than DoW II and it has Base building. I'm not saying that base building is required, i'm sayin taking it out does not equal progress.

    Anyway... i've got one huge mega surprise coming up soon so, if any updates aren't posted for a while, it'll be that reason.... although ill probably update something knowing me

    This is the only clue you'll get till the big reveal (ive still to model it all )

    NO BANEBLADES!

    they won't scale will with current DoW2 maps, or any for that matter... and they need to have a super heavy crush that kills heavy armor and vehicles.

    CoH.... *shudders in terror* . Please do not remind me of turrets that can not shoot in 360 firing arc. That little feature still brings me nightmares.

    Warlord Titan... I guess I will be seeing some Mechanicus after all !

    Personally I don't like base building much... but I do love turret creeping. And if bases are needed to turret in all those nice chokepoints... than, "all power requires sacrifice", or what Sindri said !

    Only thing I support is building emplacements like sandbags and stuff, the rest makes me cringes badly... I just don't like base building, they are stationary liabilities, especially in Company of Heroes.

    tau devilfish or hammerhead or skyray!! they are all build on the same frame, like rhinos or chimeras
    now we get to kill xenos with some decent fight in them (orks dont count they want to fight tau try to avoid it)

    legs where somewhat easy enough. lots of FFD for the main rounded parts and a few welds and bridged faces here and there for the knees and ankles.. feet where a little annoying to get right form the pic i had ¬¬

    Oh yea Horus just a time thing, How long does it take to make 1 model from scratch? and hour,,,,minutes,,,,,,days?
    consistantly? probably a few hours for a tank, maybe a few more for a trooper based on how many polies it has, weapons and such. both vehicles and troopers will use different techniques to model them, though vehicles are far easier to do and learn.

    most of my day consists of doing lots of random things as i loose interest some times and start other things to keep me focused.

    i may do a whole model or two or sometimes just the leg or an arm and watch something. it allows me to think about how to go about modelling the more complex parts and then i get them done quickly as i know what im going to do :P

    Horus, just a friendly tip, the modified da'vinci pose makes rigging UNGODLY amounts easier... why they do the regular Da'Vinci pose is beyond me. Also the feet have a joining vertesi...

    you mean the pose i have now? or the x pose (in red)as in this ?


    tau warrior almost done the head was really annoying ¬¬ darn shape of it was just horrible. the leg vertex isnt joining either, its just how the legs are. i might change the spike bit a little though.


    i usually do the cross pose by default as it makes everything easier to model and uv map more than anything.

    ill use the guard anims for this in the mean time. when we can edit animations and export them ill rescale the model and required animations, and tweak them to be more "tau" like.

    voices, atm arent a problem. FX will be eventually.

    coding is not at that point tbh, since CR updated quite a bit we've started recoding it so we dont miss any important bits of code and such that we may use later.
