    Odd request: Blank map

So, this is an odd request, but I'm wondering if it's possible to get a blank map? I.e. one where terrain is all removed and replaced with a colour block, and effects like fog etc are also removed.

Just wondering cos I'm looking into taking out in game renders, and a blank map should in theory make this a lot easier, right?

Well firstly why don't you wait a tad longer for the actual .model importer/exporter.

But if you're not looking for an actual ingame model, and just want a screenshot, then how come you can't make the map yourself? If you have DoW II then you have the World Builder.

Perhaps he's merely asking if its possible?

Well, I'm also too short on time to do it myself.
And I can't get world builder to load, my specs aren't good enough.

    I'll keep on asking, so.

But if you can't get the WB to load, how do you propose to open a map someone else has made...

    As a mod?

Oh you mean an ingame render. Okay, how many players, and what size? And what colour do you want the ground to be?

    Oh, thanks for offering!

I suppose black would be the best colour for the BG, you can make it 1on1 is it's easiest, and the map should be big enough so that you can take a screenshot without annoying terrain in the way in the middle.
(I suppose it needs a powernode too at each base, if we ever wanna get to T3).

So are you aiming to take screenshots using various units? In that case the ground should probably be blue so it can be Photoshopped out. And if you need resources, you can just run DoW 2 in -dev mode and use ScAR to add them.

Well, blue might appear in the units, ya see, but so would black, true true. Whatever would be easiest to remove, is the best option, indeed!

And free res with dev mode, noted
