An early WIP of a piece I'm doing as a present for my nine year old cousin's birthday. Right now worried about getting the atmosphere right, since I hardly ever do these kind of enviros.

Don't know how I'm going to find time to finish it though. XD But I've been promising her a flying giraffe for years and I can't keep putting it off.

<Kalimac>Schakal - he's the hero #art deserves... but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him, set the dogs on him, because he can take it.
<***>god was sitting on the swiss alps and making germans. and the ones he didn't get right, he just tossed over his shoulder...

Fighter groups are the bane of capital ships, whose anti-fighter defenses are easily overwhelmed by the swarm tactics employed by anti-ship fighters. Corvettes like the Atacama class are therefore essential to any fleet engagement - able to neutralize the fighter threat at long range; where its maneuverability and speed allows it to engage fighters easily, and also serve as hunter killers against fast warships like frigates.

Standard loadout for the Atacama class are missiles and cannons, as well as an extensive array of shielding and electronic warfare equipment.

48x92 portrait of an American tanker in Iraq, mainly went for fast, sketchy, and more graphic strokes. Lips seem a bit too low, but I was on a pretty strict time limit and by the time I noticed they'd already been inked.

ooh, sweet, get to see how you work.

I'm gradually ramping up my motivation to start doing some myself... just so... busy... and lazy...

It's actually really hard to get motivated to do personal work when I spend all day doing arts at work anyways

Still jealous of how much Talros absolutely pwns vehicle designs.

All the same, here's a WIP of a speed environment, yay. Gonna try to polish her up a little more and deal with some issues before I call it done.

Looking good BS (... ok, not such a good acronym...) - I'd also like to see a vid or two of your own process if you get the chance. I'm pretty sure you're working in black and white with overlay colours and a little bit of post?

TONIGHT being Thursday night (it's 4:18pm here as I type) I will do at least one art and post it here. I'll try to record it too. It may suck royal monkey bottoms. You have been warned.

Yup, black and white with overlay and some other random layer styles. I don't usually start with color for environments. I'm trying out some new techniques with this one, once I get them hammered down better I will try to record something.

And yeah, please just call me Balance. XD Wish I had picked a better artist handle.

    Good luck with your piece!

Ouch. Snapped tibia. Somewhere Joe Theisman is cringing.

(leg doesn't bend that way. if you want to point the toe in, point the knee in too, or it looks really painful)

Just saw Talros' video. Very impressive. There's so much work behind what seems like an effortless painting. I recognize the soul searching you do at the beginning, finding some sort of harmony in the cluster of abstract shapes. Reminds me of Sparth's way of painting. Is it just me or do you find the process draining as well? I find I always distract myself afterwards for a long time before I get recharged.

So, what in your frame of reference is a "lightship?"

I came upon the term lightship when I was trying to find a suitably unique term for optically cloaked ships. I thought it fitting to call it such as it bends light around it to achieve such an effect.

WIP of a character I'm trying to squeeze in between freelancing and night classes.

Still got a lot of cleaning up/tweaking to do though.

WIP image that will be included in my architecture thesis project.

Normally I don't do this type of stuff, and most of the time, architectural work is done with reasons to back them up (rules, sometimes real-life code issues, etc.). But hey, this is thesis and there are few limitations what I can't do
