Did this in class the day I posted the original, made it more nouveau but haven't fixed the hip yet. Made the hair more realistic though but need to make it more windswept to be more like Mucha.

It's the internet. People like and dislike what they want. Including ponies. Although questioning one's tastes condescendingly, especially in a thread with (spammalicious!) artistic context, makes you sound like a bounder.
Edit: Might as well add I've liked everything so far in this thread for the last few months. Lots of variety here. Wish we had more activity. Wish I had more time to draw too!

Wip! Dunno what it is exactly, just having some fun. Did this while listening to The Black Company audio book, its based on a scene where one of the characters throws a smoke demon out of his pocket. It'll be more smokey when I'm done. 2 hours so far.

i think i'm going to use a square brush in PS from now on. Circle just doesn't offer the control that i want anymore.
Also - my graphire pen has broke. I am le sad
they're so expensive to replace that i might as well upgrade to an intuos that i'll never use

Jopax, the picture looks really flat - there isn't any good depth of field on it.
you should at least transform the textures so that they fit with the objects in that yo are applying the texture to
Damn, that wasn't so obvious last night X(
And there were no textures used, I just smacked around some custom brushes until it looked ok from a distance, the problem is I think that I didn't really make an effort to make it all fit together because I was so carried away with the central cliff piece (also the reason the background is kind of half-assed).

Always good to see traditional art up in here.
Jopax, yeah, scenes are kind of difficult to pull off, what with sense of depth and all that.
Practise, practise, practise, and you'll be where you want in no time at all.

the girl has some really wonky joints. typically the foot points in the same direction as the knee since the ankle doesn't have any supinating joints like the wrist.
it also seems like you're trying to hide the the majority of the arms and hands so that you don't have to draw them.
also, shoulder joint
that line going into the armpit shouldn't be there as that line would be defining the shoulder muscle of the back. the body of the arm should be in front of it
