Sting, perhaps you could start using wings3D or Gmax.

nope, you just need to take some time for it, that "DoGa" is something I tried myself, its not actually modelling, wings3D is pretty easy to understand, Gmax is just like wings3D, search the internet for help. Wings3D got a forun if im right.

I have spent time with both programs, before I even knew about DoGa. My mind refuses to understand it.

You may want to try SketchUp. It's probably more powerful than the program you're using and won't explode your brain like every other modeling program ever.
(Incidentally, my avatar is an overpaint of a model I made in SketcUp. It's plenty powerful as long as you don't try to make organic things.)

Quick paints caused by #art's suggestions. One was an octopus riding a motorcycle with a boomerang, next was a flying cyborg bear with missles, and finally was a wizzard with a staff that shoots lighting and shockwaves.

Here's something small Im working now. Just trying to get a picture of my hero in a Mutants and Mastermind campaign I'm playing in.

Any tips before I go any further with it? To put it in context he's generating a shield.

Oh wow. I also didn't realize the right hand is facing the wrong way. So aside from that give me your input.

Perhaps spread his legs a bit, also maybe straighten his left arm so his posture seems more stable and firm

I retooled some older design sketches to make myself feel better about having almost zero non-Outsider work from the last 10 years. I don't usually mess with old stuff, because it's really dangerous. As you can see.

Hey guys, i have a question to ask of you, im writing a paper on Photoshop, and i am trying to show that it's more than just an image manipulation tool, and i was wondering if i could use some of your works, but those that were done using custom brushes heavily to show the possibilities of the program if used properly.I would use 2-3 images maximum and would like to have your approval of using them.I will list the credit to the author with the image. Not sure which ones i will use, when i decide i will ask the authors specifically if they allow their use.

All cool with me, I doubt Chrome or Talros would have any objections to some extra exposure. Might be a while before you'd hear from Talros though, he's a bit more sporatic.

I might suggest you flip my image horizontally if you can--after I posted that I decided I go with a mirrored version, works better flow-wise imo. That's just me being nitpicky. XD Gaaagh I really need to do another enviroment soon.

BTW I forgot to say as much earlier, but I very much approve of your paper topic.
So sick of people who can't read anything past the name of the program. Eyes need to be opened!

Not sure if I should move my 3D efforts to the model thread down in Tanis or not. They could certainly use more spaceships with textures.

Anyway, one of the several spaceships that, until recently, existed only as figments of my imagination and lines on paper. Well, they're still figments of the imagination, but at least they're a little closer to solid when rendered in 3D.

That's pretty cool Fish Of Doom, his posture is very well done. His right knee looks a bit off though, but that could just be me hehe

I'm bored as of late waiting for responds on a job application, it's also too hot to paint warhammer stuff so I did it virtually.. Who in their right mind sits inside doodling in full hot summer weather.

I tried to go for a very low quality model, (ala WoW), the texture is pretty high quality though (1024*1024) this will eventually be scaled down to half of that. Lots of errors as I'm still an amateur in modelling and texturing.

Feel free to brutally C&C hehe

    Fish of Doom.
what brush setting are you using to do your roughs?
I suggest a harder setting since it will be easier on the eyes to tell what's wrong
and also, smudge can easily get it up to blurriness where you want

it's fine to have a completely sharp drawing
since you can smooth it down easily
but not so much to have a completely blurry rough
