    AI Issues in my Maps?

    Using v2.601 on XPsp3 so I assume the WB is the latest version. Thanks to all on this site for the great info that has taught me how to start making maps for CoH, many thanks. I am making 4p maps to use on my home LAN with friends against AI opponents. Maps are simple by the standards I have seen here, but they work okay and play well except for the AI. First, the AI will never repair a bridge, even if expert and it is the only way out of their base. If I repair it, the AI will use it. If I destroy it, the AI will ignore it again. Is this a bug or is there something I am missing in the construction of the map? Second, the AI is not very aggressive, even at expert. Compared to the stock MP maps, the AI is far less aggressive. I notice this with all the maps I have downloaded although my maps tend to be even less aggressive. Are there aspects of the map that influence this? I am only making simple maps now with flat terrain, buildings, trees, rivers, bridges, objects and splines. So am I not using an aspect of WB that I need to learn? Any guidance, if there is any, on this subject is most appreciated. My maps are simple but they look good and play great if only the AI would get into the game.

    Resource points and way points

    showpro, I noticed a marked improvement in the AI by making sure resource points are not too close to other objects. It seems to confuse the AI and they camp.

    Using way points makes a huge difference; the AI is far more aggressive. Nobody's "Trainz" map is a good one for seeing how he uses way points.

    One more thing, do not use the "ai_military_high" marker. I hear it doesn't work well and may create problems.

    Since I've followed these practices, the maps are functioning outstandingly. All AI players operate at them same level, consistantly.

    Thanks. I will make some resource point adjustments to my latest map and see what happens. I have not had the guts to try any of the marker functions on the map, do not understand how to use them yet so none are present. Have not tried waypoints either, I will see if I can get the Trainz map in sgb form to open it and see what has been done in WB. Otherwise, I will have to do some training on using those elements.

    it was my understanding that AI markers dont work period.

    I have tried to adjust way points in the past, but have never been able to figure that out.

    Thanks for the tip Porta, I will bear that in mind. I am going to reduce the number of resource and spread them out better first, and see what effect that has on the AI. Still trying to figure out why the AI will not repair a bridge.

    Was this fixed in the latest 2.602 patch because i have a seen a few maps that use the "AI_military_high" marker which have been made mid to late 2011 and the map plays good but how do we know if they are working correctly or not?
