The only Panzer III's in use by COH's time line were Ausf. N's, which were only used in training platoons. This is probably why Relic didn't make a Panzer III. I had originally thought they were still in combat use, but I was mistaken. A Panzerbeobachtungswagen III is on the list, so if Aidas finishes his Panzer III and makes a PzBeow III state, then I can bundle them all together for those that want to use the PzKpfw III.

Although the general profile is the same, you are confusing the 75mm GMC M3 with the 57mm GMC T48 (aka SU-57). They are both M3-based with a modified anti-tank gun built in. As for my minor projects, I have decided to include them in the list.

Actually, having just woken up, I misread that as Daimler Armoured Car. I don't remember if the Dingo I have is UV mapped, but it is otherwise animated and ready to go. It is missing a wreck, though.
Yeah - I think we have the same versions for both (and go figure we animated them both too).
Beef UV mapped the Dingo. So we are in the same boat more or less with those two (except I don't have the wreck or textures for the Daimler AC, but that's neither here nor there since in the end you're looking to put it out here).

I think everybody admires GnigruH's skins, but he was banned a long with Geo, for bitchfighting with each other again and again. He also left CoH completely, so no more skins from him unfortunately, but lets NOT get into that shit again here. If you want to know more you can PM me about it.

The Autocar model looks good, Eli, from your latest pic, i assume your animating it so that the barrel will be able to elevate right up so we have the option of using it like indirect-fire arty?
Antiquated 1897 gun or not it could still knock a hole in 3 inches of armour at 500 yards. Plus it made an excellant support fire weapon.

Nope. In my opinion, long range artillery can wait, since it can be handled off-map for the most part. Our focus for the short-term is to get more useful models into the game, such as tanks, tank destroyers, armored/scout cars, self-propelled AA mounts, etc.

it looks quite nice indeed, but it definately could use more detail.
the Gun will also have states that will toggle between the M1 version and the M2 version, and a state to toggle between a wheeled carriage or the one that is shown in the preview.
i will add more details, though i plan to put a lot of the details with textures, since putting to much little objects in and stuff makes UV mapping a big pain

The M2 version is pictured, where-as the M1 version lacks the gunshield and could not be depressed to aim at targets lower than 0 degrees. The M1 was still used as an anti-tank gun in Italy, but the inability to aim downwards made it limited in where it could be sited. The M2 was standardized and used in Western Europe.
Was also used as substitute artillery in Italy, but nearly everything was, including tank-destroyer units of M10 Wolverines and M5 3" guns!

Also another interesting factoid.
The M3 75mm half-tracks (The vehicle pictured above) deployed in Italy for use by the 1st Special Service Force also mounted an 81mm mortar in the back. Shell it directly or mortar it indirectly.![]()
Why does it need more detail, the skin can do that, tbh it looks good, so dont clutter it up with a load of unecessarry tris like is being suggested.
As it is id say its 3000 plus, and for a field\AA gun thats plenty.
I agree. Unless there's a detail that protrudes more than a couple inches from a surface, there's no reason to model it into the mesh. Almost all of the handles, bars, rivets, notches, indents, tools, slits, and other details of Relic CoH models are just part of the skin rather than the mesh.

The thing is, it's only boxes and cilinders right now, like the end of the gun is just a box. I think it would be good searching for some more reference.

yes the 90mm was a bit, blocky
of course a few things will be off or missing, but thats to reduce the polygon count and to keep things simpler
also, version with the carriage and the m1 version, trying to also keep they poly count lower

60 more tris on top of the recoil mechanism/main block and your done, to match the top of the slide to the one in the picture. Carriage is fine so is gun traverse plate/platform. Make sure theres no faces on it and the underside of the cross mount & platform, that should give you most of those tris back. Apart from those finishing touches (which you knew about anyway) i think its fine. Oh & stabalising plates on the carriage version legs.
also wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. since i havent found any videos of the 90mm firing (which is kinda odd), does anyone one know which part of the barrel recoils

From the composition of the model I would say only the barrel recoiled and the main body would vibrate.
Here's a large picture of 3 of them in Korea. The middle one has its breach retracted a lot further back than the other two that just fired, but this might just mean the breach is slid back when its reloaded, rather than it actually recoiling when fired.
