First Off the Sturmgeshutz III G (Stuh) With all its stowage showing. Stowage is in one group and hideable in state. It also has the usual tools added, and a few extras.Plus a new, barrel, wheels, treads, suspension, copula, loaders hatch engine hatches, exhausts, Main gun securing mount, horn, headlight, rear radiators Left and right, and extra fuel cans. Plus the top roof replaced with a new one, to allow for the interior of the copula and the loaders hatch interior when the mg is manned.

Now Default Stugg III, Because these are spammed ive kept the base items to the minimum on it, just tools exstinguisher a new Gun barrel and a couple of fuel cans. Ive done both pics with the skirts off, but obviosly they work the same as the Stug IV vanilla skirts, including the damage ect, just theres 4 of them instead of 5, and the shapes slightly differant.

Now the finnish stug, Logs are on the stowage texture as are the straps, and they will be made to toggle on and off, When on obviously the side fuel cans will be off.

The skirts and barrels are intrchangeble, as are the gun mounts. I wouldent advise the skirts on the finnish version it looks daft, as the mounts poke through the logs. All in all theres not a lot left of the origional, as was stated previously the model was done 3 years ago and was geared towards the polys we could support back then. & Lacked a lot of the finer details needed to make it pleasing to the eye.
The most exspensive poly model is the StuhIII G at 4400 poly ingame. but it has a shedload of extras, and they can be toggled.
Finnish version is cheap only about 2800, the default StuggIII about 3000 poly.
But all these are dependant on what you toggle on and off and what you decide to use. for instance if you turn the stowage on on the Finnish version and put the Stuh Gun and securing mount on, it will go up to a hair over 3900 poly.
All in all i think theres somewhere near 12 differant combinations of stowage logs and gun you can whistle up. and the parts are plainy marked. Naughty Eliwood not reading StugIII_SkirtRack and leaving them turned on, on his Finnish picture. If id wanted them on the Finnish Version.id have called them Finnish_StupidBits_theyForgot To_UnBolt.
Anyways a lot of care has gone into this one. Even though i didnt make the base i can honestly say ive spent more time on this, then any of the others ive played with apart from my old grant and autocar. And who knows by the time ive finnished re uvwrapping it it may exceed them. But it has been enjoyable, so i wont bitch about it too much.

That can just be skinned, so I would say yes. I can add the marker for it, and hopefully Inukshuk can add a "hole" for it.
Tha's okay mate. I am sure Widow or Xali or some other sensei will make their version of the texture but I have the honor to skin it from sratch and give it its introductory look.Oh yea totally forgot Inukshuk, sorry dude! Can't wait for it.
I will make a gelb version and the StuH will have a coat of zimmerit - is my approach. On this base any sort of camo can be added. I will have to make some research as to the Finnish colors but I would expect them to be feldgrau with crude strokes of winter camo.
@DMz I love how you made the facial rivets and the periscope and some other bits 3D. I will add welding and my little pieces of detail 2D.
@inukshuk, im 90% convinced that you can probebly do the rivets with skin and nrm, but im not entirely sure, because they are quite prominant on the gun mount. Anyway you can see after all the messing about, why i wasnt to keen on you starting the skin till id decided what would be a final version. In the end we ended up adding an aweful lot of the missing parts icluding the visible suspension . So what we had as a uvmap will probebly end up completly differant. Oh i made you 2 new barrels so now i think youll be able to get the detail on them you were asking for. As for the rivits, ive kept them on seperate meshes and if you think you can get a decent effect using skin, we can save a couple of hundred tris and delete them. At least you havent got to mess about with the stowage, i got all of that and the logs and fuel cans onto a 512x512 texture using relic texture parts and rearranging theyre uv layouts onto it. Even the logs got uvmapped onto a part of the relic wooden bunkerthen transfered onto the same texture.
At last!, Bloody awesome work on the stug! No more freakin STUH on Pz4. Great stuff

I also have a notification from a friend that he is also interesting on skinning that beauty STUG III. As far he told me he had made a previous version from scratch , but he lost it . He is also though remember some elements on that skin as far as other WIP , you may found interesting and contact him,more details for him from @eliwood.
My personal opinion is that the author who will try to skin it it must make all the proper work and if he likes he release it as well as he want's it. It's nice to see that COH live up again,too much stack in that game and WIP lately.

@DMz, I think the rivets are good idea, no way I could get them with 2D! As far as the skin goes here is an idea I have.
This is what I was thinking of. This is my Panzer III ingame and I textured it gelb. The model itself is MoW but I totally re-skinned it.
Also re-textured the stug decals, here is an image of it.
Maybe not so tinted, but this is the idea I have in my head. On this I can add cloud-like camo, light, worn, rusty with rust leaks. Also marking, numbers the whole show.

Its what hes using as a base. its a bit like Scuiffs old stuff dirty in appearance. He then works from that puts his camo on reduces or increases weathering and adds zimmerit to his nrm & maybe a very faint duplicated layer onto his final dif. Its a pain in the ass to do and time consuming, and from what im seing he is good at it, unlike me. inuksuk, ill do some alpha cutouts for you round the wheels once youve skinned the Stug, that way the wheels will look right unlike the stowage wheel on the back of the PIII in your pic. Alos the guy who converted it needs to smooth it properly and weld it properly theres some straight edges showing where it should be curved on the stowage items. but its not bad at all overall for a conversion.
Okay sounds good DMz. This is "gelb" and on it goes all the other stuff. I put chipping and metal edges/corners on this layer and add weathering, rust leaks around rivets and stuff on a second and third layer. Also a shade of whitewash and dirt where applicable. But the base is this gelb which is Afrikagelb. Mind you this yellow is quite authentic for early 1945 when lot of their panzers came out Afrikagelb because the paint factories were all destroyed by then and that is what they had in stock in huge quantities.
Anyway this is just to show you what I have in mind for the StuH (and Stug III). A shade greener maybe. Just a hair really.
For zimmerit I researched extensively I will use a square type all chipped and worn and will paint it also THEN put it on a normal map. So it wont be 3D effect only it will be also painfully painted in detail.
Where did you get that Panzer III from? Once we have the StuG III animated, we could use it as a base of animation for a Panzer III.

Remember I wrote you about my lack of skills in animating? This is one of those vehicles. Its an MoW model so I only use it for my own purposes because I have no permission to do otherwise. Its animated as much as I could do it but it acts up so I only use these for skinning practice. I learn a lot from how they UV the vehicle and I can reverse engineer it then skin it. I dont like MoW skins very much and this gives me practice. I dont wanna get into legal arguments either, this model is fine if its only in my own mod but other then that its totally no-no. Good dummies though to practice on.
You know, I am fairly certain N44 has a Pz III, but I dont know if its animated. Ask Sweeten about it. In any case you dont like models from other games anyway.
(Actually the stug decals fit perfectly on this little bugger).
Ah, a MOW model. I didn't recognize it with the stowage. Totally understand what you're saying. The Panzer III is not that important for late war anyways, except for maybe the PzBeobWg III. But, that can come later. I like the skin, though!

Daimler Armoured and Scout Cars have been released. Thanks to inukshuk for helping with the textures, DMz for adding wreck and crush models and 130th Panzer for making the models to begin with! If there are any other credits I am missing, please let me know and I will correct them.
Please keep in mind that these were animated from scratch to the best of my ability and available time, so they are not perfect. I have included all files needed if anyone wants to try and do better.
I tried to add the Boys AT Rifle to the Dingo, but I am not very good with attribs and had a hell of a time trying to get it to work, so you guys will just have to sort it out.

We have MrScruff to thank for the Daimler Scout Car, actually. There was a mixup at some point and I ended up with the "wrong" model, which I believed to have been made by 130th Panzer, but was in fact made by MrScruff. Thanks to tankdestroyer for pointing that out, and the credits have been corrected.
what is the launcher marker for the daimler armored car, because the round are not exiting from the barrel
also, you were saying something earlier about trying to get the dingo to use the boys AT rifle.
I checked all of the files and they all should work, but for some reason it doesnt, everything points to everything correctly and is basically set up the same way as that of the vickers mg upgrade for the bren. maybe someone else could look at it, or maybe there is a state that has to be mentioned in the file for the weapons animation table
If that's the case, there must be a conflict with the RGO then. I remember having similar issues with the Universal Carrier...
