    Thank you! These are max renders I think the riveting will stand out a whole lot better with the normal map. Eli will slap a .50 cal on it I suppose. There is a mount for it on the model. I think DMz did a great job!

    That is very nice work Inukshuk. Im glad to see her coming into game at long last after almost 2 years of waiting .

    Oh the mount takes a vickers on the front or a 50 cal, its universal, plus theres also a rear mount for a 30cal in the corner. I believe sweeten has a way to get the rear mount to actually fire correctly from the corners now. But after hearing his recent news im loathed to ask him for tips.

    I must say now it has a skin it looks much better then i thought it ever would.

    I am truly pleased that you like it. Its a beautiful model and having worked on it I fell in love with this babe. All is left to do now is weathering, chipping the paint, give it a dent on the fenders, dirt maybe. I restructured some elements of the UV as there was some unwanted overlap. I think I might separate the front grill covers to be able to give it white allies-star. I will also double check the wheels. The present UV Map is a little oval right now and I had a helluva time skinning it as I had to compensate for the shape.
    I am also working on a desert skin for British service. Researching for historical accuracy atm. I am sure Eli can give it a proper texture selection state. With a selection between a Vickers and a .50cal it will be further detailed for different deploy.
    All in all it was one of the most enjoyable models I had the privilege to skin. Very nicely and accurately detailed. It even has the undercarriage detailed to the point that I started losing my hair texturing it, lol.

    Yes uv is my fault, one of the older ones, i made it in milkshape and was very rusty at the time as i hadnt made one for over 3 years prior to it.... Feel free to do whatever you like with it mate, im sure it will be fine. Sorry about the axels driveshafts and suspension plus steering racks, i got carried away .

    lol, especially that nobody can see those. Do you want me to get rid of those or is it low poly still...I haven't checked in max? Also, I meant to ask you: the two little 'flags' on the fenders...what is the purpose of those? I have looked at probably dozens of sites for references and never found any examples of those on an M3 White.
    I will rearrange the uv map a little then, thank you for your permission. I should be done with the texturing soon, Eli said something like 'its easy animation since its wheels only' so I think we will see this baby ingame soon enough.

    A 2.8cm schwere Panzerbuchse 41 auf leichter Feldlafette 41 if I'm not mistaken!

    Basically a light anti-tank gun mounted on lightweight carriage for use by Fallschirmjager units, although some found their way into infantry formations. Fired special tungsten core ammo with decent AP performance (up to 60mm thick armour at 100m).

    Edit: There was also an official variant of the SdKfz 250 designated SdKfz 250/11 that also mounted this gun and carried the light weight carriage on the back so that the gun could be dismounted and used in the field. Intended as a supplement to the SdKfz 250/10 platoon command vehicle but not as numerous. I've also seen photos of SdKfz 251/7 pioneer vehicles towing or even mounting this gun as well in place of the usual forward MG mount.

    It was very useful in 1941 and 1942, but with the increase in armour protection for tanks and tungsten shortages, the weapon gradually became redundant as a credible AT weapon but was still useful at countering light armour - in fact it had better AP performance than the 3.7cm PaK 35/36. As mentioned before, it saw a fair bit of service with Gebirgsjäger (mountain troops) and Fallschirmjäger (paratrooper) units and could also be found in the Panzerpioneer Kompanies.

    It served pretty much until the end of the war, or at least until the supply of spare barrels and special ammo ran out.

    Eliw00d wanted it for the 251 pioneer halftrack. & a couple of other variants, ive made it so it can be used seperatly from the carriage just by dropping it on the mounting point of the vehicle. There are some claims that these have taken out shermans at close range. And because of its smooth bore and the tungston rounds it did have better better penetration stats then the 37mm pak.

    Yup, it could punch through the side and rear of most medium tanks. They were also found on Sd Kfz 221 armoured cars in place of the machine-gun.

    @Aidas2, i really dont see how you can make a 2 segment shield using textures, and get it to look right, plus as im skinning it i think it wise for me to decide what i can and cannot do. Also at the poly count it has it really wouldent matter if i gave the wheels seperate tyres, and inner hub caps to boot. Ive also given up skimping too much on model details, i think below 2k tris is quite acceptable for a light at gun and carriage. Plus simulating involves alpha channals, and although i have no problem doing those and alpha cut outs these days, in total it takes me a lot longer to do that then to make the shield as it is.

    @Mirage Knight, i suspect eliwood will use those. Though he may surprise you and provide a custom anim.

    The flak without the shield is a custom model, I think that's not possible with skininstaller, or at least you won't be able to play online then, because this requires an additional model to be installed. Relic's flak does not have the ability for disabling the shield. You only have a chance with a skin, which had the shield parts alpha'd out (erased).

    The gun was mounted on slightly modified SdKfz 221 armoured cars to extend their usefullness. The SdKfz 221 was basically an SdK 223 minus the extra radio equipment and armed only with an MG 34, so yeah

    There was a variant of the SdKfz 250 designated SdKfz 250/11 which, like the 250/10 (AT / Sniper Halftrack in vCOH) served as a platoon leader's vehicle. Although the gun wasn't as good against infantry and sandbagged positions as the 250/10's 3.7cm PaK 35 (due to the smaller shell size), the 2.8cm sPzB had superior AP characteristics.

    The gun was also found mounted on some SdKfz 251/7 Panzerpionerwagen HT's in place of the forward mounted MG, but these were typically platoon leader vehicles that provided fire support for the rest of the platoon.

    Panther G - Mudguards

    Sometime ago I think Xalibur mentioned a problem with the front mudguards of the Ausführung G Panther: Historically they are too long and you cant fix 'em as the Shader used on the custom models does not support Alphachannel.

    I also saw this problem, but I think I've got a solution in order to activate the Alphachannel on the Custommodels to be able to cut the mudguards: I simply entered the name of the Shader used on the Relic model into the Shader field of the Panther_variants.rgm.

    I already sorted them with a new set of mudguards in the newer panthers release m8, plus i altered the side angle on the armour above the tracks when no mudguards are displayed. This is whats on the actual release which is a reworked hull. Was released Back in post #2733 .

    You don't waste any time while skinning do you DMz? The model looks great, and the skin looks great. You said you used parts of the Pak38 and 251 HT skin right? So does it use a new skin that originally used parts of the Pak38 and 251 HT skins, or can it use regular Pak38 or 251 HT skins?

    Sorry to hear about your computer Eli, i hope you enjoyed your weekend away though. I also hope all the files on your computer can be recovered, everything personal, as well as all the CoH-related work you've been keeping quiet. :P

    What you end up with is all the new parts on old texture parts with a few new texture parts added.And a recolour for the camo.
    So no you cant use a halftrack or pak 38 texture sorry.
