    DP-28 textured

    Here is the Russian DP-28 the vehicle counterpart of which I will finish today and showcase it for you guys.
    With less then 500 tris, I think this baby can be added to every Russina squad for the onslaught.
    One of the weaknesses of this otherwise excellent machinegun was its bipod. Very flimsy it coud hardly take the beat it got from firing the 7.62 rounds. On this model of wanted to make sure it shows.

    Then I guess you will like this baby too. The Degtyaryova Tankovy M28 which is very similar to the DP-28 infantry light machinegun. This will go on tanks, and assault guns like the Finn Sturmy which we already have textured the only thing really is this weapon for it.

    I use an old version of the M1919 created by Halftrack (M1919A4) and I like to keep this for riflemen and rangers, and the new for airborne

    Mosin sniper variants

    You all forgot about the Mosin rifles didnt you? They are back with scopes this time. Now they are ready for OE and release.
    The Russian Mosin M30 has its simple scope. The Finn M39 had three sniper variants. I picked the one I like the most. Eli should know which scope it is by name but I just liked the shape. Now the Finns and Russian can just get at each other, lol!

    I know what you are gonna say before I ask it but I just couldnt help it and wanted to know how the DP-28 would look with 3D cooling jacket. The holes are now real, it has the barrel running inside it and the darn thing is still just a touch above 700 tris. Would you like this jacket or the previous one with the holes 2D texture?
    The same would apply for the PPSh41, the Suomi and would be nice to do the MG42 this way two. An average about 200 tris more if its 3D!
    Just asking.
    The other alternative is to run the barrel all the way thru the cooling jacket and alpha the holes! Then its the same tris (under 500). I think the alpha would work too but its just so cool to actually have it 3D. Either that or I am just overdosing on my meds at the moment. lol

    Inuk all Dean and Me did with the 1919a4\6 was have the barrel right through and alpha the jacket, it worked well m8.

    @Dartbone there is no differance between an a4 an an a6 apart from the rate of fire, the guns look identical :/

    M1919A4 version was the standard machine gun used by infantry, both bipod and with tripod,
    the M1919A6 has a buttstock to improve accuracy, and was used by airborne.

    @Dartbone both the A4 and A6 took the buttstock, its held on by a siimple jubilee clip, again the only differance between the 2 guns is the rate on fire, a4 750rpm a6 1000 plus rpm and the a6 wasnt used exclusivly by airborne, rangers and special service force used them aswell as did the marines.

    The MG 34 uses the vehicle MG sound, which in my mind is more or less an MG 34 sound.

    A4 and A6 have the same rate of fire. The AN/M2, which the single "Stinger" was based on, is what you are thinking of for 1000+, since it was designed for aircraft.

    @Eli irrespective m8 they all take the buttstock, its a universal fit. And they look identical, only the stinger would be slightly thinner in the body.

    I`we said it before and ill say it again, those guns are simply amazing. Specially as a Finn i gotta love that Suomi KP. I would also like to thank you all for making all these high quality models, skins and stuff. And i dare say that your work is the single thing that keeps CoH modding community alive.

    Is there a complete readme of installation instructions? ' some assembly required ' isn't helping me much. I've followed the readme's and i have the weapons in the ABPs. ive got pink mosin's and pink ppsh41s, and the mosin's are not in the soldiers hands but floating at the sides. what am I doing wrong?

    Pink either means I made a typo or you put the files into different folders than the ones given to you. I will double check on my end if I slipped up at the last second. If the weapons are floating around, you did not install the Rifles package correctly or have conflicting files.

    i going to reinstall the files again. but i followed the rifles package instructions exactly. i have another question, the mosins have a firing sound but how do i give the ppsh 41s a firing sound? i just want to link it to the firing sound of the mp40 or something.

    The PPSh 41 has sound.

    As for the rifles, did you extract everything, including the Boys AT Rifle? That is imperative.

    yes, i copy & pasted the entire Data folder and everything enclosed. in the soldier's ABPs i have the mosin weapon line, and the boys at rifle weapon line. and i copy and pasted the FE weapons line to paste into the common abps from the readme.

    Open "data\art\models\races\common\commonmeshes.abp" and change the following line:

    "..\\commonwealth\\Soldiers\\Weapons\\Boys_AT_Rifle",

    To:

    [[..\British\Weapons\Boys_AT_Rifle\Boys_AT_Rifle]],

    no, i only have the eastern front mod installed. i am trying to add them to this. I am NOT trying to replace the files that EF put it place for their ppsh 41s and mosins. i reinstalled the files again by the readme, for the mosin and ppsh41 and i reinstalled the submachine guns and rifles files again by the readme, and i've got my abp's back to how they were so i can start over.

    i feel like the biggest dummie. i had the wrong reference lines in the soldier ABPs. instead of soviets//weapons//etc. i had russians//weapons/etc. oops. let me see if they work now



    EDIT: @eliw00d, in the soldiers' abps, do i reference the FE rifles AND the vm_91_30_rifle?

    now I'm just getting RGM error boxes. what lines to do i need in the soldier ABPs? i have tried several different ones and am still getting the boxes. I know my files are in the right places.

    You put the reference to FE rifles in completemotiontree.abp, just like the Readme says. You put the reference to vm_91_30_rifle in the soldier's .abp.

    Missing RGM means that the reference you put in the .abp is pointing to nothing, so make sure you are pointing to the right thing.

    Keep in mind that the ".." means go up one directory from the current location. Depending on where your soldier's .abp is located, two directories up might be too few or too many. Seeing as you are getting missing .rgm errors, that means it is not going to the right place.

    Also, if you use [[ instead of ", you don't need to use \\. For example:

    "..\\..\\Soviet\\Weapons\\ppsh_41_smg\\ppsh_41_smg",

    can be written as:

    [[..\..\Soviet\Weapons\ppsh_41_smg\ppsh_41_smg]],

    I will make a general tutorial for installing this stuff, but there are also other tutorials here at RN.

    Okay. Maybe I threw too much at you all at once. So, let's say your soldier .abp is located here:

    data\art\models\races\russians\soldiers\dudeface_number_9.abp

    and the PPSh 41 is located here:

    data\art\models\races\soviet\weapons\ppsh_41_smg\ppsh_41_smg.rgm

    Think about how you would navigate from the .abp to the .rgm using Windows Explorer. You would go up a directory to soldiers, then another to russians, and another to races, right? That means you go up three directories. That means you would need three sets of ".." to get there, or like this:

    [[..\..\..\Soviet\Weapons\ppsh_41_smg\ppsh_41_smg]],

    I hope that helps explain it better.

    Make sure any new references you have added are pointing to the right places. That's all I can say at this point. Missing .rgm just means that a reference somewhere is not going to the right place. Check your artlog, too, sometimes that can tell you exactly what is wrong.

    Try removing the references to PPSh 41 and VM 91/30, one at a time. See if either, or both, are causing the missing .rgm error. If not, it is something else.
