    The 3-ton Lorry is a pretty large truck in real life, it's a little bit taller than a Sherman tank. It probably is larger than it should be, and I bet that was a design decision since they're used as base buildings (ie. need to look large and impressive), though they might not be /too/ large. I'd have to look at a Sherman and a Lorry side by side in-game to tell for sure.

    Although, the Boys recoils like a machine-gun, so I'll have to find a way to slow down the animation or something...

    damn that looks so overpowered, but it looks lovely, maybe you should make a state for the Bren aswell as the Vickers.

    I don't know how historically accurate that Bren carrier is but I like it. Best reason for it is it makes light vehicles useful longer in my opinion.

    OP, how? It can only penetrate 16 - 19mm of armour at 100 yards, depending on the ammunition used. I guess it will depend on the mod, but in Fortress Europe it would only be effective against some light vehicles or infantry.

    Both of the weapons pictured are additional states to the vanilla ones. However, a Vickers mounted on the pintle is more historically accurate. I also plan on adding an M2HB on the front.

    Both a Vickers and Boys on the same carrier? I'm not sure. I only did it like that to show off both of the new states. However, it is historically accurate to have a Boys mounted on a carrier, just as some LRC vehicles had them as their primary armament.

    Edit:
    As a temporary fix, I disabled recoil altogether for the Boys. It's not bad, actually, and better than recoiling like an HMG. lol

    I'll upload it once I have it finalized.

    It will only be OP if your mod lets it be.

    As for the passengers, you can already download them. Do you know how to add markers to MUAX files? You'll need to add the new markers to the halftrack's MUAX files. I'll write instructions for it later, but here.

    No, the files you are downloading are mixed with your halftrack, you don't touch them. You just edit your existing halftrack's MUAX files and add the markers from the _passengers.muax files. If you don't understand this, please wait until I have time to write a more in-depth tutorial.

    Also, it's important that you change "attach_passenger_animator" to "TRUE" in your halftrack's EBP for this to work. I think there are some other booleans as well, like "can_rotate_in_slot" or something.

    The markers are currently facing the wrong way, I think, so I'll upload a newer version at a later time.

    Oh, right, I suppose you would need that, too. I'll upload that later today. The RAR is one I made for Halftrack, who has canopy-less with alpha changes.

    A quickie question about the fixed Tiger II: Does it still support a top gunner? (ie, like vanilla coh model, but with coaxial)

    As much as I too find the commander popping out of the loader's hatch historically incorrect, I've always let it slide due to the whole "we've got a top gunner too" deal.

    I haven't tested it, but I didn't remove the gunner bones, so most likely it still works. However, I did change some things in the RGO, so it might not. Feel free to test it and LMK.

    What you would probably have to do is apply the "commander_upgrade" for the gunner, but only have the gunner in the crew_ext. That should work...

    Universal Carriers used for scouting roles (Carrier Platoon in an Infantry Battalion, Scout Platoon in a Motor Company) were normally armed with the Bren machine-gun in the forward passenger side. However one Carrier per section (3 per section, 3 to 4 sections per platoon) was armed with a 2" mortar, and another was armed with a PIAT, in the rear positions. Sometimes .50cal M2 HB machine-guns were mounted on top of the forward passenger side as well. Additionally many were armed with a Boys anti-tank rifle in the forward passenger side, with the Bren mounted on a pintle in the back.

    When used as an MMG Carrier in a machine-gun platoon, the Vickers was mounted on top and could be fired from the carrier, or dismounted and fired on the ground. They lacked an additional Bren.

    The Soviets received thousands of Universal Carriers, which were put to use in their Reconnaissance Companies (Rota Razvedki) as armoured transports. Since the Soviets didn't have suitable armoured transports for their reconnaissance infantry, they used carriers, White scout cars, and captured Sd Kfz 251/1 half-tracks for the role. They kept the configuration of a machine-gun on the back pintle and the Boys anti-tank rifle in the forward passenger side.

    So historical combos are:

    British and Commonwealth
    Unarmed, Bren (forward), Vickers (back), Bren (pintle) and Boys (front), Bren (forward) and 2" Mortar (back), Bren (forward) and PIAT (back), Bren (pintle) and M2 HB (forward)

    Soviets
    Bren or DP (pintle) and Boys (front), Bren or DP (front)


    As for German usage, early in the war there were some field conversions that added a PaK36, though these are rare and were not authorized. The Panzerschreck conversion wasn't meant to be fired from the vehicle, instead the launchers were mounted on a top rack and the men would dismount with the launchers close to the target.

    Interesting Boys AT Carrier. I think ideally the Boys states shouldn't be linked to any other weapons, or should behave how the Vickers does when it's upgraded to (ie. reomve the bren for the same slot). The ideal setup would be to give the Bren two upgardes, the current Vickers MMGC upgrade and a similar one that moves the Bren to the pintle and places the Boys where the Vickers would be. The King Tiger tank commander is an interesting idea, however i too would rather keep the MG42 up there (even if it doesn't have a gun ring or mount) instead of a TC. That opinion might change when Halftrack's new KT Henschel turret is released.

    I only showed off the Vickers and Boys at the same time to save on pictures. It will be up to the modder as to which states are used for the Carrier at any given time. Sturm mentioned how we will be using it.

    As far as the KT goes, the gunner should still work, but I have no interest in testing it.

    The gunner works as far as I can tell, though you'll probably have to apply the commander state and remove the commander crew - this is what I use to force my Sherman 76's mg upgrade to open the hatch.

    Actually, I just checked it in OE. I was smart and made it depend on the weapon's states. So, as long as it isn't set to invisible, the pintle will show up.

    Also, I forgot to mention, if it isn't already, make your coaxial weapon use the following state: coaxial_30cal_state

    A few things for today:

    - I will be accepting a limited number of reasonable requests, reasonable in both scope and resources. So, something like adding the star array antenna onto another vehicle would be okay. I'm not familiar with all of Relic's inaccuracies or possible model mixes, so I'm open to suggestion.
    - I have a surprise in store for tonight, as well as time for tidying up anything that is done into a releasable state sometime this week.

    Commanders for all Sherman variants. Seat positions in jeep( if possible ), visible seat positions in army trucks. M1 Garand Grenade launcher ( I know you can model mix ) but it would be much better if it would be in 1 file.

    Seat positions are not possible, unfortunately. The commanders are doable and I'll look into the rifle grenade.

    And no, the surprise is not on the list, otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise.

    Include Commanders on custom models to Commanders as a state, you know when you upgrade then you get commander otherwise you can get m2hb ( for sherman )

    Hmmm, weird i dont see it at the download page, anyway 19. PzGrDiv I think Eliw00d only does OE stuff so its not possible to get to remove the smoke launchers unless there a state of course, or add camo witch is something that needs to be modeled first


    also sitting is possible correct or how else did the EF team do it?

    I don't model, so these would have to be edits or mixes. The unfortunate thing about the Tiger (and some other models) is that a lot of its features are in one mesh, something "goblins". That means if I remove the smoke launchers, I also remove a lot of other details. It might still be possible if I can figure out how to detach things from a mesh and make them their own separate mesh, but my knowledge of that is limited. I already looked into a Tiger I (late) for you, but as I just noted it would be more difficult than it's worth. On the bright side, these would be easy things for a modeler to add for you, and then I could get them in game for you.

    Also, I'm not sure what you mean by camouflage. Do you mean the "stealth" mesh that units use in the game for the camouflage_ext, or do you mean like a skin/texture? If the former, I'd have to look into it. If the latter, I don't skin/texture.
