go with a blue colored and weaker variant of the vaygr battle cruise spinal cannon, as well something that would bring out a good touch for your ship is engine on and off textures and and engine flame weather it be fight path based or capital based, would really bring the finishes to it

As of right now, the forward cannons are the heavy sajkuuk based ones, the side turrets fire the vaygr bc forward cannon, and there are 2 vaygr beam lances. all works really well with the red theme, and the engines glow red so yea.

I don't mean to come off as mean here, but I honestly aren't as impressed with the second video as everyone else. The whole rolling thing looks like junk to me. Mainly for 3 reasons:
1. The way it tends to pitch up and down makes it look out of control much of the time.
2. The way it seems to stop and start at random, and how big a roll it executes seems to chop and change just doesn’t work. Again it looks out of control rather than an actual maneuver.
3. The whole ship doesn’t feel like the sort that should be doing barrel rolls in any case. Look at the Vaygr bomber or the old Khadeshi Ion Fig for example. They're very symmetrical. They look like they make sense when they roll. Yours, the centre of gravity is so clearly off that a straight roll around it's centre axis looks off as the ship looks like it should careen all over the place. Whilst this fits in nicely with say points 1 and 2. It doesn’t make any sense from a pure common sense PoV.
Like I said I’m not trying to say anything offensive here. The model and texture look sweet and the weapons fire is cool. Even the effect produced by rolling looks good from a pure weapon’s FX PoV. It's just the roll animation itself that looks off. In fact you've got your missiles doing something that I’ve wanted to get mine to do for a while TBH and I’d love to know how you've done it, (specifically your missile don't appear to sharply accelerate until after they've left the weapon, mine always start accelerating the instant they're fired, yet you clearly don’t have a low acceleration).
If you need a smaller version of the BC FX, let me know, i have a couple of smaller version you can use.

hehe, it's meant to look funny. Most of these models, though I like some of them, are just a bit, uhm, like shoeboxes. With a lot of WW2 guns taped to them. But it's WIP and not my first, just the first one I feel comfortable posting. 'Cause it has a texture.

I had to change the way it attacked anyway. It was basically suicide bombing itself towards battle cruisers and getting raped. i wish there was a way i could make it roll only when it launches missiles.

I'm not sure this is the place, but it is related to models, I mightv'e overstepped the polycount limit. Ive tried to load a 50k+ poly model into cfhoded and it just refused to do anything.
actualy if you put something in really big, it will more than likely sit there and freeze up for a good while i had one that took a good 10 min to process the the task resumed and all was cheery
Well, don't even try with v3, but it should work fine with v4. If it doesn't, just split up into several submeshes. I had to do that once with a 76k mesh.

I need some suggestions for a new race that is the Enemy of the Race of ships I've made called the "Draid". This new race will be Human. A harsh dictatorship that rules through force. They are called the Terran Stellar Expanse or T.S.E. I have another Human race in mind as well called the Coalition of Independent Colonis or C.I.C. So all I'm asking for is suggestions as to the look of the T.S.E ships cause I'm having modelers block![]()

first one to me brings to mind bold ships with hard ridges and sharp angles, the second one brings to mind panzie round ships (see starwars ships of the rebeloion for examples)
for the "bad guys" I recommend "mean" ships, i mean long, hard curved and scary and symmetrical sides... they pack the biggest and meanest machines, with overwhelming firepower and staging areas... But as every human, they have a limit... Weak points are the Haulage of materials, slow moving ships, and the lack of fleet management, mostly due to hit and run tactics...
for the "goos guys" I say asymmetrical "fast assault" ships (if i have in mind what you're up to)... high fighter count and some electronic warfare cruisers for support... Mostly reliable in fast assaults... weakness would be, "low" firepower in regards to the "bad guys"...
I know it sounds star war-ish, but I think that's the point...

The was the first thing that came to mind when I started on the T.S.E Capital ship. It has sharp edges, an intimidating profile, and a unique look.
Looking for ideas, suggestions, and mild critiquing.

Also a big part of the look will be decided by what they fight and how they fight. What they fight will often determine how they fight. Thwe C.I.C for example isn't going to rely on hit and run and fighter swarms unless
A) fighters are actually good enough to be effective on their own or with minimal support
B) they're actually sufficently outnumbered to not be able to face them down in a stand up fight.
A big part of how a races ships look is decided by how they think, how their enemy thinks, and the interactions between that.

I would also like to see how it would turn out if "bad guys" used another style of war. But society has already pictured that the baddies must have the neat discipline... the only difference I see is the US and al-qaeda, US, big powerfull war machine, al-qaeda, hit and run rebels.
What I'm trying to say is that, it is a fact that in fiction, the baddies have a huge advantage over the goodies, and in the end "heroic decisive battles" turn the tide in favor of the good guys, it's just, what the masses like. Although a bold controversial move from this history might be the knife in the baddies stereotype. I'll just wait and see![]()
The gun modules look a little too big for the overall ship. I like the design, however. Is it supposed to be asymmetrical? My other comment would be it's a little blocky, but I know it's a WIP, so that may be in the works for a change anyway.

Nuno: Andromeda is another example. Prior to them Upgrading the Balance of Judgment to a DSX Atack Cruiser in late season 3 in one of their more facepalm worthy retcons, every enemy andromeda ever faced down was individually infiriour to her in a stand up no holds barred fight.
Just look at "All Too Human" Dylan takes the gloves off for once and goes all out irrespective of overkill and levels a fleet that previously wiped an entire planet out in one salvo, a dozen frigates and a battleship armed with planet killing guns in one 2.5 second salvo.
Li8kewise in prior episodes we've whatched andromeda absorb dozens of Commonwealth missiles from first the Pax Magelanic, and then the Blance of Judgment. Thats dozens of 20MT detonations and where not even talking major structural damage.
Whera's Rommies own 20MT warhead tend to reduce the opposition to space dust in just a couple of hits.
I'm sure others can name other examples where the good guys have the big toys.
Just because it's a steryotype dosen't mean you have to follow it.

it looks kind of fragile and flankable, more like a ion cannon frigate rival with kinetic heavy guns.
Destroyers mostly look decently armored and slick, as they are designed to form multiple roles in battle and in missions, both tactically and strategically.

Fusion energy projectiles that slam into the enemy ships, creating a big bang from the kinetic force and searing ability. No I did not read the technical background for HW but it probably works like that. Thumbs up with the Kadeshi models, I would love to fly that beasty!

You don't have to listen, but its my opinion about making the design look to its maximum reality.
Considering the size of the turrets (small) and use of them (pds anti fighter) I think they'll be ok.
Noticed 9 people downloaded the ship on my server. I hope it's put to good use, let me know if you do anything with it.

a small upadte, i am almost done with the ship i posted a few posts up will post pics soon
so um im stuck im using the hod editor to combine my texture.dds and a used wings 3d but when i put htem togather in the hod editor in preview it doesnt show the texture... do i have to "bank" the texture onto the model?
Did you UV map the model in Wings3d? If you didn't, it could cause some issues.
The other thing I'd look at would be making sure you have a material set up to use the texture, and that the model is set to use that material.
