I belive you just need to create a proper alpha channel for diffuse texture and enable 'alphaTest' for any material you want to be transparent.

Then my question is "What is a proper Alpha map?" in fact i already looked at the banner in photoshop and took it into the Model editor but there's no alphaTest checkbox, just bHighlight, in fact the banner doesn't even show up properly in the model editor:
![]()
That's odd. Is this a custom exported model or original chaos hq? Are you using the most recent version of the editor?
EDIT: You're not using the most recent version by the look of it. See Help->About, current version is 0.32 BETA.
EDIT2: This might also have something to do with the archive path being set incorrect...

It is the original HQ.
The version i'm using is 0.32 beta:
And the paths should be set correctly since everything else shows correctly, the entire HQ appears correctly, everything shows up correctly in 3ds max and the model editor.
Hmm...
It makes me wonder why the standard itself appears black. Missing texture maybe?
Nope, texture is there where it should no change has been made to it at all either. Path is set as:
"U:\Valve\Steam\steamapps\common\dawn of war 2\GameAssets\Archives\Data"
Which is the same path i have set in 3ds Max, and the log simply says:
15:03:18: [DEBUG] Direct3D initialized
15:03:18: [DEBUG] Direct3D device created
15:03:18: [DEBUG] Direct3D device restored
15:03:18: [DEBUG] Direct3D device restored
15:03:29: [DEBUG] Direct3D device released
15:03:30: [DEBUG] Direct3D released
