    The 3D Factory - new custom models - Dodge WC54 Ambulance

    Some custom models which I modeled and which were animated by Tankdestroyer, if not mentioned otherwise.
    WC 54 animations and OE work by DarkbladeCR. Many Thanks for that.

    The Sherman M4 105mm Assault Tank is the first in line,
    it comes with skin, weapon, projectile and ebps included.

    at the moment,it uses the same stats as the StuH 42 105 mm gun, but feel free to alter anything.

    --> download Sherman M4a3 105 from mediafire<--

    Just unzip into your mods root.

    Sherman M4a3 105mm

    Sherman M4a3 105mm

    Our next shipment to the CoH frontline: the M36 "Jackson" Tank Destroyer,
    armed with the 90mm Gun which the Pershing uses, too.

    Complete with sbps, ebps, skins, weaponstats, criticals and icons.
    Just unzip into your mods root, and you are ready to go.

    --> download M36 from mediafire <--

    ( Tank Commander figures NOT included! )

    As a little inbetween, we present the corrected M26 Pershing.

    --> download M26 Pershing from gamefront <--
    --> download M26 Pershing from mediafire <--

    Pershing?! Right. The vanilla turret is much too flat and it rotates
    around a wrong center point, revealing the turret ring of the hull.
    Also the muzzle break looks quite uncommon.While we corrected that, TD of course added a commander.
    This time, he is included in the download. Also a new skin for the tracks.

    corrected M26 Pershing

    As I found a little time, I will restart to release some more custom models in the near future.

    Beginning with the Panzer VI Ausf.B "Kingtiger" with the edgier, so called "Produktionsturm" ( production turret )

    --> download King Tiger from gamefront <--
    --> download King Tiger from mediafire <--

    The Production turret manufactured by Henschel was the much more common version than the Porsche one of the vanilla Kingtiger.
    The provided skin represents Tiger "213" of 501st SS Heavy Tank Batallon, as displayed in La Gleize.
    Historically correct Highres track skins have been added, too.
    The download is meant to replace the Porsche Version ingame, but does not overwrite any model file, just the abp.
    The commander is now placed in the correct hatch, but the turret MG and Gunner have been removed.
    A correct Coaxial MG has been added, though.

    Credits for the model go to Skyward!!!

    Kingtiger with Production Turret

    Next one, the Sherman M4A3E2 "Jumbo".

    --> download Sherman M4A3E2 "Jumbo" from gamefront<--
    --> download Sherman M4A3E2 "Jumbo" from mediafire<--

    Designed as an Assult tank, outfitted with extra frontal and side armor and a completely new turret, the "Jumbo" was used
    as spearhead an armor companies, as it was much less vulnerable to enemy fire than the standard Shermans.

    I know that there already is a Jumbo Model out there, but my model was almost
    finished when Loran released his, so I decided to finish it. Have a look if you like it. Anyway, big thanks to TD for animating this one, too.
    The model has a "bonus feature" You can choose between the 75mm and 76mm gun via state.
    State name will be delivered later, as I forgot it right now.. err.

    The download provides all necessary files ( sbps,ebps, weapon. Also UI gfx by Xalibur, many thanks ).
    Just drop into your mods root and it should work.

    Sherman Jumbo Front View

    Sherman Jumbo Rear View

    Time for more german stuff: The self propelled howitzer, SdKfz 124 "Wespe"

    --> download SdKfz 124 "Wespe from gamefront" <--
    --> download SdKfz 124 "Wespe from mediafire" <--

    To outfit the Panzerdivisions with mobile Artillery, the leichte Feldhabitze 18 was mounted on a Pz II chassis.
    It got light armor protection for the crews compartment, which only provided protection rifle fire and shrapnels.

    As always, the package includes all necessary files ( again, UI by Xalibur ) as well as proper crew.
    Credits also go to Loran Korn ( rip) for the Gun Model, as well as to Sweeten2213 for the first animation tryouts.

    The ingame unit has a flaw, though. It only fires when on even terrain, this has to be checked quite often, unfortunately.
    If anyone knows how to solve this, it would be greatly appreciated.

    "SdKfz 124 "Wespe" SPH rear view

    Now its the US again: , the M5 3inch (76mm) Anti Tank Gun

    --> download M5 3inch Anti Tank Gun from gamefront<--
    --> download M5 3inch Anti Tank Gun from mediafire<--

    The US developed that gun, the same 3inch gun as in the Wolverine on the M2 carriage, in 1941 and it entered service in late 43.
    Just in time for the new heavily armord german tanks.
    The high weight and the immobility of the gun proofed as a big disadvantage, though.
    After heavy losses in the Battle of the Bulge, it was taken off service soon.

    Again, the package includes all necessary files and again, UI by Xalibur

    "M5 3inch AT Gun

    Time for some more Heavy German Steel: The Jagdpanzer V "Jagdpanther"

    --> download our improved Jagdpanther from gamefront<--
    --> download Jagdpanther from mediafire<--

    Attention! The download includes a Tank commander.
    If you have parts of my latest skinpack installed, you may be asked to overwrite files... please confirm, then.

    Jagdpanther? You may ask. Good question as the model is in game by default.
    We were a little bit unhappy with it, so we gave it a better maingun, with a more detailed muzzle break.
    The front fenders were much shorter, so we adapted them too. A commander couldnt hurt, either.
    And last but not least, the tank was covered with leaves, for camo.
    This is done as a state, which is on by default now, in the ebps action_apply_ext.
    State is : "Camo" possibilities are "on"/"off". This, and the commander wont work online, though.

    Jagdpanzer V "Jagdpanther" with foilage and commander

    Tribute to a friend: The Junkers Ju 52 by Mr.Scruff

    --> download Junkers Ju52 from gamefront<--
    --> download Junkers Ju52 from mediafire<--

    As we now have working paradrops from planes, all that is missing is a proper plane for german air transports.
    This old model by Mr.Scruff, who we all miss around here, was part of "Battle of Crete" Mod, but not animated.
    I made a wreck, some propellers and refined the skin a little bit. Tankdestroyer animated it, as good as always.

    The plane can be used for flying or standing on the ground. Just use an animator_set_state action.
    state is: "flying" choices are "on" or "off"

    Junker Ju 52 "Tante Ju"

    Its time for a really big gun: The Sturmpanzer VI or better known as "Sturmtiger"

    --> download Sturmtiger from gamefront<--
    --> download Sturmtiger from mediafire<--

    The Sturmpanzer VI was equipped with a devastating 380mm Mortar, which was originally designed for U-Boat hunting.
    18 were built altogether and grouped in Sturmtiger companies. It saw combat during the Warsaw uprising and
    on the Western Front.

    The model is "ready to use", mainly based on the Tiger I data, completely with all necessary attribs and ui gfx.
    weapon data is almost similar to the V1 impact. The commander & skin is also part of the package,
    as well as High-Res historical Tiger tracks.
    ...besides, Tankdestroyer did an awesome job with the firing animation, based on historical footage.

    Sturmpanzer VI "Sturmtiger"

    Some more rocket artillery: The Panzerwerfer 42 auf Opel Maultier

    --> download Panzerwerfer from gamefront<--
    --> download Panzerwerfer from mediafire<--

    To achieve more mobility for the successful Nebelwerfer rocket artillery, a 10-tube launcher was mounted
    on the chassis of Opel Maultier halftrack. Armor plates and an MG 42 were added to achieve some protection.
    The Panzerwerfer was a quite successful weapon, although just a few ( approx. 250 ) were built in 1943 and 44.

    The model is "ready to use", setup for use with PE though, completely with all necessary attribs and ui gfx. Build icon by Xalibur.
    Additionally, highres halftrack treads are part of the download.

    Sd.Kfz. 4/1 "Panzerwerfer 42"

    Bring in the Bodies: The Dodge WC54 Ambulance Truck

    --> download Dodge WC54 from gamefront<--
    --> download Dodge WC54 from mediafire<--

    This beautiful little truck was the main ambulance vehicle of the US Army. It was based on the 3/4 ton WC-series,
    but had a longer wheelbase and featured a closed metal body. It could transport up to 4 patients.
    About 23.000 were built between 1942 and 45 and saw service at all fronts.

    This truck also has a Co-Driver. A very neat addition, I think.
    Animtions by DarkbladeCR. Many thanks for your help.

    As always, the model is "ready to use", contains all necessary attributes, UI gfx, a medic driver model & skin and a basic ability.

    Dodge WC 54 Ambulance"

    Note: All the models, skins and data are free for use and changes.
    But as always: Please give credit. All models by Halftrack, all animations by Tankdestroyer. If not stated otherwise.
    The skins are based on M4, M26 and M10, Marder III and Kingtiger Skin, so you can use other skins with no major problem...but one:
    Be aware to use the alpha channel provided in the delivered skins, otherwise the models wont be displayed correctly.

    Thanks to Bumblebee Tuna for the alternate download links.

    Wow, it looks so awesome! Especially with the nice accessoires. Does it use it's own UV or a vCoH one?

    Great work Halftrack and Tankdestroyer. I was hoping to see some individual releases of the new BotB vehicle models we've been hearing about, and it's absolutely great to see them before the next BotB release.

    It's great to see you two (and everyone else involved) working together and releasing models to the public where you can. Halftrack, i thought it was a great enough gift that you were working on updating BotB when you could and reworking some of your most famous skin pack. Even though you never left, i still feel like i should welcome you back to the public scene, and it's great to see more work from you for the public.

  28. #28
    just a quick note - if you want to use a visible projectile with this, you need to change the 'y' values of the heading in the weapon on the EBPS to 1, then the barrel will line up correctly with the spawning projectile

    Unfortuantly it seems the link is broken at the moment, clicking download just has the page going to the regular download screen for a minute or so, then looping back to the main file screen without the download starting.

    Edit: The link works now, FileFront must have fixed whatever it was.

    @19.PzGrenDiv: Yes, they were used in France at the end of summer 1944, but i think not really at the battlefield of the normandy.

    Fantastic model guys! Can't wait seeing it ingame in the BotB-Mod.

    The Pershing was only used in begin 1945, but still used in WW2, so it doesn't really matter.

    its a good question... some sources say it had been used in normandy breakout,
    its doubtful that it saw action during operation market garden , because the
    armored force was the british 29th Corps, which afaik wasnt equipped with M36s...
    but it surely WAS in US service by that time..

    ..30th Corps .. of course.. I am too deep in the Bulge,
    where the 29th was engaged..

    As far as I know, the M36 tank destroyer was not seen in the ETO until late 1944, which means that they were most definitely used during the Battle of the Bulge in some numbers, but not D-Day.

    Sturmhaubitze might have better insight on the matter.

  44. #44
    If I remember right the m36 was not used during the normandy landings, but was seeing service a few months after the landings. Though they were not really needed by the americans during the landings, since the british were the ones that ended up facing the majority of heavy armor.
    N
    They definitely saw service during the battle of the bulge, where they would hide in ambush and use the powerful 90mm cannon to destroy armor.

    Near the end of the war they ended up seeing more service as improvised artillary peices to bombard areas rather than destroying tanks.

    Overall the tank was an excelent peice of machinery and one of the better american tanks, and definitly saw more service than the pershing, and I think one even knocked out a jagdtiger

    A jagdpanther has a litter of 33 hetzers. 17 hetzers are eaten by at guns. What percentage of hetzers were blown to bits by at guns?

    Now that is a sweet M36, and even comes with everything.. Thanks guys.

  46. #46
    The M36 was a project that was initiated in September 1942, to see if an M3 90mm could be mounted on a tank destroyer. However the US Army firmly believed that their existing M10 tank destroyers were sufficient and so no orders were placed. That changed after the Normandy landings when it was revealed that the Germans used Panthers as a medium tank, and in sufficient numbers that nearly every other medium tank encounter was a Panther, not a Panzer IV H. At that point rush orders were made to try and get as many into the field as possible. They started showed up in tank destroyer units in September 1944, after the fighting had broke out of Normandy, but in time to participate in the fighting in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge).

    Tank destroyers used by the British 30th Corps in Operation Market Garden were M10C armed with the 17 pounder.

    I know it will be added to the next update of BotB. Will it? Hehe.
    And the M5?
    Because these M36 Tank Destroyers were vital for the Americans. Without this tank, they will rush no powerful tank in the Bulge.
