Part 4 - Replacements
Martin: We've got a Kraut-tank, 100 yards on the left part of that haystack.
Tank Driver: I don't see him.
Martin: Put a couple of shells through that building and you're gonna see it real good!
Tank Driver: I can't. My orders are no unnecessary destruction of property.
Martin: I'm telling you it's right there!
Tank Driver: I believe you, but if i can't see the bugger, I can't bloody well shoot him, can I?
... no good end for this Sherman![]()
yeah... but now back to topic pls!
so the hetzer and the jgdpz IV will get the Camo right?
http://hq-coh.com/forum/index.php/topic,20769.0.html
(if anybody interested to create a late Tiger I model try this:
http://www.cohmods.com/tiger-i-late-t167.html)
Jagdpanzer would go good with camo, not sure about the long barreled one though.
nah it will look as good as the other IMO,but if possible a camo on the barrel it sefl will make it look even better.
#259
yep.. Hetzer and Jagdpanther IV with the same camo as the Jagpanther.
and still no Tiger as Haystack.
honestly, I dont bother so much if the long barreled version does not look
THAT good.. its a tactical feature for me, no optical.
you are right @Halftrack the game is not all abaut the eye candy
#261
Wait.. do you mean, that a bush with a gigantic metal barrel sticking out is NOT looking natural?!
#262
Great to see you hanging around Halftrack, and with some free time to boot!
I really look forward to seeing the Jagdpanzer IV model and what states/upgrades are possible. Hopefully, we'll see the L48 / L70 barrels, tank commander, skirts, and camo. Here's to wishing!
Seconded. A spotting scope would be ace as wellI really look forward to seeing the Jagdpanzer IV model and what states/upgrades are possible. Hopefully, we'll see the L48 / L70 barrels, tank commander, skirts, and camo. Here's to wishing!![]()
If a tank commander is included, try and have him in the right hatch this time![]()
why?
the jagdpanther had his the riught hatch
(i have a Special book about the Jp and there its the right hatch)
maybe the commander was be placed in the loaders hatch for propagandistic reasons
butz a animated hatch would be nice...
i have seen in bk that the hatch is animated for both L70 and L48,there is only one thing missing-armor skirts
I must agree, this would be really a nice optical feature. Some of the Panzer IV based vehicles are missing this. Is there a way to create such addon as an individual model, so we can add it to each model they are missing it, like the Ostwind and Wirbelwind? I know, there are different shield types for the Jagdpanzer IV series and the standard Panzer IV variants. But maybe it is not that hard, I don't know.... there is only one thing missing-armor skirts
#268
The Jagdpanzer IV will ( when sometimes finished) get all this:
L70 / L48 Gun variation, Armor Skirts, Commander & animated hatch., Leaf Camo. Maybe random texture variations.
btw: inbox cleared.![]()
This will be a nice tank killer then. Sounds like the StuG/StuH becomes a fully workable brother on their side.
What else do you have planned? I had some ideas if you were interested that wouldn't be TOO difficult to make. For example:
SdKfz 7/1, 7/2 - mix a new chassis / hull with SdKfz 251 tracks and wheels, then mix Relic's Flakvierling 38 and DMz' FlaK 43 to them
SdKfz 10/5 - mix a new chassis / hull with SdKfz 250 tracks and wheels, then mix DMz' FlaK 38 to it
DMz and I had planned to make these, since they wouldn't require any animation.
Actually, I was thinking the Jagdpanzer IV L48 would make for a good "reward" unit for Wehr, replacing the StuG IV, seeing as the Jagpanzer was intended to supplement and ultimately replace the entire StuG series.
@Jagdpanther
Historically, Flakpanzers were never equipped with skirts.
@SlipSon
Unfortunately, the wrong hatch was animated. That's the loader's hatch, not the commander's.
@eli
Oooooo...those would be nice![]()
I meant I have seen some pics of, maybe this were fieldmodifications or converted vehicles from damaged Panzer IV's. But I'm not sure about.
@Eli: sounds like a new partnership ...![]()
It's interesting that you should mention that because the Flakpanzer IV's were based on damaged Panzer IV's that had been returned to the factory for extensive repair work. Essentially, they were factory conversionsmaybe this were fieldmodifications or converted vehicles from damaged Panzer IV's.![]()
how do i install these? really nice models btw.
@Mirage, I don't know this truely, but it was for many (sub)models the normal way. And if the skirts are applied there or later in the troop, I don't know either. I only meant, I had seen some pics with skirts, but I'm not really sure about. The Panzer IV and it variants was not that for interest for me, like other tank types it are.
But it was not the goal of the post. It was, eventually to point @HT to create a separate model for the shields, so we can use it for the whole Panzer IV series, for models they don't have such.

A small tribute to HT's and TD's Jagdpanther release:
Download
Included is a small fix to the position of the commander, with animated hatches thanks to existing Relic bones. It seems that Relic had planned on a commander, since there is an alpha-ed out hole where he should be. Enjoy! Requires HT's & TD's excellent Jagdpanther model (not included). Enjoy, and thanks again to HT and TD for all their hard work!![]()
very nice... but now when the Camo stuff is on the tank the Commander is sitting inside the bush![]()
Oops, silly me. I forgot that it was named "jagdpanther_body", not "jagdpanther". Fixed. So, either download again or just rename my "jagdpanther.rgo" to "jagdpanther_body.rgo" and make sure that the same is done in the ABP file.

sry eli but but this isnt the right position for the commander now it has the loaders hatch
(on some photos they laced him on the loaders place because it looks better)
but all german guns where loaded from the right side ,
the allied tanks where loaded from the left
so ht & TD placed them correct
@Martinlegend
Actually, you have it wrong. The Jagdpanther was unique in that it had the commander in the front right. If you look at pictures, you can even see the scissors telescope in front of his hatch. The rear left hatch is for the gunner / loader in this case. I believe it is also true for the Jagdtiger.
Also, a good source of information on the subject:
http://www.feldgrau.net/forum/viewto...=10553&start=0
Just because most German vehicles did it one way, does not make it the rule. I suggest trying to do research on something like this before blindly accusing someone of being wrong.
No - eli has it correct. I researched this myself a while back.
Correction: The breach guard on most German tank guns was open on the right side, permitting them to be loaded only from that side. However, the PaK 43's breach guard, like most anti-tank guns, permitted loading from the rear and served only to protect the gunner. The Jagdpanther's crew layout has the radio op on the right side manning the MG with the commander behind him and the driver on the left with the gunner behind him - leaving the loader directly at the rear. This is markedly different when compared to say the StuG's or even the Jagpanzers which had the loader on the right side and the driver, gunner and commander on the left.but all german guns where loaded from the right side
It's been noted in quite a few books that the Jagdpanther's crew compartment was exceptionally roomy (for its size) and well laid out, and allowed the loader to easily access ammunition.
Pretty close! Commander on the right and gunner on the left inside the fighting compartment, with the driver and radio op in their normal positionsI believe it is also true for the Jagdtiger.Due to fact that the massive 12.8cm PaK 44 took up a good deal of the JT's fighting compartment and the loader could not get directly behind the gun and that the breach was oriented to facilitate loading from the left side, I'd surmise that the loader was stationed behind the gunner.

@blackbishop@WangTangManPro
He's hiding too
booooh! but i don't want him to hide too![]()
take a look at the book of walter j spielberger
there you will see it
and if your commanders version would be right
- why is the exit of the empty shells on the wrong side (right behind the commander)
At this point, take it to PM. Otherwise, let it rest as I do not want to derail the topic any further. I merely released something as a tribute.
My camo jagd panther commander seems to have a pink hat.. no other mods running.
what file am I missing?
edit: using halftracks Wehr infantry skins has now given the commander a correctly textured hat.. but be aware that the bug remains if you use the JP mod on its own.

It seems like link to King Tiger isnt working,Can someone fix?

Try the Tiger B variants package released in Eliwood's thread. It has both the Henschel and Porsche turreted King Tigers, and allows you to have either a Roof MG or a Tank Commander on it.
the links for the Sherman M4 105mm Assault Tank and M36 jackson is gone or so gamefront says

a quick update here: TD and me animated the Junkers Ju 52 model by Mr.Scruff.
textures refined, wreck added, flying and standing on ground possible.
motor sounds when flying, of course. Thx to serg_codmod for sharing.
Credits go to our missed friend Mr.Scruff, but I guess hosting in this thread is ok.
