    Tiger skin query

I just wanted to double-check something...

If I want to use one of G's Tiger skins for a buildable Tiger for the Panzer Elite, which files from the skin do I need to add, and where?

I'm thinking along the lines of already having Panthers and Staghounds/T17s skins used for other teams.

f.e. in models > races > shared_textures you have tex_pe_panther_dif.rgt, tex_pe_panther_spc.rgt and tex_pe_panther_tc.rgt which I'm fairly certain are the files for the PE Panther Battlegroup.

If I then take the same-named files from the Tiger skin (which is different to the normal Wehrmacht skin) and put them in the shared_textures folder alongside the Panther stuff, will that work? (assuming I link them up properly in mod studio of course)

Are these the only three files I will need if I already have a normal Tiger skin installed in the Axis folder?

I know the Bergetiger has a load of other files with it but I don't want to touch that really...

    Thanks

You will need to copy all the files and folders in the tiger folder, move it or rename it. Then edit the .rgm so it will refer to the correct location of the diffuse (and all other skin files).

    Yeah, but which?

It's very complicated (for me, but probably not for you) because the Tiger skin has loads of different folders, so you shared_textures, then vehicles -> shared_textures, then the tiger and tiger_ace folders, so I have no idea which stuff to copy.

I remember making a Sherman variant for the British (to represent the Lend-Lease models) with a unique skin but I don't remember it being that difficult... mind you it was a year or so back...

Some more detailed advice would be greatly appreciated, please.

The Search function has what you seek.

Incase you can't underatnd that thread and to elaborate on what Celestial said, you need to go into Data\art\models\races\axis\vehicles\tiger\ copy ALL the model files and paste them into a new folder (call it Tiger_neu or whatever you want), then inside Tiger_neu create a new folder called Tiger_neu and within that create a folder called Model, paste your skins in there. Now in the Mod Studio we go and edit the .rgm to adjust the paths to your new skins, but only adjust the paths for the skin files you added, if you change a path to the new location when that skin file isn't there, the skin will look wrong ingame (like a strong pink tint for example). Finally, go into the ebps file of your new Tiger, go into the entity_blueprint_ext, and and change the animator_bp line to point to your new model files.

You know, I actually saw that link but assumed it meant how to have multiple skins for the same unit.. like variants...

I'll read it now anyway, sorry. I just thought it was a bit ambiguous.

    Okay I got now, thanks : )

I'll try and remember how to do it in future.

I agree with you there mandead, the title of the thread is a little misleading, as i thought the same thing when i first read it, but it basically just explains how to add copies of a unit to a building with each having their own skin. Glad it helped you.
