About OpenCore:
After building Slipstream: The Price of Freedom for over 3 years, I have come to realize that the community is strong and deserves a stimulus package to bring back A+ mods for an awesome game engine. By Forking TPOF v2.6, and stripping out all the Slipstream elements, we are left with a very small 55 MB source code that runs the show—The TPOF Core. It has new weapons, new physics, new battle system, new menu system, and most of the stuff you see in TPOF. With a few modifications, it is able to be played by itself in Homeworld 2. Thus, OpenCore was born. It be used by anyone in the community can use as a base for a mod, so long as the proper credit is given. (IE, Credit to Xi Industries, and where you got the code). One cannot simple just rebrand the package and call it their own, you must make considerable modifications in order to use the package. This will be enforced. Thank you, and Have fun!
The Rules:
By Downloading this kit, you agree to these rules, no if, ands, or buts. If you do not agree, delete the package right now. By Modding Homeworld 2, you agree to the original Relic Developers Network license (available online). By Using this Kit, you agree that you will not attempt to pass the kit on as your own work. You must include Xi Industries or OpenCore in your credits or readme. Action can, and will be taken against you at the highest level if you disobey that. The goal is to provide a base for a new mod to be built on and things within the kit to be reverse engineered, and knowledge shared and maintained by the community. This is a big responsibility for any modder, but I have confidence in the Homeworld 2 Community.
