These randoms skins are awesome. Currently just finished replacing all my vehicle skins with the random ones and I have to say they make an excellent game even better. The variety rocks. Looking forward to PE armoured car, jeep, bren carrier, M8, M10, Marder3 as there are plenty of good skins available for these units. Any update on when you might be releasing any more? No pressure just love the extra variety they bring and would like to see more.

Just added the soldier mesh lines from your random rifleman abp file to the jeep_gunner.abp and driver.abp and it is all good. Now have the same variations for these 2 positions. Excellent. Just need a random jeep to top it off.

I have a problem with the random volksgrenadier. When the squad members die the dead body reverts to the standard volks body, with ugly grey unfiorm etc. have you seen this and can you fix or do I need to do something. I am using the grenadierSV.rgm, rgo, rga, sua from your random volks and tankbuster download. Any help would be nice.

Looks like the names of some of the files aren't correct. Check the names of the rifleman files you have selected for the random rifleman files to use. Read the readme.txt in the rifleman download files for the correct names.

I have some trouble whit the Random Tiger skins... the Tiger comes onto the battlefield always whit the same skin... even when i have removed the limit of 2 and set the population to low ... arround 10 Tigers on the Battlefield all look the same

I wonder how much work it'd be to start this up again and continue from where Slay left off?
Anyone have any idea how long it'd take to edit an .rgo with the random skins state and setup the skins paths for a vehicle?
It dosent take very long but its very labor intesive to get it done right. Eliw00d is making a similar effort with the equipment that the soldiers need to be correctly equipped and im sure he would appriciate any assistance in doing this same project that you want to accomplish so i think you guys could collaborate together on the problem to find a solution that works.

how about macking variation for scout/armored car? or just split them (1 skin for each!)

If you change the specular Texture you also can have a different colours for the vehicle depending on the map.
For example a dark kinda black armoured car on a night map and a desert camo at midday

No, with a swapper you can use a seperate spc for each skin, depending on the swapper edits.
If you are able to load different specular maps depending on the wetaher settings, you could do the same for diffuse map. But I dunno if it is possible to initiate the texture_selector command depending on weather settings.
Yeah, how to make the selector command depending on the weather I would also know. Maybe Pfuscher can reveal this secret.

he's just saying that if you make one specular bright and one dark and have them set to randomly appear it will create light/dark variation but this is a bad idea because it will also change the shine on it and is not the same as changing the lightness of the diffuse.
But randomness is not depending on the map settings. So only the map creator will be able to use objects or vehicles in the correct skin state that fit to this map.
Shame, it were a nice idea for some mods like BotB or Europe at War to change the skin of the model depending on the map.
A while ago I was thinking about a solution to do something, but I didn't found a way.
You could make an upgrade that applies a state to squads the universal way like the BAR upgrade how it targets squads, then make that upgrade require an entity to be present on the map and make this an invisible entity called snow_map, or normandy_map, or holland_map, etc.
No, I meant not identifying the map type (or the daytime cycle) by editing each map separately. I tried to find a "universal" way to identify the type or the daytime cycle. But it seems not to be possible, because for example snow is not really snow AFAIK, and so on.
