For those that don't have hard copies, GW has released web versions of the DH codex and WH codex on their site.
It's in the Astronomican section.

hu? Mkay, so prelude to new miniatures, but not new codex?
Don't get excited. These are not new codexes but just a pdf of the existing ones. Rhinos are still at "old" points as opposed to Space Marine Rhinos at "new" points. Same with Chimeras and hellguns - old points values, old stat-line. I've quickly checked both pdfs against my WH and DH codexes and can't see any differences!
I suppose this saves on reprint costs but it is a bit of a cop-out on GW's part. If they are going to produce a new Codex in the future, then why bother uploading these. If they are not going to do a new one, then this is an opportunity missed to tweak point values. Very dissappointing.
This seems more like a marketing move. I don't think there will be many players who don't own a hardcopy of the codex who won't be downloading a copy just to have a look or for reference.
Having a copy would probably mean people who never played DH and WH before will be reading the old codex, which could generate interest, especially if there is a new DH release close on the horrizon.
I don't think there has ever been a case where GW has release new models for an army without also doing a codex update (second wave being the exception of course as they count as a stagger release from the original codex update anyways). If they tried to release new models for an old codex, it would be a marketing disaster.
It could also be that the massive popularity of the DH 'crutch' for IG has meant cheezy IG players has depletaed GW's DH codex stock much faster then GW originally anticipated. And instead of incurring the cost of re-printing the codex, they just decided to have an intern spend an afternoon messing with the photocopier instead.
the true power of religion lies with the priests
Also note that allying Inquisition forces to IG and Space Marines is no longer legal - they removed the Allies Section, which I'm guessing renders that form of Allies illegal. GW may have actually made their response to Leafblower IG through this move.
@Eighty: That would assume that the PDF version is considered a 'new' codex and that it overrides paper copies. However, since nothing has changed - they didn't even write in the errata for Land Raider Machine Spirit and Assault Vehicle rules - it would appear that this is just an alternative version of the same Codex, just stripped down to the basic rules (you may notice that all the fluff pages are missing.)

Have to agree with Rex, unless we see something later that states unequivocally that the little PDF overrides the codex (for instance, 'Ard Boyz rules still says allies are fine).
From what I understand, the only reason they did this is so that they wouldn't have to print more of the old ones. It's a stop-gap while they rework the Inquisition armies, and rumors are quite persistent that we'll be seeing them sometime soon.
Well, the whole "taking inquisition forces into IG and SM Codex Lists" isn't allowed at german tournaments anyway... so I don't have to bother with this =)
I'll post a full retraction and apology in time with this: http://ottawagamer.blogspot.com/2010...swer-from.html
Although Rex, I'd love to know where you see the difference is between these two codices being uploaded and the old Blood Angels one - would the difference (ignoring the above link) be that one was supported by White Dwarf officially?

Why does it never suprise me the Inquisition forces KEEP getting crapped on by people whining how a: 3'rd Edition with VERY outdated rules (GK have rules and power that are no longer usable and pricings, 25 for ONE troop choice GK model, let alone the wntire dang squad, no rhino option for the GK either, yet it beats them, so they take away the only thing that really makes Grey Knights a competetive force, instead of L2P Table topping. My GK Forces were shelved before this crap, but this is just retarded now. Dont even get me started on Sister of Battle (My main force at the moment) being crapped all over by this.
How are they getting crapped on? The rules haven't changed.
Has it appeared in north america yet? I havn't been able to find it on the gw website.
Here is the nerf to DaemonHunters, They "ripped out" pages that made DH "too good" for being a 3'rd edition army. Even though half of their psyker powers do not exist in 5'th edition; Such as forcing daemons to take "Instability tests", that got yanked from the rules in 4th edition.

Dont have the SoB one, not that I really want it anyways >_>
@Elarik
If you would have readt though the Thread and Links presented, you would know by now that the Allies section was only deleted on the american version, not the other ones. Furthermore, GW Customer service already said that this was a mistake on the american version and that the printed version still takes precedence.
Well fine then, I didnt bother to check it again since it first came out, but how the bloody hell do you make a mistake THAT BIG as ripping out entire pages??? Jesus

Yeah okay... this thread has deteriorated into a rant thread.
The first 9 posts answered some questions and fulfilled the potential of this thread.
Elarik, please calm down in the future, matey. Read a thread entirely before posting (especially one this short!) and post constructively rather than derailing with ranting.
