ok please don't shout at me for askin this, i pre-ordered my copy of Dawn of War last nite from amazon uk, and it says that the release date is july which i doubt for a start, but in the product description it states that the player can control IG and Vast space ships(BFG!). so i did abit of a searching and found at other sites where you can pre-order it, it gives the description of controlling spaceships now has everyone got there facts wrong? i thought that this game was just troop based and there was not going to be any space combat cos it basically require make 2 games in 1.

I wouldn't trust retailers with good information if we have the real thing in the form of devs posting on these forums, 'zine articles and online-interviews such as IGN. retailers give wrong release dates pretty much all of the time. them muddling up the gameplay concept is only the next step

I think that someone's seen that Relic is making the game and immediately thought "BFG homeworld style". I wouldn't worry about what the retailers say, they're just trying to get you to buy the game from them.

well they said that their are 3 playable races, orks, marines and chaos and one un playable, so i guess not

When they said "races"-I had thought they implied the Imperium of Man as a race, including all the human sides. Space Marines would count as human, but not entirely, would they? Anyhow, we'll have to live without the IG. I'm guessing we will have control of IG forces in the campaign, but we can't "call down reinforcements" and deploy structures in the way we will be allowed to for our chapter.

Has anyone made a thread exclusively about the speculate of the yet-to-be-announced race? Is it possible that Relic is making their own race (depends on how much leeway GW is givng them), or just resurrecting a largely obscure race that hasn't been looked at for many, many years?

Or maybe the other project is a BFG game that the Relic team has yet to officially announce (and someone at THQ slipped up, giving bits of info out that should not have been hence the bad description). Wishful thinking, yeah, probably

I have the hidden hope that there is actually one other game which IS BFG. (holding fingers crossed).

I have high hopes for DoW. I think it will sell so good that an expansion will be made sporting more races and Titans. Again, that is what I hope, not that I know.
Let's face it. I would LOVE seeing a DoW 3 or 4. I hope it is the beginning of a franchise.

But these are just hopes that derive from the unbelievable amount of fun that the posted pictures on IGN have produced.

I think that expansions for DoW with one's favorite not-so-important races would be effective, maybe add another campaign, another terrain type (ice or desert worlds) for multiplayer.
