This is what/when I was refering to. http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2011/...us-latest.html. It says they explicitly mentioned it apparently? While that's a fair point I like Plasma, and I'm always open to new LR variants.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Seems that they removed the Black Templar Terminator shoulder pads. Hope that means there will be an alternative version coming out soon. I really wanted to purchase some.

Primarily intended for use with the Badab War/Boarding Assault rules ('graciously' provided in that link) but nothing prevents you from indeed going Space Hulk with them... Still, damn costly considering the £90 set only covers a 60x60cm board...
We look to the heavens so that one day our children may look back towards home.

  6. #156
yeah, the 90 pounder only makes up only 1/6th of the board... why not release the corners and straights as a seperate piece from the floor tiles and then you can get complete customizability? These bits seem awfully plain for as much as they cost as well. If you essentially take a 2" (4.4cm) square and add in some details with plasticard, then pour a simple mould for resin copies, it'd take a little more work, but it would cost vastly less. These aren't much that couldn't already be done by the average gamer for a lot less, unless they come pre-painted.

I don't really want to think about how much money it would take to build even just Mission 1: Suicide Mission from Space Hulk with that Mortalis set, let alone all of the other much bigger ones...
Look at the bright side, kid - you get to keep all the money.

And it seems the Black Templars Terminator shoulder pads have made a return. Must have been an error on the site manager's part.

It's probably mold degradation Adonis, they take parts off periodically when the molds degrade and then put them back up when they have made new masters. Happens most with popular parts like shoulder pads.

Yes, I've noticed. I recently used an extra armor kit for one of my razorbacks. I ordered another set of armor and can tell a big difference in the quality and the style of the mold.

I'm just glad they posted them back up.

Honestly if I saw that without name I'd think Necron before Chaos - just looks like a supped up necron immoral to me. Still very cool looking!

Aside from that, looks badass apart from the weeny weapons. Hopefully some of the alternate weapons will be beefier.

Modelwise, by the looks of it making custom arms from the Decimator should be no problem; the Decimator body has arms going down to the "elbow joints" where you fit the weapons... some spare tank and dread arms bits and it should be a go...

I wouldn't be surprised that the Butcher Cannon looks small-ish because it's to also be used for the chaos Contemptor: the articulated mount looks very much like those of the Contemptor weapons i've seen so far and the twin LC is apparently the same size as the BC.

No fleet, Defiler class CC ability (low) bad armour with huge profile and BS 3.

On the other hand slap a MoN on it, give it 2x Butcher cannons and plink away with chaos version of Venerable Rifleman who just does not want to die.

Fingers crossed for better final rules .

Amazing model, I will probably get it.

However looking at it very closely its parts resemble the Blood Slaughterer and its design very much. Nevertheless nice.

and if it does it comes back shiny and new on a 6 with a reroll. Even if it died on turn 1 and it is now t6.
LOVE the model more than the contemptor but prefer the legs on the contemptor

Would it still ds in a daemon army? Or would it need pods?

It would DS like the rest of the army (makes it suddently more appealing but I'm scrapping my Tzeentch Daemons in favor of my Thousand Sons* anyway)

    * and they are getting Contemptors

That Decimator looks like a complete mock-up of Warmachine's Khador warjacks. Right down to the exhaust pipes and big turbine thingy in the back.

That said, it's a beefy thing, and would certainly add some character to a chaos army. If I had the means, I'd swap out the default head for the Blood Slaughterer one.

CancerMan, it's not like the warjacks were very similar to dreadnoughts these in turn being similar to some extent to some battlemechs and... see where that leads?
Not sure either if the daemonic casket is frankly taking inspiration from the WJ turbines, the Blood Slaughterer shows the same. Not that GW/FW won't fish in other ponds...
One thing though, 'Decimator' is a poor choice for a name when 1) the 40K Decimator was so far a chaos super-heavy tank, precursor to the Baneblade-chassis patterns (Epic system); 2) a PP Warmachine warjack had also been named thusly before...

Now now... FW/GW hiccup or future thing? I let you muse on that:
    http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2012/...t-repacks.html

What worries/nags at me a bit is the part about the parts being in the finecast-grade material. Not sure i'm totally okay with that, if that's what's ahead.

Easy to Access and Buy FW kits?! Id support the hell out of that!! It costs to much to ship to Canada that when i place my orders usually i buy a ton to get free shipping & Handling xD So being able to purchase it in stores would be a god send.

Well, that's not a point that particularly bothered me; so far, even from independent BUT affiliated retailers you could order FW stuff with no p&p costs added. Granted, you can't check the kits (and their quality) and my knowledge stops at the EU boundaries... Doesn't that apply to N.A. ?

I received a Kheres Assault Cannon today in the post in one of these clamshells, it was made from the old hard style resin, so they arent switching over completely, it'll probably be the more finicky, easily breakable stuff that will use these finecast style moulds.

Yeah that 'article' on BOLS is... poorly informed. He claims, "2. The material seems upon initial inspection to the be the less bendable finecast material." Forge World resin is characteristically brittle. It'll often break before it bends. Finecast, on the other hand, is notoriously flexible and bendy to the point where it's a pain in the ass. Nothing has changed.

Basically he's getting all worked up about some new packaging, and typical to BOLS, they were short on articles that had actual content so they posted it anyway.

@Lleman, i used to be able to order from the Cdn. Head office store while they were open (it was a sad day when they closed... they were 10min from my house ) without having to pay S&H, but when they began to close they stopped and they were one of the few stores (at least in the area) that could do it, from what they told me.

Also that Special Events Model is also really damn nice. I wish they had events close to Toronto

Well now I do like what i woke up too today Those terminators are quite nice looking i must say and are actually slightly cheaper then regular terminators here in Canada :o (By a few dollars) Im also willing to bet they will release more variants in the coming weeks like they did with the regular tactical marines.

These aren't pre heresy. If you read the blurb:

Tactical Dreadnought Armour, or Terminator Armour as it is more usually known, is the most resilient form of personal protection available to the Adeptus Astartes. Originally developed during the closing years of the Great Crusade, and adapted from the heaviest of industrial gear, several types and patterns were developed concurrently.

Of these, the Indomitus pattern is perhaps the most widespread, due to its template being held on key Forge Worlds such as Mars, although Tartaros Pattern Terminator armour is also issued to the Veterans of a Chapter’s 1st Company. Perhaps the most advanced form of Tactical Dreadnought Armour, the Tartaros pattern shares many systems with the MkIV ‘Maximus’ pattern of power armour, and provides greater mobility for its wearer than the Indomitus pattern with no loss in durability or protection
It says that TDA was developed during the great crusade, and that these are a variant of the standard TDA, and not necessarily those used in the great crusade. It was Cataphractii armour that was around in the pre-heresy era (with the half barrel shoulderpads).

I think they look retarded. The solution to better lookin terminators is not to give them longer legs and put their heads even LOWER down on their chest. They look like little baby contemptors except it contemptors didn't have torsos and their arms popped out of their ears. I would be scared to see what these guys looked like with their armor off. poor bastards probably look horrifying.

Frankly not the best move in what concerns aesthetics. This pattern looks like a mismatched blend of MkIV, MkVIII, Contemptor and early 1989 Terminators #410609 & #410610 with a dash of Grey Knights thrown in for good measure... fugly abortive product of MiniTerminators. Not mentioning the 'retarded' point Aquila makes.
I understand this seems to be the pattern used in Asterion Moloc's Space Greek-ish armour but there was no need to extend that to a whole pattern. FW has been known to do brighter ventures, really... (e.g. make a model out of the personal conversion for Tiberios... that was a good, honest, brutal and aesthetically-in-line-with-other-patterns Terminator suit that should have deserved more attention)

I don't know, it looks like a decent 'origins' armour variant to me. I quite like how it provides a missing link.

  48. #198
Also it really reminds me heavily of Starcraft armour, all you have to do is just imagine a visor going from front to back instead of where the helmet should be.

If you look at this shot here

The arms are actually lower then the head and are proportional. Its just that they have a ton of shoulder armour apparently, and even then, its the same with the other variants from the HH (from the artwork at least)

It's not like the plastic terminators are better proportioned.

I quite like these. The price is an added bonus. If they come out with an assault version, these and GKTs will be the only Terminators I'll use.
