Looks like Heresy stuff will carry on pouring out of the studio at a steady flow:
presenting the Deimos pattern Predator Infernus.
Yes, it's your friendly Astartes neighbour lending some help for your xeno-BBQ...
I love this extra bit:[...] the Infernus boasts a fearsome armament in the form of a turret-mounted Flamestorm cannon, often replaced with the anti-armour potency of a Magna-melta, a devastating weapon originally intended for void-war boarding actions.
Deimos Baal Pread++ for everyone but CSM and BA...
Warhammer 40.000-Armies:
* Night Lords: 8th Company, "The Just" (Unalinged Chaos Space Marines)
* Cabal Of Eternal Silence (Kabalite Dark Eldar)
* The Seekers of Iybraesil (Craftworld Eldar)
"Basically, the Horus Heresy is a story about daddy issues." - Gav Thorpe
I love the cock up they made with the new tanks' data sheet.
I have a blog, check it out :P - http://forthegloryofgorkandmork.blog...commander.html - brand new post 11/04/13
What cock up is that?
0rph3u5: It's not a Baal++. It's just different. The Baal can mount a TL Assault Cannon, this thing can get a Magna-Melta instead. The Baal is Fast and has Scout, this thing has neither.
BA should be the last army to complain about getting fancy stuff no one else can get.

Might be, but fluff-wise it is a Baal++. :P
Well, the only thing i find daft at first sight is that CSM can't use it (like the Deimos Pred Executioner, mind you) but the fluff explains it, sort of.
@RGilbert26: now, did you mean the point cost? I reckon the base cost is quite low as well as the upgrades'. Compared with the Pred Exec there's indeed a strange discrepancy (e.g. HB: Exec:+25/Inf:+20; LC: Exec:+60/Inf:+50, etc.). The Magna-Melta upgrade seems too cheap too for the power it carries.

When they first announced the tank, the data sheet didnt say you could take heavy flamers as sponson upgrades. Fixed now, though.

Aerodynamics being a problem? No worries! STACK MORE ENGINES!
But gods, these are beauts, even so cumbersome. Now, this bodes well for the future of FW (and of our armies, evidently...).
Imperial aerial vehicles don't glide through the air, they shoulder-barge their way through it.
Look at the bright side, kid - you get to keep all the money.
The best part is. FW is showing new stuff everyday till GamesdayThat means even more awesome HH stuff to come!!
Edit: Also lets not forget this beautiful looking book.

Heh phallic models are phallic.
Knife King of Doltland
I'm not surprised. Anything within three feet of you seems to end up full of knife shaped holes.

Only one nag with the current Scimitar design:But hey, just a minor flaw; the AdMech probably never saw it as a problem given their lack of fleshware to feel that...Originally Posted by #tabletop

No, there is only the Emperor!
Well, it's FW, so don't expect bargain bin prices, Bowks. This said, the volume seems to be bound more elegantly than the usual hardbacks and it's less expensive than some similarly bound books by sister-company Black Library. In short, I'm not surprised.
Yeah, a lot more effort has clearly gone into the binding of this book. £70 still seems a bit high to me, but I'm sure I'll end up buying it. Damn you, FW, for knowing what I like.

Heh, penis guns on the penis jetbikes.
Hehehehe.
I am an Iron Warrior! Iron Within, Iron Without!
Damn, that's another 70 quid down. So much for coming down the night before![]()

I think my Vindie just humped a Landraider... :/
Typhon Heavy Siege Tank
Also, new Realm of Battle boards, this time in urban style. Quite nice with pre-set footprints, although that'd mean reworking some buildings you already have to fit.
#322
And oh my!
Legion Fellblade. This baby is a beaut, can't wait to get the rules for this one.
Also, more garb for the FW-hores like me; FORGEWORLD, TAKE ALL OF MY BANK ACCOUNTS !!!

The models are stunning. Can't say I care for the T-shirts, but I'll be getting the book at Games Day given the fact FW charge 12% shipping to the UK....

THE ARES NEVER EXISTED FOR ME !!!!
[/frothin' at the mouf]
I love the look of the fellblade but sadly the price tag of 150ish GBP means ill likely never get one.. : /
Edit: Angorn model (for those that havent seen it)
![]()
Oh lordy.
Do I get the 'I was there' or the Imperial Truth t-shirt![]()
I'm gonna have to get me an Angron. Lets just hope it isn't a display model or some such..
So the Cataphractii Terminators are up now (listed at 33GBP before weapons) and by the emperor are they ever nice(and boy is that autocannon ever menacing). My wallet is not going to like me after this stuff goes up for presale...
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Events/c...i-special.html
Other stuff to go up today: Command set upgrades (Helmets/Vox backpacks and banners)
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Events/Command.html
Edit: Apparently the Termi's will be available in small numbers at GDUK encase any of you are lucky enough to get there fast enough :P
#330
WTF? Plasma Blaster for Cataphracti? Never has the phrase 'hot knife through butter' been so true... ^^
#331
Oh my oh my oh my!!!!
Rub the Rope in ashes for red knots, here comes the Red Angel... he's your man for £50 !
![]()
I shouldn't be surprised that they're arbitrarily inflated the price 'cos PRIMARCHS WAHEY but I'm still a little digusted.
What kind of size is it? Suppose it has got 3 full sized marines plus Angryon...
Still...
Graaah.
And you just KNOW any fan will want all 18. That's 900GBP...fuck me.
Also new moneymaker for GW/FW - selling blank bases for 50 quid by saying they are the missing 2nd and 11th Primarchs.

50GBP D: (i knew it would be that high, but i was really hoping it would be lower...) I guess im aiming for that 250GBP
My list so far:
Catephractii Terminators, Angorn, The book... thats what... close to 170 already... plus shipping and handling to canada... uggghhh T.T
So far I'm getting HH book and an Angron....
I have like...infinity Terminators and khorne beserkers. As much as I want Cataphractii I need to focus more on troop, FA and HS choices if I buy for TT
#335
And with the Cataphractii suddenly the possibility of an incredibly accurate Horus model (without excessive Green Stuff) becomes possible.
Though, after Angron . . . . I don't think any regular model-sized interpretation will suffice anymore![]()
#336
Primarchs, you gotta catch'em all !
So pictures from GDUK taken from Warseer![]()
So it would seem that sexy dioramas arent just going to be for Primarches (this makes my wallet sad) [Theres also a Sons of Horus Termi in the lower portion of the pic :P - they're probably justaerin terminators]
Loken vs. Abaddon
Emperors Children with Autocannons
Sons of Horus Assault Squad
Also apparently there will be Legion specific Contemptors and Squads to come as well.
#339
Quick note: that's not Loken (yet).
Pics to be added tonight. So many sexy models...
Edit: Here come the photos; excuse the picture heavy post and the sorry quality (Pac will certainly get some prettier ones in time), there was a lot of shoving and defocusing. :P
Non preH/CG/HH stuff first; the Lightning gets a full cosmetic surgery, bringing it in line with the new Avenger:
HH stuff:
Autocannon for the Heavy Support squads:
Note the Night Lords helmet variant on this one:
Legion Tactical Support squad with Volkite Calivers (basically Rayguns):
For those who own the 'Visions of...' series, this new helmet variant will be familiar:
World Eaters Rampager with Heavy Chainsword and possibly a Volkite Serpenta -although not sure about that, the rules for the Rampagers don't include them :/ - (and MkIII with autocannon):
Support squad with Heavy Bolter on suspensor web:
An Emperor's Children Praetor, basically one of the highest ranking officers 'second only to the god-like Primarchs in martial skills and generalship'. (on the revolving plinth):
Various legion-specific Contemptors (Death Guard & World Eaters):
Not sure if converted or a hidden in plain sight variant specific to the Death Guard:
And the beast itself (no, not Horus, this one's not done yet), the Fellblade:
Death Guard Cataphracti beauty shot:
Finally, a few, sadly not so good, shots of the main Sirenhold breaching when Angron led the charge:

So for those of us who couldnt attend GDUK, the Betrayal book and Angron are now up for order (as in not a pre-order, and will ship it once its processed)![]()
In addition to that, they added a HH Section at the top of the page.
Now to wait for my package of awesomeness to arrive![]()

Actually is a 'Phoenician' pattern helmet, "Emperor's Children Legion unique variant awarded as a badge of valour" (p.112)Originally Posted by me

Eleven hours later:
While browsing Betrayal for large 'hidden-in-plain-sight' models, as is often the habit of GW/BL in their publications, i found none but a few strikingly different minis, perhaps due to personal conversions (as the studio guys love to include in their books, viz. The Red Wake in the Badab books) or to 'sanctioned' stuff we haven't yet been shown at GDUK, which wouldn't surprise me at all.
I'll let you make your own mind upon closer inspection of the following pics, all the while bearing in mind the above-mentioned elements as well as FW's habit to shoop their minis when compositing their final pictures (sometimes to the utter crushing of our hopes :P).
Exhibit A1 & A2: Death Guard specific (?) helmets on MkIII & IV plates.
Exhibit B: Emperor's Children specific Relic Contemptor with a single headed aquila on breastplate? The honour escutcheon bearing a Roman III leads me to believe this is indeed an EC addition. Resculpted or 'shopped ???
Exhibit C: 'Hero'-sized MkII astartes? The helmet seems oddly stunted but proportions are not the ones of the current MkII mini. Note that the vambrace/gauntlet sports studs while the current MkII doesn't. On the opposite, the hand plate here has only two studs when the current model shows four. Finally, the miniature shown here has no neck-guard contrarily to the model so far sold by FW. I suspect a personal conversion or some photo-manipulation again, but you never know...

Well im 95% sure exhibit B is the normal relic contemptor with just a slight conversion, as if you look on the forgeworld site for it, it has all the same markings in the same places minus the single headed eagle.
#343
Two out of the three heads on the top picture are this guy:
The middle one is a fairly easy conversion, just take off the top vane and fill in the vents, but may be an unreleased kit.
As for the armour marks, Will Hayes has apparantly stealth reworked the armour kits, and the pictures havent been updated on the site yet, so could be that.
C, could easily be a True scale conversion?
Would be cool if they release legion specific stuff, beyond the odd shoulder pad or dreadnought.
#345
The basic 'brick' being the armour mark we'll see more of the pauldrons and odd helmets rather than full models. However i believe some legions will indeed 'allow' for fuller kits (i'm thinking about you, Wolves!), remains to see how extensive this will be.

Bought the Cataphracti + Special weapons set at GDUK. I cleaned and assembled them last week, a real pleasure. The weapons are finely made, the most minute being the lightning claws (real claws this time, not blades on gauntlets!) but they're also the most brittle and i guess i haven't been the only one to need some precision time to set them back correctly.
Still, a very satisfactory purchase with only two parts i have had to unwarp and only the slightest: the power sword and the Reaper AC. I guess the almost lack of defects is due to the newness of the models and a bit more care being applied to the demoulding.
To be noted, there will be a Justaerin set which looks even more brutal and BAFM and which is even more in line with the 'Visions of...' illustrations.

Horus Heresy legions painting guide
And for those who weren't lucky enough to attend GD UK, here's the FW vid of the display board they set up as the assault on the Precentor Palace:
flicking through the HH:Betrayal book itself gives some great background on organisation of legions as well as a remarkably good armylist with a number of interesting options. (plasmapistol gunslinger with jumppack and chainfire looks awesome to try, as does volkite tacticial support squads) I am impressed at the balance and change in the feel of the list.
Drawbacks have got to be the 3+ nature of the list with a lack of mechanicum/imperial army for large scale customisation
I though what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes-The Laughing Man -J.D.Salinger
I'm going to kill this dog. I just haven't decided how.

Well FW has stated that they were slowly going to add more Ad.Mech as they go with the potential of doing a book with them in it (like a full army list) as for IG, they said they would likely do a list for them at somepoint
