    [DC 1.2] Absolute carnage

The first game is a 1v1, IG vs IG on Tainted Pair. This was a really messy affair, IG nade spam, Command Squad disruptions, Basilisk Earthshaker spam, and we went through EACH I think 4 sets of Baneblades and 2 Leman Russes. In the end he won more of the map then me, but through effective microing and some tactical application, as well as Psyker COTMS spam allowed me none the less to push him back. After a few failed assaults that still did some damage I was about to take his base with 2 Lemans and a Bassy spamming Earthshaker's before he dropped.

The second match is THE MOST brutal and mentally taxing 4v4 I've ever had to play. On Rhean Jungle Me as IG with an Eldar and two SM players vs SM/Chaos/Tau/Orkz. I feel mighty proud that this ended in me having killed 1064 units =p.

This game started out pretty tame, we were all teching and doing our thing, but then the enemy team just had to try and take the center of the map. You'll notice a very peculiar thing in this match, and that is that 25 minutes in I and the Eldar player went almost strictly vehicles while the two SM players handled the infantry. I did almost this entire game on just 2 Bassy's, 2 Leman's and a Baneblade while the Eldar spammed Fire Dragons and Wraithlords. VERY effective microing was done here on both our parts, and we were to blame for the majority of the enemy teams losses. We pulled a 300 and funneled them all into our base causeways and just shredded them to pieces. The only Infantry we really used besides him using Fire Dragons was our elite squads, so 25 minutes on you'll see nothing but CS/Ogryn/Karsikin squads with Priests attached. The two players who posed the hugest problem for this match was the fucking Ork player and the Tau player, The Ork used Slugga/Nob/Flash spam while the Tau just kept on hammering with SS and FW spam with Missile gunships in tow. At some point the SM player on the opposing team dropped, I'm not sure how that really effected this match seeing as he seemed to be fairly useless, we lost one of our 2 SM player shortly after that though reducing this to a 3v3. The remaining Tau/Ork/Chaos combo huddled themselves into the Tau's corner and built an absolute monster of a fortification and base that we spent a full 20 to 30 minutes hammering through. The SM player charged in with everything at his disposal. Predators, SM tacticals, Terminators, land raiders, orbital strikes, while the Eldar sealed them inside their own base with a cluster fuck of turrets and Fire Dragons. I finished the offensive with 2 lemans and a Baneblade in the back of the line with 2 Bassy's firing Earthshaker's into the enemy mobs. This was a really awesome match and we eventually plowed ourselves in and had an absolute massacre.

I would appreciate comments and criticism, especially if you watched the replays in my last post, to comment on how you've seen my game change, if I'm improving, anything like that.

Hi. Watched the 4v4. Wow! What an awesome game.
If anyone ever finds themselves wondering what was so special about DoW, they just need to watch this. It's all win.

Re your game, there are a couple of things worth mentioning.

    - Great job getting your LPs down. Much, much better.

    - Turrents are a bit more excusable in bigger games. I cringed a bit when you threw down four in one go but they did their job so that was ok.

    - The main area for improvement I see was your simple lack of involvement in most of the fights. This would have been ok if you were teching hard ...

If you're not going to join the fight, don't reinforce your GM squads or spend resources arming them. Tech instead.
IIRC you had 6 gens going into T2. That's way too many and indicates that you are overinvesting in weak units.
Fight or tech, or both. Don't just pimp out your doodz. (Note your ally's frustrated comments throughout.)

Instead of Basilisks, get a squadron of Chimeras to make your GM mass more viable.
Believe it or not, Chims will do more damage than Bassies.

Also, was there a reason you had your 5-pack CS sitting in your base half the game?

Of course, once you had Kasrkin, Oggies and the BB you were confident to move in and you managed that part of the game well.

Hope that doesn't sound too harsh. Enjoyed the game immensely - just wish you could have contibuted more to the first half.

I indeed have a significant problem with being timid in Tier 1/1.5 with IG. I'm scared shitless of losing GM squads since they cost so much without even reinforcing them, even with a CS squad it's still possible for the other races to rape you in no time.

Watched your replay of the 4v4 map.
First of all I would like to thank you for uploading your replay.

    About strategy:
maybe less turrets but I like turrets too so yeah...

Also try to tech faster. there are a few guides for the IG to give you some ideas.

And don't be afraid to loose a few guardsmen. They don't cost much to replace. Just go loosing entire squads because that is expensive.

A bit more involvement in the battles would be nice. But maybe you could go for a support role. a few GM squads, the basilisks, the BB and leman russ would do the job.

Not really the involvement. You involved but you left imediatelly after because your troops were too weak. If you are going GM mass it is mandatory to add LEADERS TO YOUR SQUADS. PRIESTS and COMMISAR greatly enhance your units. And in T2 you really need to get them as enemy infantry starts getting better and better through upgrades and you remain with that armour upgrade in T1 which is clearly not enough. So add leaders. Your GM will be 4 times stronger. Trust me. Well you all did some mistakes. Par example the ork player did NOT UPGRADE HIS UNITS neither atached leaders to his gitz or nobs that was a fatal mistake for him. GG for your eldar though he played very well and the space marine players generaly speaking. The chaos player did not know that the sorcerer and the unholy sighted cultist were detectors so you all have to learn but anyway. Nice game. I haven't played such a big and violent game for a long time .
One single more thing: The moment you got the middle and assaulting that corner you should've uncapped all their relics. They shouldn't have been alowed to have relic units anymore.
I reject your reality and substitute my own :D
