    Chaos DOW2 Lord of The Warp Beta 1.0

    Ok, So I've Decided to put a thread here,
    This will be my first ever DOW2 Mod,

    Ok my plan is to change the characters in campaign and the enemies/Chaos Marines

    FC - Chaos Lord/Terminator Lord With Armor
    Tarkus - Aspiring Champion/Vet Plaugemarines
    Thaddeus - Raptors/Vanguard to be decided
    Cyrus - Weaker CSM with infiltrate
    Thule - Chaos Dread
    Avitus - Havoc Sergeant
    Jonah - Chaos Sorcerer

    I have no idea how the terminator armor is going to turn out.
    I may need some help along the way with this mod so if you can I would be very thankful

    What is currently Done,
    Chaos Lord Max Level 30
    All other squad's level 25

    Name Changes
    Tarkus - Horus
    Thule - Zerghion
    Thaddeus - Lergen
    Cyrus - Asperion
    Avitus - Abbadon

    Squad Increase
    Horus - 6 Members
    Chaos Lord - trying to get 2 bloodletter minions
    Lergen - 4 Members
    Abbadon - 5 Members
    Asperion - 4 Members


    - Tarkus Changed to A Aspiring Champion, and Squaddies to CSM - Need help with the Icons Though

    - FC Changed To Chaos Lord/And terminator armour to - Need help with Icons

    - Cyrus Changed to an Aspiring Champion, Can Still use Snipers and Shotguns, Need help to make him able to equip power armour and Icons,

    - Thaddeus Changed to an Aspiring Champion, Trying to Take off his backpack and replace with a Jumpack [So He will be Raptors]

    - Avitus Changed to an Aspiring Champion, Trying to change heavy bolter animations to chaos heavy bolters,

    Still to do,

    - Change wargear to chaos opposits
    - Change Terminator armours and Icons
    - Change Voices

    Also does anyone know how to change the default Campaign colour scheme using cope toolbox?

    Looking pretty good, but did you notice that it looks like Cyrus's pants are poking through the armor? And personally I would add a little variety to each of the squads if possible. Meaning not have all of them be Aspiring Champions, so that you can visually tell them apart. Also does Cyrus shoot normal with the Shotgun and Sniper Rifle? Just curious because when I changed his animation to Space Marine, he shot them rapidly.

    Keep up the good work though man, doing good.

    I don't know with the shotgun but the sniper rifle fires at the right speed,
    I had to give him his pan't equipped because if I dont there this glitch where they all get same sort of Epic Backpack,

    Also when Tarkus's Squad is equipped with default weapons
    his squad has bolters but Tarkus has A Power Sword and Plasma Pistol like in DOW1 sergeants,

    It's kinda cool actually so I dont think I will change it

    So when you equip the Sniper Rifle in the equipment screen it only fires one shot? Ah that makes sense then, allow it slightly ruins the look of the aspiring champion.

    Yeah that is kind of cool, although it takes away his ability to assist with ranged damage a good amount since he's only shooting a pistol lol.

    Yeah, Can someone give me some idea's of what I should change cyrus into?
    I was thinking like of.

    Cyrus - BloodCrusher and Scouts - Bloodletters?

    Also I have no Idea how to change what the veteran space marines look like Tarkus get the Vet upgrade.

    I think im going to change tarkus's head into a Normal Aspiring Champion Head,
    I don't know what to do about thaddeus head, I'd like to keep Avitus with a helmet though does anyone have any idea's?

    I think you need to start dipping into actual 3D editing with Santos's Tool (is what I think it's called). And if you have problems or questions with that the person I would try asking would be Shuma, since he/she seems to know what they're doing when it comes to model editing.

    The obvious choice for me to change Cyrus into would be Heretics, but the problem is their animation since they twitch around a lot and that just doesn't fit Cyrus to me. So a bit of a tough one there and honestly seems to be a lot of people's toughest decision on what to convert him to.

    I think you should turn Tarkus into a Plague Marine, since they look different and have a relatively cool helmet. I personally think that all units within your squad should have helmets, so as to preserve the sense of personalization and because it looks badass lol.

    Good luck if you decide to start doing your own models.

    I'll pass on the modelling. but what do you think of this idea:
    FC = Chaos Lord + 2 bloodletter Minions?

    Also, Tarkus/Horus Vet Upgrade will turn them into plauge marine if I figure out how to change the marine with vet upgrades,

    Actually that's a pretty cool idea, it makes the FC seem like a actual chaos lord.

    Ok not a bad idea either, if you can figure out how to do that I would say go for it.

    I was gonna see if I could could change the name of the upgrade to mark nurgle and change the marines, also this blood letter thing is harder that I thought :L I basicly added a value to the units in a squad changed the ebps of the unit to Bloodletter but I'm just getting unviable people :L in battle the squad of 3 people and only the chaos lord is visible

    Your mod launcher is broken. It applies -modname Lords_of_the_Warp and then -modname DoW2.

    More bugs as I find them.

    EDIT: playing through the first Chaos Rising mission now . . . no changes from vanilla. Still using the regular dudes. Do I have to start a normal DoW II Campaign and import that into Chaos Rising?

    This mod is for the Dow2 campaign, I figured when i get to change the CR version I would change all the "Orginal Chaos" to space Marines

    Still doesn't work; using the regular Space Marines in the original Campaign as well.

    I checked my logfiles - definitely running Lords of the Warp. Can anybody else confirm that the mod works for them?

    EDIT: you messed up your module file, testing to see if I fixed it now.

    EDITEDIT: it's working, so here are some errors.

    1. You have no UCS file.

    2. Various clipping errors with model meshes: Tarkus'/Horus' shoulderpad - the skull head shouldn't be there, or at least it looks wrong). Also the Chaos Lord's/Force Commander's backpack - you can constantly see the golden backpack of the regular (loyalist) FC poking through.

    @ harrydude95: your module file needs fixing and you need to add a .ucs file to the mod if you want the No Range errors to be solved.

    Another clipping issue, when equipping Cyrus with Scout Armour wargear:



    Cloak, upper legs and the second shoulder pauldron under the Chaos version.

    Yeah, i noticed those errors i did A quick update on them about 5mins ago, The models are now fine

    Could you do a favour and post the correct module for other people to use?
    and I'm just gonna find out how to make UCS file

    Create a text file and save it as .ucs.

    UCS files are kept in "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\dawn of war 2\GameAssets\Locale\English" (replacing English with whatever your supported language is).

    Important note: you may need to save the UCS file as something beginning with "a", "b" or "c". I seem to recall there were problems with UCS files that started with a letter combination that was alphabetically higher than "DOW2.ucs" (so EDOW2 wouldn't work properly, but BDOW2 would).

    Make sure the space between the "2000000" and "Horus" is a tab space, not a normal space. Can't demonstrate on here as forums don't like tab spaces.

    I like the wargear icon changes. Got it working, a few graphical clipping errors:



    1. He (Tarkus/Horus) appears to be wearing two sets of armour.

    2. The Chaos Lord's armour has some clipping issue - the backpack is fixed but there are bits and pieces of gold glinting through his chest armour that I can't get in a screenshot.

    3. Cyrus/Asperion still has clipping errors when given a Scout Armour wargear that includes a cloak.

    The UCS file has to be placed in GameAssets/Locale/English. Won't work otherwise.

    I have been working on to fix that, I can see the UCS works which is great, the chaos lord thing is i think i gave them to sets of animator attachments, the head and armour, so i need to take run of them out a put it in default equipment which should get rid of the 2 armours effect

    as for the red icons, i used the wrong sized icons, next update will have correct sizes

    Edit, I still need to render the models for the scout armour to equip chaos armours, as do most of the other armours
