Also, note that this beta is an actual beta, not a marketing beta: the game is unoptimized and hence these are the recommended minimum specifications.

CPU: Core2Duo 2.4ghz or higher
Memory: 4GB or higher
Graphics card: nVidia 8800 or higher

evenif you do turn up the graphics to max, don't expect a decent framerate.

Of course, story of my life... They run the beta servers twice a week... And boyfriend was sick when I got up today so I went out and bought him medicine and powerade and such... Came home and read the forums a bit, went to my email and used the beta invite, and find out that I missed it today because I was out shopping

5.95 GB at the current time... But I've been sort of disappointed with it... It's not living up to the trailers for me so far.

EDIT: I should note that this is mostly due to the fact that the beta has only a very small subset of the game's features so far, at least, as far as I can tell. There's no open world, no thumpers to call in and protect while they mine, no dropships, no attacks by the chosen... So basically you run around one sort of smallish area killing the same 3 or 4 types of enemies over and over again (Less types of enemies than are shown in the PAX video) without any real direction, or you play PvP arena matches, which aren't at all interesting to me. So there's not much to do yet.

I don't think they're going to break my door down for mentioning which features (That were publicly shown on the PAX video) aren't in the beta yet... Especially considering the beta build seems to be only a subset of their internal build. And expressing my opinion of it is explicitly allowed so meh.

Also, we totally need like a private forum here for dolts who are in the Firefall beta to discuss it amongst ourselves.

And I'm thinking of hosting a private mumble server for said betadolts, since it would technically be an NDA violation for us to discuss it on the Relic mumble server (Unless someone wanted to give us a private channel on said mumble server).

I tried this for the first time. It's truly beta, because it is not optimized and runs awfully for me, not to mention the graphical bugs. Heh, guess I'll have to wait for a more stable version.

Yeah optimization doesn't seem to be high on their priority list, which is understandable, but i would still like an average framerate higher than 18, which is roughly what i'm getting now on the lowest settings.

Yes, it is shallow, cant deny that.
But as a first thing that stares at me when i visit that site, it screams of bad taste and immaturity, and it tells me i am not the target audience.

Im not looking for a game to play anyway, was meant just as a passing note of how unfortunate choice of one design element on a web page turned my "neutral" interest to no interest. Perhaps it has the opposite effect with some others.

oh that. no, the game is nothing like that. you're just looking at concept art and you should know by now that most concept artists are guys, and well, yeah.

You will not have time to look for boobies in the game. The game is not about boobies, and you should be ashamed of yourself by being discouraged by a single piece of concept art.

go watch the videos on youtube and/or gametrailers, in particular the dev-commented one from last years pax (iirc), which not only shows gameplay, but gives you an insight into the personality of the devs themselves.
