hey Shuma, wonderful work as usual =)
just wondering if I could ask for your wisdom for a moment :P
I downloaded the KorneLord and Plague Champion skins and installed them and I added them fine and it works fine, since I have Codex Mod I also modified the Codex.module file so they would show up in the mod as well. The Farseer works but the Korne Lord and the PC don’t show up, I tried fiddling around with the order of the files but nothing seems to change...
just wondering if you have any ideas?
That's because the codex mod has their own Khorne Lord and PC, the PC you'd have to wait for Gabe but the Khorne Lord should still replace the codex's mod Terminator Khorne Lord.
Only the Space marine Veteran Pack has portraits. Anyway:
Very early preview.
Shuma , in the future you made a terminator chaplain ?
I love Warhammer
Great Shuma ! I hope your Chaplain will be used in Retribution.
By the way, I suggest using a defaut feets from librarian. Because it look old and cool.
And Chaplain is alway kind of space marine who being worn old armour that still look cool.
ps. I personally like the way Relic make librarian feets because it look like it come from real table top model, why they dont do that to all undetail feets of space marine in this game at first place ?
Oh! forget something! I like your idea to use librarian left shouder guard on Chaplain.
Can you made it in plain shouder guard of Techmarine too when you do Techmarine ?
Just that Gold trim and normal purity seal&gold skull, no chain needed.
ps. just opinion, no need to worry.
Great Tactics come with great sacrifice.
I was wondering Shuma if you were going to give your Chaplain the full range of normal marine melee animations, such as melee_powerfist.
Chaplains do equip such weapons and i personally prefer to have a powerfist\lightning claw as they really complete the look of the armour rather than having a big stick.
So......... He should using Thaddeus animation then ?
ps. Make him use Thunder hammer in Termie, But change his Hammer to be some kind of big skull rod.
what model will this be replacing if any? my guiess is librarian but my librarian already looks awesome from your mods :P but still thinking about it, there are no other real options where to put him, great work anyways Shuma
I wonder if this will beat Darrius's Chaplain xD I am excited.
Modders will get two versions, one with the Librarian's loincloth and thus animations and one with the generic Space Marine animations, that and a jump pack and terminator armor with the Chaos Lord's animations.
Yeah it will replace the Librarian.
I've spent 3-4 hours on the texture for the face of this guy alone, thought you'd like to see some progress so here you go:
Will definitely have to make a hero out of this guy for Killteam... once I can get all this darn homework out of the way.
Killteam Hero Defense Mod
Meh, only the disapointing bit is that he replaces the librarian. Would have much prefered him to be the Apothecary instead :[
As for the visuals so far, neat.
Wow, great job there on the Chaplain.
Don't Chaplain skulls have fangs on them?
I began to modelise the iron kraken force commander helmet:
here is an image: http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.p...bu85pg&thumb=4
and here, the file:http://www.mediafire.com/?96j2d1xe9m51z1u
But, I don't now, how to aply texture and the rest, I have so modelise the helmet.
I modelised the helmet on blender and i have export him on 3dsmax 2011.
Tell me if i can do another thing to ameliore this helmet or to create another helmet
(Sorry for the faults, i'm very bad in english
Awesome, this guy will also get a jetpack and terminator armor by the way.
Hmm, that's a very good idea. I guess i'll do 2 versions.
Not from where i'm standing:
That's very cool but uh. Why?
Anyway, the chest piece of the Chaplain is done:
What's better than having a statue on your chest? I mean besides you know, 2 statues.
Exquisite looking Chaplain Shuma!!! Can't wait for that bad boy to get done.

Why? because you wanted to do helmet for the FC.
I am inspirated by your picture, in the precedent subject.
And, i'm not so good as you, and i begin to do the most easiest
I have modelised this to simplify your task...
you have so texturation to do...
But, if you want me to do another thing, tell me, i will try to do
what you need
I have begin the blood angel FC helmet

Oh i have no problem with you doing them, it's just that if you're doing it to make my job easier then it will not work, i'm making this for fun and thus i will make my own anyway.
Anyway, ran into a wall trying to export the Chaplain for a test drive, so here's another preview while i figure out what went wrong and finish the textures:
Durrrrrrrr, found the very obvious problem. Maybe i should stop working on this at 3 am...
Nah that'd be heresy and/or failure to praise the dark gods.
>Note to self:
"-- Unknown property: "filename" in undefined"
Means some of the texture maps have not been assigned a texture.
Well the Model and Textures are done:
The Gold bits are team colorable as can be seen here:
This guy will come in 2 versions, one will come with the tabbard loin cloth whatever is called thing and will replace the Librarian, the second will come without it and will replace the Apothecary.
Modders will have to wait a bit longer so that i can pack this guy with his Terminator Armor and Jump Pack in one .sga
His crozius Arcanum is next. But for now... Time to sleep.
Personally the eyes could do with being a duller colour.
Same goes for quite a bit of your recent work (the Warboss, the Chaos Lord) . . it's like they have headlights installed in their helmets
I am an Iron Warrior! Iron Within, Iron Without!
awww can the apoth still have the loincloth, i like it, its very Grey Knight/black templar looking, and damn does it look sweet But GREAT work shuma, seriously look forward to downloading this, and cant wait for the New FC helms can you do Pure helm first... ;D love the knightly look of it and the wings on the side, very similar to my own sketches
my guess is it has to do with the model animation and giving him the tabard on the non librarian model will stop it from being rank compatible.
i cant wait to toss away my apoth for the more awsome and kick ass Chaplin, i hope you change out his power axe for that crozius arcanum thingy
and our website at
I don't need to do your jo easier, but, i don't know how to do texture that you can change in dowII, i simply don't know how to apply texture in 3dsmax, and i never try in blender...
more, I don't know how to recompress in SGA filesthe .model files and the other files extracted of the SGA files....
But, if you need tell me how to do or to give links to learn, no problems
you want that i stop the blood angel FC helemt?

Well there's 3 simple reasons for that.
1: I remember people complaining when the game came out that the Marine's eyes didn't glow when the Tyranid's eyes did.
2: When i started this a lot of people asked me to make the eyes of some of the units glow, and
3: I was among those people
Can't do because
Unless Relic gives us an official importer/exporter animations will be a constant problem.
Never used Blender, but in 3dsmax to apply the textures you need to add a Relic Material to the model and then apply the textures, there are probably thousands of tutorials on the internet on how to use the materials of 3ds max.
As for how to recompress the .sga files here's a tutorial for that:
And feel free to make the Blood Angel helmet if you want, i just wanted to make sure that you knew that i'm going to make my own version anyway.
Now, back to the Chaplain. I've done 2 different Crozious Arcanums today, didn't like either of them but the third...
I think this is the one, what'd you think? Obviously i still have to make the textures.
Mhh personally i dont really like it
The wings seem to be too big for the whole staff
Perhaps look at the miniature chaplain again
This is what i have in mind for the crozioum
Coming soon to the sector near you!
Heh, fair enough Shuma. Personal flavour after all is, well, personal
As for the latest crozius . . . I dunno. I looked at it and immediately thought "Axe of Khorne". It also seems to be unnecessarily complex; either extend the eagle body of the crozius and remove the halo, or minimise the eagle body (make it somewhat texture-based like the Librarian's Force Staff) to emphasise the halo. The two together just overlap too much currently.
Just my two cents
Yea, I have to agree with Dofd: The "Wings" seem a little disproportionate for the shaft size. If you are looking for Crozius inspiration the Dark Angel chaplain Asmodai has the coolest one in my opinion: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/ca...Id=prod1060234
i like it generally, but i think the handle for it is too short, adn as stated before, disproportionate to the rest of it, also i believe the spikes to be too long, Chaplain Crozious Arcanums have short littel stubby spikes on the end. Othr wise i like it can we have purity seals added to it aswell? Chaplains have them everywhere
Hum, just a question...
It's normal that i don't have any texture when i import a dowII .model file on 3dsmax?
Permission to drool?
Where's the Bloody Taanks!!??
Great work as always Shuma But may I enquire as to how you got the raised section on the right shoulder pad (from the image point of view) from the armour of vandea to staying position while exporting? I've been trying for over a month to get that the work, including re-doing the bones to the left shoulder pad-but each time it has moved back to its original position on the armour of vandea upon opening the file after exporting...
As for the Rosarius, I agree with the points above about it having too many spikes, but otherwise looking fine.
ok, I really really really don't know how to apply a material or a texture on 3dsmax 2011...
i can't do this on blender because he don't detect the relics material...
but i don't understand how to do this on 3dsmax
I click on a slot, and there is a panel that open and, i don't now how to do here...
how to modifie the color of this slot? how to apply this with "a brush" on the object?
Yeah you're right, and i got tired of trying to reinvent the wheel so this one will be the final Crozious, see below.
Yeah, but then what would i use for the Dark Angel's Chaplain crozious?
No, to make textures appear you need to extract all shaders files from their .sga, sorry i don't remember in what .sga they are, second in the material editor you should see a button that says "Standard" click it and another window will pop-up, from that window you need to select Relic Material, from there on it should be pretty self explanatory.
Permission granted soldier.
Have you deleted the skin modifier before moving it? have you made sure that the coordinates below the animation timeline thing on the bottom are set on 0? Have you then re-added the skin modifier and added the left shoulderpad bone? Exported and assuming it failed redone the above steps?
Anyway, new and probably last Crozious:
and great for the chaplain.
i have modelised an apothecary helmet like grey knight for a friend of my dowII team (sorry but it's a french forum...): http://ephemeralangels.xooit.fr/t114...tres-heros.htm
and here is an image: http://img49.xooimage.com/views/e/8/...s-209a8cd.png/
@Shuma: The problem is the export isnt failing. Its exporting fine except that the moved piece is back in its original position. Also I have done all the things you mentioned and I just re did then to check seeing as you meantioned them and Im still getting the same problem-except for the part I want to move is moving froward from its original position but still isnt in th correct position.
As for your new Crozious, I believe it looks a lot better and would be good for a final model. However Im not too sure about the texture on the handle-it looks too orange atm-unless thats a default colour of course and isnt the texture.
It's the second.
And what i meant by the export failing was that if it was still not in the correct position, you re-imported it and repeated the steps, remove skin modifier, select the model you want to move around, select all vertices, set coordinates to 0, reposition, add skin modifier again.
Looks pretty cool already.
Anyway, the Chaplain is done:
He replaces the Librarian, and the Apothecary version will not happen because i then realized that since the Apothecary uses chainswords to give him a Crozius Arcanum i'd have to replace the Chainsword and then every chainsword user would have a Crozius.
Also, the Librarian's staff is unchanged since well, what would i do with it? It already looks like a Crozius, just longer.
Oh right almost forgot, modders will have to wait a bit longer until i make the Terminator Armor and Jump Pack.
For the apoth version, couldn't you just replace the power axe? The Crozious is a power weapon after all...
The moving of the armour piece still isn't working, but I'll continue looking into it and see if im doing anything wrong. Thanks any way

Great work Shuma, im gutted for the apothocary bt nere mind i personally wouldnt of minded a chainsword on my chaplain if it meant replacing the Apoth, a sacrifice im willing to make, but im using him for my librarian anyway whats next by the way? FC epic helms? or can teh be used on all commanders pretty please?
