    Thought I could share it with the rest of you, but most might not want this kind of mod for the IG. -hehe-

    Enjoying the work Shuma, especially the Iron Warriors helmet.

    In light of Retribution being released soon, and the only sign of Slaanesh being the noise marines. Would it be possible to make a Slaanesh upgrade mod? Now I'm not saying all the characters have remoled helmets and armour, but a bit closer to the Khorne/Tzeentch upgrades, you'know, glowing sign undernieth, increased stats (possibly corresponding to the speed of the unit in terms of CC and fire rate?).

    Please, update instructions about installing mod. You can put any SGA archive to GameAssets/Mods folder, and game will read them.

    So there are method to install those mods without editing DoW2.module

    Soon(tm), this may come as a shock to some but i do play the game. Although i've been getting my ass kicked The Guard are so squishy it's unbelievable, if you so much as sneeze on them they explode.

    Yeah those guardsmen look a hell of a lot better. Carapace armor and better heads, are immediately evident. Are you adding some custom guardsmen heads of your own?

    So, if you're reading this it means you're downloading one of this guys after the DA DLC came out, this only concerns you if you're after the freebooter download, as you know Relic added the Freebooters to MP for free in a patch, so what's different between mine and Relic's? Mine are team colorable and have rank unlocks, where as Relic's always have the same color scheme as those of the campaign and don't have rank unlocks(as far as i know), however Relic's start looking awesome where mine look crappy in the beginning and only get awesome in the end.

    I think you should replace them, but not make them Granadiers, since what I've come to understand, the Granadiers are their counterpart to Stormtroopers. And could look weird to have 2 different types of Granadiers then. So I say replace the Stormtroopers with Granadiers, and something else for the Catachans. To what I dont know. =/


    PS: Dont forget to swap the Inquisitor Stormtroopers with Kasrkins. And the Kasrkin helmet for Lord General. -hehe- ^^

    In option it says "You can save other's custom badge to your PC" but How you putting in a custom badge to begin with ?


    I start playing it and I quicky use "Chaos Rising Guardsmen" mod.

    When I see how rude they just do to our IG by using their old DoW model into this game.


    Seriously, They already got a good model of IG in DoW2

    They even have Keskins squad running around in single player campaign.

    Then all I got is same old face in entire squad ! See no Keskin too ! REEEEELIC !

    Awesome stuff Shuma, love the Guardsmen I wonder why Relic didn't use those models in the first place, they're so much better... any plans on replacing Stormtroopers with the old Kasrkin models as well?

    Another question: A while ago, you posted some extremely impressive armors and helmets for the Force Commander (it had eagles on the helmet and cape and loincloth on the armor, if I recall correctly) and his Terminator form, is there are way to get these for Retribution? The pictures are all down and the file names in your Space Marine download folder are all abbreviated, so I'm not sure which files I need. Any help would be appreciated

    There was also mention of Honor Guard Terminators, I'd be very interested in those as well.

    On the subject of Catachans/Kriegers: Personally, I'd prefer a coherent Krieger roster for better atmosphere. Catachans already seem out of place in the otherwise 100% Cadian faction to me. If you're going to convert all other units to Kriegers, might as well go all the way!

    BTW Shuma, I see on those Guardsmen mod pictures that you have the Gurren Brigade badge if my eyes dont fail me. If so, can I have it aswell? =D

    Also, I think that the Guardsman Mod you made might be useless in the future. Since I think most of that is Rank Wargear. I have seen guardsmen with googles on there helmets and extra stuff (like bajonets on the lasguns) in Beta, and my Heavy Weapon-Team got those ammo straps (also bajonets).

    Just wanted to say that. ^^

    Most of the Space Marine helmets don't work at the moment since most of them are FC helmets and thus replaced Vanilla Ice's head, the problem is that now the FC isn't Vanilla Ice so i have to fix them. And everything else is on hold 'till i'm done with the Death Korps.

    As for the Catachan Krieger thing. Well here's the thing, fluff wise there's no such thing as Krieg Stormtroopers, Stormtroopers are Stormtroopers and there are only 3 variations, there's Kasrkins which are strictly Cadian Stormtroopers, the generic Stormtrooper and the Inquisitorial Stormtrooper, the last 2 look the same with the exception of heraldry(ie Inquisitorial ones are plastered with Is and purity seals), i'm reading the Siege of Vraks and according to this Grenadiers are simple Krieger Guardsmen who shine in combat more than the average Guardsmen, so they're given some pieces of ceramite, a hellgun, a death mask and an Aquila on their helmet then they're sent to die, literally 8 out of 10 die in combat.

    So originally my plan was to leave Catachans as they are, use the common Krieger look for Guardsmen and come up with something new for Stormtroopers just for fun(since as previously mentioned, there's no such thing as Krieger stormtroopers as far as i know), now after reading a bit of Grenadiers it sounds to me like they'd fit with the role Catachans have in game, special weapons, go ahead and die to stop your army from dying too. In other words if i use Grenadiers for Stormtroopers what do i use for Catachans? Also:

    PS: Dont forget to swap the Inquisitor Stormtroopers with Kasrkins. And the Kasrkin helmet for Lord General. -hehe- ^^

    The Ammo straps are indeed rank unlocks, i'm rank... Uh... Something in the beta, the guardsmen with googles are the heavy weapon team guys, and they got their helmet replaced with the one with googles from CR, etc, etc. Rank unlocks concerning the armor and heads where changed too.

    Just out of curiosity, how does one implement randomization in squads? Or do you just make many different members, so one squad will "look" randomized, but every squad of that same type will have the same members? Or is there a way to truly randomize the models used in a squad?

    Randomisation is done by modding. Essentially you have entities (squad members) and it now basically says 6XGuardsman entity. You would have to create a different one for each random option, then change it so 1XGM1, 1XGM2, 1XGM3, ect.

    My knowledge about Krieger fluff is very limited unfortunately, wish I could add some more constructive suggestions. Still, I trust the final result will look fantastic no matter which path you take.

    Well, Shuma, if I may make a suggestion (and honestly, a request as well) for an alternative look to the Catachans (and please, feel free to let me know if you believe it's a bad idea)...

    I think you could get away with using Savlar Chem Dogs for Catachans. Here's why:

    Chem Dogs are a regiment on their own, much like Catachans, but because of their noteworthy abilities at fighting in close quarters and experience against Orks (similarly to Catachans), it would be easily justifiable that they would be "on-loan" in the same fashion as the Devils, especially considering just how expendable they are (while remaining extremely deadly, thanks to the liberal use of combat drugs). They're sneaky (Devils' ability to cloak in tier 2 with Sarge), they've been known to employ explosives to great effect, they could have the same resistance to flame weapons as they get just as much "exposure to Promethium" as Catachans, and best of all with their rebreathers they'd match with the Kriegers a bit better than the vanilla maskless Catachans.

    Interesting story from 40k canon concerning the Chem Dogs in a fight against the Orks... they once stole a Leman Russ, loaded it with high explosives, and somehow tricked an Ork Big Mek into "trading" for it. Sometime later, the explosion caused a chain reaction with the unstable Ork tech that managed to wipe out the entire Ork base. They returned to their own base, hailed as heroes by their fellows, and then promptly executed by the Commissar for deserting and theft of Imperial property.

    The best thing is that being ex-convicts (you can think of them as an entire regiment of Dirty Dozen types that have agreed to receive training and fight for the Emperor in exchange for loot and a sort of freedom) that mostly "appropriate" their gear from other regiments through shady means, you could model them however you like. Essentially the only running theme they seem to have in most artwork depicting them are bald heads (or short prison-appropriate haircuts anyway), an arrow tattooed onto their foreheads (marking them as former prisoners I would think), and clunky, often obsolete rebreather equipment. However they've also been depicted (mostly by fans I think) wearing regular fatigues, boiler suits, or dusters/trenchcoats. Basically, the sort of clothing you'd expect soldiers specialized in warfare in hazardous, post-apocalyptic settings to wear.

    Coincidentally I think you could easily get away with just retexturing a regular Cadian or Storm Trooper body and the Chaos heretic's head. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...s_portrait.png

    Maybe add some goggles if you felt inclined.

    Nothing wrong with the Heretic head, Existor, I just said that if he decides that the Chem Dogs are a good idea, he could probably easily make the head for the unit by retexturing the Heretic head. You know, add the arrow, make the eyes normal.

    I also mentioned the Storm Trooper body because, well, it kind of resembles a boiler suit. All he'd have to do is make it team-colourable, and voila.

    I mean, those suggestions are just for potential kit-bashing, if he decides it's a worthwhile idea.

    The story was actually about Jopall officers, during war for Armageddon, trading basilisk to ork warlord, blowing it up and wiping large part of ork artillery. But you almost got it right.

    Hey guys, I'm having a problem with the BeautyGuard.sga and the DSMVHelmet.sga files. I did what the installation guide showed but I can't launch the Beta. Whenever I click the Retribution Beta's launcher, Steam just takes me to the Dawn of War 2 Retribution Steam product page. Did I do something wrong?

    Nevermind, got it working now. I just had Steam verify the integrity of the game cache and it worked!

    No it's not randomization, it's just different entities in a squad. If Randomization is possible in DoW II like it was in DoW I i don't know how it works.
