    Btw since ive been reading this thread since like.....page 50. i thought it'd be awesome to help you guys out. I'd volunteer for ANYTHING you guys would see fit to drop in my lap, if your willing to teach me what to do. Only thing I'd avoid is art. I suck at that. Cheers! Also: noticed some textures looked high res. is this anything new? Also. The dark eldar and tau seemed a little OP'ed in my playthrough about 5 mins ago of a skirmish. That's all for now!

    Id imagine we could be like brothers or somethin. xD And i too worship this mod considering my playthroughs used to suck. too much of the same units over and over make Scarabs sad pandas. Also:Steel Legion is SL. looked like SL in abbreviations. Sorry for the confusion.

    Why is it i ALWAYS get my ass kicked on easy AI? Even with very limited stuff due to small battle settings etc. i don't remember the Tau being able to kick out 5 fire warrior teams in like 4 seconds and wipe the floor with any race of mine(re-reading this, it isn't JUST the tau. pretty much any race has me screwed over in about 3 mintues). I play casually not competitively,meaning i take my sweet time. And i always get torn a structurally superfluous new behind every game. Why T.T. Its like Berserkers on steroids. Its not a complaint but its just so dang hard.Thats All for now. As Always, Cheers!

    Super Edit:I wasn't trying to sound like a downer here just stating things i noticed like the AI tends to treat me like a prison...well, you know, and come up from the rear. Usually literally, which lags me alot. All i wanted was to get out there. But like your mother after drinking on a Sunday night, i started to rant like a mad loon about why the cake is a lie(it isn't),i mean,about something i love so dearly(the mod obviously). FINALLY -RANT OFF- So ill be shutting up now.

    @Yay scarabs: well, the easy AI can be nasty sometimes, but 5 fire warrior squads in 5 seconds? the only reason I could think of that to be possible is playing on "fast" gameplay and having 5 barracks. (which they mostly do)
    I always intend to play with starting army on, and sometimes also titan wars... because necrons are so slow, they could deffinately use some army to start with. you just need a strong force protecting your base. which could function as long as it isn't completely made of scarabs! Lol!

    Check your game \Dawn of War - Soulstorm\Profiles\ folder for files named KEYDEFAULTS.LUA
    Delete them all, and they will be recreated from your expansion_XP2 updated file

    @Yay Scarabs: I think you are exaggerating a bit about the Tau "Kicking your butt" on easy. You see, the ai does not attack in the 3 minute time. Their delay of attacks are within the twenty minute range, or maybe you are confusing us with something else. Easy was always easy, and apparently I can still beat them 7 vs 1.

    Also there is a quickstart option... ya know, maybe you don't use resources wisely?

    @ Yay scarabs: Another thing I just remembered. In \Apocalypse\Data\ai there's an AI Control Panel application which you can use to configure the AI to your liking.

    1.62.54

    Fixes:

    Fixed sync error
    Fixed fatal scar error (or so i hope)
    Fixed mod not shown in game manager
    Fixed Librarian keen vision (it can spot enemy units)
    Chaos brass scorpion requires chaos sorcerer reserch and a relic captured

    Balance changes:

    Dark eldar jetbikes are now more expencive and have alittle less hp.
    Tau commander can now spot (cloaked) enemy units.
    Increased hp for necrons Flayed ones, by 50
    Increased orks and Tyranids overrall melee damage, by 0.1
    Increased Tau overral range by 0.1 (not vehicles, neither drones)

    Misc:

    Hardcore windondition now decreases hp to 40% of the normal (before it was 10%)


    1.62.541

    Fixes:

    FIXED Brass scorpion and Mark of Tzeentch restricting it. (It is now tested, Mark of Tzeentch does not restric Brass scorpion).

    Balance Changes:

    Reverted Tau commander keen vision, it can no longer spot enemy cloaked units (he have a wargearfor that).
    Decreased Tau overral range by .05 (it was increased by 0.1 in previous patch, but that was alittle to much).
    Tyranids cluster spore now do less damage.

    Fixes:

    Fixed texture missing.
    Fixed random game crash (dont ask me how a friend of mine moved some files and now it wont happen)

    Balance changes:

    Spore cluster nerfted again.

    Misc:
    AI enhanced.

    cylarne, i didnt mean literally 3 seconds. now i see it seems like i did. but as i said. i play at my own pace. which apperently the AI likes to exploit. I have a full batrallion of necrons backed by a monolith and OFCOURSE millions of scarabs(so it seemed) while i only have a few groups of Noise Marines out. Sad me. But Why is the vanilla DOW easy AI so laidback and this is so hard? i feel like im playing vanilla hard AI....

    @ demetrius: You mean the Honor Guards that can be trained from the superstructure? Chaos' Daemonkin Obliterator for example. The Honor Guards can only be reinforced on some cases, as with the Honor Guard Possessed Squad, comes out reinforced to its maximum of three, but can be reinforced back if one of them dies.

    Well people seems like i was just taken in to the Apocalypse mod team, so yay for me, also i take over the public version of the UA mod, so as i see not so many were so happy with the changes planned i will try to:

    Take out less units from the game.
    Make it more newbie friendly.

    however the changes about roles of units will still apply, i will make the public more competitive oriented, no flying units will be in cause i hate buggy stuff (they will be in if i manage to make them no buggy)

    I recommand you to do this if you dont like the changes:

    stay with the current version of the mod.

    Play the soon to come patch in multiplayer cause really the mod will be really multiplayer friendly.

    AND REMEMBER PUBLIC WILL BE ALOT DIFFERENT FROM THE 2012 RELEASE, LETS SAY I WILL GIVE YOU A SNEAK A PEAK ABOUT THE GREAT BALANCE AND COMPETIVIVE GAMEPLAY YOU WILL FIND IN 2012 RELEASE BUT 2012 RELEASE WILL HAVE LOTS OF UNITS, NEW STUFF ETC.

    why are you taking out units?

    cause some units are redundant, some races have to many units and others dont, so balance must be applied in number of options to.

    will your changes apply to 2012?

    balance stuff maybe, but no restriction or gameplay change i add to the public will apply to 2012 release, (unless the change is loved by the player base)

    what do you mean by take over the public version?

    it means i will be developing it, Cylarne is the mod leader and main coder, but he will focus on 2012 release and as a second coder i will improve the public release.

    can you add.... "insert unit here"?

    i will be working on balance and bug fixes, so i will not add units, (eventualy i will be re-enabling some units)

    I hate your work, can you change the things back?

    well im doing my best to create a better mod, so if you dont like the competitive changes, please stay with the 1.62.542 version.

    player chose his best unit.too many units?In all races are spuads and vehicles limits so when enemy have more units he cant build more units than you.

    and Hanov: you have a good idea and i dont really think youre "ruining the APOC" with your changes (unless you're taking out the titans)

    For the flyers i think you are right they are buggy and does'nt work as i imagine flyers to do (even if it is 38000 years in the future) really looking forward to your patch/ version/ whatever

    and a final note please leave many units anyway (only take out the buggy ones and those who are really, really, really redudant)

    edit: well you can add units anyway right like demetrius said leave those races with a small unit pool or maybe even add some units.

    Indeed, all those units can be balanced. If they were not balanced to begin with than why did Games Workshop even made them to be playable? The best way i think is for Hanov to use the tabletop rules as a base reference source for units damage,movement,roles and whatever and he should tweak them to make them work in Dawn of War. This mod is for the fun factor,i dont give a damn if the units have 7.5 dps or 7.7 dps, hell i wont even notice it. Removing the units is also kinda unrespectful to the 3d modelers hard work. Pfft if i wanted a balanced mod i,d play Purgation of Kaurava or Dawn of War Pro but if i want some fun or if i want to mess around with buddies then i play this great mod that has LOTS of units. Variety just makes the game more fun and interesting. Oh and the argument "if you dont like it than play with the old version" is kinda obnoxious since as the public release leader you should be supportive of the community.

    Guys for gods sakes don't be whiny about Hanov's removal of units. I find it interesting to make it more balanced (for now). As it gets too balanced, more units will get added then balanced later. I will link the patch on the main download.

    @ hanov: While I'm not excited about the idea of having less unit variety, I'm also guessing that the remaining ones will be revamped, or rebalanced a bit to match the new changes (stats wise).

    I know many people dont like the unit remove, but the units will be eventually re-added 1 by 1 but all of them will be balanced. Also the UA mod will still have more units than vanilla and more units than most mods even after i remove units.

    PS of course Titans will not be removed.

    And remember that will not be the only change, i will add some other radical changes, but if im a person that like change i do not get marry with a single idea, if this up-comming patch is not liked by the player base i can change back stuff or try another ideas.

    So be cool and try the stuff before rejecting it.

    Predalienator, as i said im supportive to the community, but changes are already on the way im sure the changes will make the game more fun. and i quote you

    Yes it is but the aim to the mod is to be the ultimate mod, and that includes having better balance that POK or DoW PRO. This is a serious project and hard work is being done, so dont take our work as a "fun factor" This is the ultimate mod not a funny mod to mess around with buddies. (that can be done to but thats not the aim of the mod)

    These races who have more units than others are not stronger.Its just races diferents.Its more interesting to play then races arent similar.first race have more units, second race have more abilities, third race have faster units.Every race is unique.

    I don't know when the Tomb Stalker would be released, but I hope in the 2012 release. Daemons are most likely to be released in the 2012 release. (or so I think) I'm not going ito details about what XP3 is, but I think this will also be released in the 2012 release. but I can tell you that it is a LOT of fun! but also really hard on some points!

    Daemons and all other new units will be included in the future 2012 release. The Daemon race are currently being worked on, they must be THOROUGHLY tested until they become a well balanced race to go against all the other races of the Apocalypse. Further details are TOP SECRET and I'm prohibited to give anymore details, I'm not going to risk angering the Creator. If one wishes to know, I suggest you ask Cylarne, but he'll probably not tell you much either. However, the next official release for 2012 will kick arse. That, I can personally guarantee to you, our dear fans.

    EDIT: Just don't spam the guy with PMs aight?

    As for the thunder-hammers. I think the Vanguard Assault Marines has them, no? If not, I must be confusing this mod with Corncobman's. Meh, you already have Termies if you want thunder-hammers...

    @hanov, I am sure you will make the public version more awesome. Your changes are....unorthodox, for this mod at least. Although we strive to add as much fun-ess as possible, balance is definitely a must. So, I agree with your adding one new thing at a time. It will make progress slightly slower, but from what I gathered, you have your own team, which should make things easier for you somewhat. As long as you do not violate the terms of use that is generously provided by Cylarne, I support your mod 100%

    @Cylarne : I'm testing the mod you gave me, but I can only do a few races. I have my finals coming up and I should study my butt off for it. BUUUUT, I WILL get as many races as possible WITHOUT jeopardizing my education I'll PM over the test results once I am unable further my testing. I'm not retiring/taking a break/whatever. I'll just be a tad bit busy. I'll resume to being your full-time tester AFTER the 10th of October. For the time being, I'm testing it in whatever spare time I can salvage. I hope you don't mind.

    EDIT 2: The version you gave me breaks multiplayer....and, before you flip, it was between two of MY PERSONAL computers. It's...disappointing. I really wanted to be able to play in multiplayer. GAH!

    - When the Necrons' "Mass Resurrection" ability is used, honored guard units are also resurrected, resulting more than one to be in-game, simultaneously.
    - The Daemon Prince of Chaos Space Marines has far too many hps resulting imbalanced gaming (especially when the "heroes" win condition is enabled). Suggestion: Drop HPs to 0.85 of their original value.

    Hello. Are the squiggoths supposed to recover their health because I just can't kill them when they keep recovering back to full health. Is this a bug ?

    nkg114:squiggoth not recovering health fast. When you play against orks grechins(builders) repairing squiggoth.You dont see grechins(builders) because they are infiltrated.

    I'm not talking about the gretchins. I know that gretchin can infiltrate but they can't heal 3000 damage in less than 2 secs. And this happens with squiggoths that attacking my base which can detect infiltrated units.

    dude orks can do 3 squigooths maybe other came back and atacked you.Only revenant titan can repair 10000 himself very fast.

    @BIG BEAST: Uh, it's the same one cause I check its health bar. It did recover back to full health after about 2 sec or so. The only way to kill it is with a titan and 2 bandeblades ( fully upgraded) all firing at the same time. And that's kind of annoying when you have to face 3 at once.

    The Revenant ability heals by 9000 points to be precise (was like that the last time I checked). But I don't remember that automagically regenerating squig thing happenning to me (but when was the last time I faced orks...? can't remember).
    I second Termie Boreale is nearly unstoppable, specially when gains experience. But I rarely upgrade him to termie 'cause I prefer to spam with veteran Predators and LR's.
    Maybe he's that powerful to counter the giganticness of the Daemon Prince's power? They're both space marine commanders... or at least were.
