    I'm liking the new mod a lot, but a simple request, whenever I was playing alone or with a friend, we occasionally liked to screw around by building insane amounts of baneblades or superunits, and it was pretty cool. Could you perhaps make an game option that allows no unit caps once so ever on the super units and much more cap on the Infantry/Vehicle caps? I know it sounds kinda pointless, but I do miss said feature. Also another suggestion I think could help out is if you could introduce the stronghold maps into the mod, like FoK did with some of them I believe. Thanks for reading! (Sorry if any of this has been asked/suggested before, I don't have time to read all the posts since last time I was here D

    @ NukaBombCola: You mean XP1/XXP1 at least I'm mistaken. Afaik, since those were kinda broken, they were replaced with the "Total Destruction" wincondition on the game rules set before each skirmish/online game. I didn't use it yet though, so I can't assure if you can deploy the 100 Baneblades that Vance Stubbs never got to use on the campaign

    To introduce additional maps, you can get nearly any map you want. Just download any map for Dark Crusade/Soulstorm (both work) and put it on the following directory: Dawn of War - Soulstorm\BETA_Apocalypse\data\scenarios\mp.
    If any of the folders is not there ("mp" usually isn't by default), just create a new folder and name it accordingly. This way you can have practically any map you want. Also, If both you and a friend have the same additional map you can play online on it of course.

    @ PyskoTenshi: Yes, XP1 and XXP1, I did really like those, even if they were slightly broken. I've actually played with the Total Destruction gamemode in the new version, and it does not allow for no unit caps on certain units and such D:. Thanks for the help on the maps though!

    Tau Race Adjustments?

    tau_guidancebeacon_01 used as the flyers/titans bldg. Moving the XV-202 / barracuda / Orca to it. Also leaving space for Flyers in future? also the XV-101, Etc...

    LP used to build drones from the vehicle building. Sniper drones, combat drones, Possibly remora, or it could be sent to the tau_guidancebeacon_01

    This action would open up the vehicle bldg with 4 empty slots for further vehicle variants in future, some being developed already.

    If anything you're one of the few that have accomplished anything for the SS races.
    If you try and extract the sisters or dark eldar you will find lots of errors using our current tool set.
    Most DE / SOB model wont extract without errors. Most times not loading meshes, let alone animations.

    There is texture issues using dds DXT3 texture, causing issues when converting them to TGA, when trying to burn models as Cosmocrat found out.

    Vertex don't extract correctly for sisters and meshes have unattached vertex,,, IE skirts.

    Sister had more fluff from 2nd ed sisters, then witch hunters. So a lot of units are gotten through memory or my archives or from rp rules.
    Dark Eldar has limited fluff due to the race and the not so well designed dark eldar models of the day, as most I know of would not play dark eldar. Also being a juvenile race in gameplay terms lots of issues there.

    I would seriously like to know of anyone else doing dark eldar or sisters work for SS.
    As it is lonely and I have questions about errors I haven't been able to solve... solve yet.

    I know of Demetrius is trying DE / SOB work as I have seen his meshes.

    Otherwise then that I do not konw of any other, that have gotten new sisters unit into the SS Game.

    Hey, actually just got a new problem... Redownloaded the mod because it didn't work the first time, and now I have the "Fatal Scar Error" Whenever I play, and I re-downlodaded the mod afterwords about twice. Both times this problem occurred. Any ideas?

    WarSmith is an Iron warriors Classification.
    As described in the fluff around Iron Warriors.

    Hellsmith is an imperial armour classification.
    As described in the fluff around Imperial armour.

    I have attempted a Hellsmith last year and I should retry it and see how I go with new textures.
    Facebook like usual, maybe mod DB profile images.

    Err space marines already have a techmarine.
    Techmarine should be in your hq next to your chaplain.

    @ NukaBombCola: Are you sure you're installing version 1.62.59 (inside of the "Complete Collection Downloads (Full versions)" spoiler on the downloads page) and patching that to version 1.62.6? Also, do other mods run ok? Maybe it's a problem on your Soulstorm install itself.

    P.S.: Do you get the fatal scar error right the moment when the game starts or after a while?

    @ PyskoTenshi I'm downloading the complete collection, putting it in the folder, patching it to 1.62.6, and then running. The Tyranid, and Inquisition Demonhunt work fine, but both Apocolypse mods (New Races and no new races) both crash the instant I press the start button on the loading screen after loading.

    Crash as in crash to desktop or the fatal scar error you mentioned? Not the same thing.

    Flyers hey, why are they hated so much, I think it is because they really havent been included in 40k besides epic... Till imperial armour came around.
    Super heavies / Titans have been in there since armorcast days, But flyers are another whole new challenge to try and get them playable in game.
    Flyers in Final Liberation we acceptable, not too powerful, yet could deal with spot fires on the battle field. and when they are shooting at your sacrificial flyers other units are not getting damaged.

    If you use flyers as damage devices, soaking up damage just in front of your ground units you will see that they vecome effective, also their speed is good for scouting out enemy positions and quickly luring the enemy onto your main guns, tanks/troops/turrets, giving you that extra survivability to ground units.

    I used to hate flyers, but now they are great when used correctly, also I used to hate tanks as they weren't as resiiliant as troopers with their reinforcing and hvy weapons upgrades. You had to use a builder to repair them, taking away from your build commands.
    but now all vehicles are sacrificial to me, as Builders should be building and stuff. That makes flyers my best choice for vehicles due to their capacity to get to the conflict point without intervening terrain.

    Hehehe!!! I came up with this a few month ago. We discussed it with Chiu, Jones and Cylarne and decided to make a new Win condition specifically allowing this!!!
    It would be one of the surprises we have kept for the Final Release.
    ...but now the project is paused, so the future of this win condition is uncertain!!!

    There IS a way of doing this with the resources we have right now, but it's quite uncomfortable and you'll need background music tracks for every race of course.
    Download the Relic Audio Converter tool, convert all the audio files you want to be in-game as background music and place them in \Dawn of War Soulstorm\*mod name*\data\sound\music (create folders if needed).
    Then go to \Dawn of War Soulstorm\*mod name*\data\ and create a new .txt file. Change it's extension to .lua and name it soundplaylistmusic (resulting in soundplaylistmusic.lua). I should note that UA already comes with this file.
    If you're changing the background music for UA, you can simply rename the entries with the name of your files (and add/remove entries of course). The .fda extension mustn't be included on the playlist entries.
    Now, to have background music according to the race you're playing you can have a total of nine (or eleven for XP2) soundplaylistmusic.lua, each with something like ".sisters" or ".eldar" at the end when not in use so you can keep them in the same location. Each of those playlists would contain references only to the songs fitting to the race they "belong" to. So, before starting a game you simply enable the playlist that fits with the race you're about to play.
    As I said, it's an uncomfortable process (mostly because it must be set up manually by renaming two playlist files each time) but it should work.
    Ah! I just remembered this: It doesn't work for me on CornCobMan's fun mod. I get a beep the moment the game starts and no music at all.

    @ RT2: :drools: Having a weakness for the awesomeness that the Adeptus Mechanicus are made of, it has my seal of approval already.

    Its role in-game is still up for grabs considering its size is about 1/2 of a normal 1vs1 map. It likely would not be used as a Low Orbit Battle Fortress due to its insane firepower (TigerShark would be better here).

    A colleague of mine did it back in 2008 but was deemed unusable as it was too complex I didn't want to bring it up as, frankly, it was a bad time for DoW1 modding for me.

    @ demetrius: did you delete the non necessary polys, like the video of the sisters gunner I sent you?
    Like the end of the tubes we cannot see?
    tubes are 5 or 6 sided?
    There are no double sided objects?
    the firing end of guns are flat and the texture does the shading to give the effect of the opening?
    Intakes are flat with textures over them for the intake visual?
    the rear door is flat and a texture gives the 3d effect?

    Just thoughts man.

    Oh and i got the Ophanium under 10k, Might possibly be able to get it down to 5k, so i don't need to use the sisters gunners as fx loaded ingame.
    Been thinking about having the sisters load in the open bay ingame as fx to give it a loaded / unloaded capacity.

    Okay, I have a noob question, having just installed the mod today. I have searched through various threads and have yet to find an answer.

    I often enjoy watching the AI battle it out by themselves. Previously I'd do this with the Cheat_killself command and sit back. However, this does not seem to work within the mod. I am wondering if there is a sort of spectator mode, or a workaround, that would let me just watch the battles. This would make and already stunning mod even better for me, and maybe five other people.

    @Psikotenshi thanks for the tips. Never do that but i think i'll give it a shot.

    For base-resource, i think vanilla version of SS has one music for each race already. you can notice it when you go to army painter, choose a race or simply last race you have played with. This will make the hero of that race appear on the main menu with specific music. you'll notice it. That's one track already (for each race except XP's)

    for the next tracks, one easiest source to hunt is on youtube. They've made lots of "tribute" to each race. When the songs seem to fit the mood, just take a credit and put the audio on the list. I dont know the other sources but i think many of em available on the net, as DoW junkie are swarming everywhere



    anw, i just found somekind of codex called "imperial armor part 1" or something like that, and i smiles myself when i found UA-IG tanks on that heap of names along with its each addons (like we can found in the game) its very accurate. I just curious about names that not yet available in UA though..not to mention the other races as well

    Damn, just this UA will make a giant universe pushing the limits of the dow-SS engine one day.

    @demetrius: You only need to do it if you have to reduce polys/surfaces man.

    @mcdimm: There are roughly 15 Imperial Armour Books, Showing lots of Big Big stuff for 40k.
    Imperial armour volume 1-11
    Imperial armour 2 - Early alien races book,
    Imperial armour apocalypse 1... 2...

    Apocalypse / apocalypse reloaded are also good books to look at also.

    If you are lucky you might find the Armorcast rules online for the old skool Big stuff.

    Any Epic Books will also show large miniatures(oh the paradox).

    There is a lot of material in my mind from teh last 20+ years,

    Which have some 3D printers available for non professional users with actual "reasonable" prices for that technology :P. If you have enough cash in yer pocket you might think about getting one of these someday ^^.
    I think that Catwell has some experience in rapid prototyping (from what i've heard) in this as well, so you might ask him if he could 3d print some stuff for you (I guess the money is well spent then ^^ even though it might be cheaper than buying a 3D printer by yourself :P).

    Hey, I downloaded the mod correctly and installed it but I'm still having hotkey issues and the tooltip No Range issues. Can anyone give me a step by step guide in getting rid of these? Idon't think I'm following the directions correctly.

    I'm using the Steam version of the game in case that's relevant.

    @ Icezera: The No Range errors can be easily be fixed by going to (soulstorm dir)\BETA_Apocalypse\Locale\English and copy all files, then make a new folder in the "Locale" folder named as your language is called in English (like in \DXP2\Locale if I remember correctly) and copy the UA .ucs files there. Now you should have the correct UA tooltips (in English though).
    About the hotkey issues... More details on that?

    since no one else will answer ill take a stab; i to love watching ai battles, what i do is find a nice wide open 8p map and try to make my self spawn as far away from th other teams as possible, i build no troops or buildings and just watch, its about as close as your going to get

    Also, I did move the file .ucs files into /DXP2/Locale/English but there's no change. I mean, my system locale is English (US) and I downloaded the regular English version off Steam. That should be the file path, and yet, I'm still getting these No Range errors. The 2nd last unit in the Dark Foundry is pretty much COMPLETELY No Range errors.a

    ...Sounds like an issue. I have not personally tested the hotkeys yet, so I cannot be sure.
    I could have a look at it, but with Cylarne absent, not much can the rest of us do.

    Man, this question is beyond the scope of the UA...
    In any case, it is easy, but you need to have basic Attribute Editing skills, to do it.
    But since "it is only for personal use" ... and if you DESPERATELY want to do it ... I will ask Cylarne for permission and I will tell you how to.
