    ProfMan96 while they have less they are just as strong as the space marines and mostly use sneak attacks to beat spacemarines dont they????? from what i have read in the books anyways it is mostly this way anyways.....

    to bad the game wont allow us to make the night lords be night lords with individual units having more than one heavy weapon and have the health of space Marine squad

    @dante : well, they are technically speaking, space marines. That, combined with the infernal powers and buffs that their GODS "gift" them should make them better than your average Space Marine. Heck, some of them are waaaaay older than most SM veterans. (they are surprisingly healthy.... )

    depends on what books you read, if you read a Space Marines based novel, of course it will be in favor of the mehrines. Try reading dark disciple and it's....series :brick:

    I thought nightlords are just raptors with bat-like wings.....they could just mix jetpacked raptors with winged raptors....that would look more chaotic

    First off i want to say that that this is one of the best mods ive everver played and that i really respect what you have done so far.

    Now i have a few suggestions and two questions -

    First off im surprised that no one has sussested a nurgle plague reaper yet : slow moving, hevily armored anti infantry tank mark of nurgle makes it even stronger and slightly faster, undivied does this to a smaller degree

    Second i have three upgrade suggestions for the orks
    1. The red one goes fasta! - all ork vehicles gain slight speed increase
    3. Don't feed me to the sqigs - [i got the idea for this one form a 40k comic, featuring gorgutz ], fearful of what would happen to him if he fails the nob yelss at his squad to fight harder
    2. Orks can loot anything ! - increases the damage of lootas and flash gits? but mainly allows access to select upper teir units :
    - the looted bane blade
    - A looted monolith
    - And my personal favorite : a looted carnifax

    And finally i have two questions -
    1.Do you guys plan on updaing or redoing the kustom stompa?
    2.Is it possible to make an all ai fight on this mod, if so can some one tell me how?

    @inharnt : I think having a looted monolith is a bit...much...dont you? the squigs one is funneh

    yes, the team is planning on "redoing" the kustim stompa. The model in-game is currently a place-holder. Hopefully it will bereplaced in the next public release

    I dont think having an all ai fight is possible. The closet you can get is joining an online match as an observer. If not, you could just blow your base up and click examine map (or something like that) and see the ai butcher each other (makes it fun screenies moment)

    @ProfMan96 the space wolve omnibus i read described the nightlords as armys unto themselve's with each one having belts and belts of ammo and grenades wraped around them with heavy bolters in their hands ready to kill as many people as they could before they died

    O no no i was rushing cause i had class so i didnt put full effort into my post but i have cool back stories for the looted monolith and carnifax so bear with me and see if this seem buyable.

    -Looted Monolith:
    During a fight between a newly awakned necron force and a ork waagh, the orks destroy the energy power core for a restored monolith causing it to shut down, after defetating the necrons, the boss has his mekboyz build power generators to repower the monolith, only enough energy could be produced to move the monlith but not enough to repower the weapon systems, which where replaced by big shootas and zap cannons ("main cannon" replaced with a lobba?).
    The result wars a hevily armored transport able to carry an exceptionally large number of boyz.

    -"looted" Carnifax:
    This carnifax was cut off from the hive mind due to damage to its synaptic link causing it to go feral like the tyranids on the judgement of carrion, the orks find this beast and decide to "tame it", they capture it and enchance its combat ablity by adding dreff dread arms and other bitz , heavy close combat unit

    - looted baneblade
    Like the looted tank this banebalde was captured by the orks all the bits that they added to make it more orky has increased its armor futhermore a majority of the power for the engnie has been routed to the guns to get more dakka resulting in less speed and slow turn spped of both the tanks and its main gun

    Also im glad that their redoin the stompa cause no offense but it look like someone tied to orkify a snowman and it needs a shoota not a grenate launcher for a gun, squigs are fun but their very weak in my opinion compared to other titans, haven't tried the gargant squig though

    How does my other suggents sound to you guys though? kepping my fingers crossed for plague reaper

    But do you think ALL Orks looting tanks is a bit too much? + overbalancing and that we can't have. Maybe I'll give this ability to just Lootas or Kommandoz.

    Did I hear a beta release? The answer is not to the public. If you want to beta test, pm Profman. BUT you must test it and be good at it.

    The Beta is finished yes, but I'm having upload problems. The first people who are getting the beta are the GREAT 3, Profman and SoulDrinker to make sure that the mod is best for testing. Then I'll give further instructions later on, if I figure out what is wrong with the upload progress.

    @Cylarne - dw about it mate just take your time xD

    @inhartsipole - instead of having set units. Maybe having a 'unique' squad of lootas that have the ability to take over vehicles when they are low on health. This could include the monolith and carnifex but when its taken over it goes up only to say half its original health because the Orks don't understand wtf they are dealing with. Maybe also has a decreased rate of fire to compensate the awesomeness of the ability.

    What you guys think of that?

    Also @inhartsipole due to the fact that chaos is a single race atm its hard to give them every unit from each god because then it just becomes to much. So atm they have the plague marines which are probably the most noticeably as well as the.........those green demon things.......idk what they're called but them aswell as the Great Unclean one. So to get another Nurgle thing would through the balance of units atm considering the player has to choose one mark you think nurgle should have an extra unit to everyone else xD

    So in future I'm sure they will eventually be in but for now its a balancing act of not making one faction too powerful and not making one sub faction of chaos too powerful or have more than the others. Understand?

    Which beast you mean? That red one looking like scorpion? Well it's name is "Brass Scorpion" the last ones are the new(?) bloodletters DoW II has also. For the Birds for dark eldar i dunno where they come from.

    Also good news here me can now get the newest Autodesk products for free! I just registered in the Autodesk education community and got bashed be the huge payload of stuff i can now access for 0$! Damn i guess ya can imagine how happy me is no .
    So first act of duty was downloading MAYA 2011(!) cuz i had good experience with PLE (Personal Learning Edition which can be loaded for free same as GMax in order if some of you want to start some modelling; getting basic skills) as it has some epic comfort options 3DS MAX does not have till today! I have also the option to get Autodesk Softimage but i prettily dunno anything about that so me is driving now a 3DS MAX 8 / MAYA 2011 combo which should make my life easier then hopefully...

    As there is a lot of pics/stuff to do for me then but fortunately i've got my modelling-team around me. So go cheers to MonkeyXXL, RT 2, Master Necro and Andrei335 ->(Him for some volunteer helping me with tomstalker animations). So i can assure you that the next release will be truly MASSIVE believe me as i've looked into the abyss of awesomeness and you won't believe me what my eyes have seen yet .

    So keep on posting the good ideas/pics as we're REALLY checking every idea so far as we can in order to not miss any cool idea of you guys!

    I wouln't say tranformers/gundam because that design is very similar to the penitent engine and its designed to go up agaist upper level deamons.

    Now in my mind i dont feel that the chaos scorpion unit isnt very chaosish, however if you add some gauss flayers it could fly for a necron unit, fits the egyptian theme well

    THe soulcrusher looks like a defiler V 2.0 now featuing more deamon

    Ok, fans, team. The Apocalypse mod is now sleeping.

    As of yesterday (3/23/11) at 2:45 pm, I was at college and needed to leave for the dentist to pull out my wisdom teeth. I was late for the dentist appointment in college packing up my stuff (Laptop and everything with it) in a rushy mode and as I walked out the door in a hurry, I've forgotten my laptop recharger!!! I just found this out last night as I was unpacking it and playing on it and such as I used the battery to about 25%. I was thinking to recharge my laptop at a low rate with my charger, hence me not realizing I didn't have the recharger. So as of right now, the laptop is off with 25% battery left and the only copy of the latest mod is on there! I have no idea how long it will take to upload the mod from the laptop to an 8GB flashdrive, but the laptop has about 15 minutes of power left.

    I'm going in regardless, it is a life or death situation. I'll further report if I have the mod completely.

    But. This computer I'm using right now is a crappy one and does not contain Dawn of War or Corsix or... nothing. So I can't work on the mod, Krronus can't and right now the mod is sitting ducks. Mod is sleeping as COC 2 can't work on it.

    We might skip past 1.63 and just release 1.7. 1.7 will not be released until everything is flawless and as perfect as it could possibly be. I'm talking campaign, most placeholders removed, all super structures finished with animations, every ui text and every hotkey are keen. And even beyond this will a 1.63-69 will be unsatisfactory. I introduce to you in time 1.7 as perfection. If you don't believe me then, well the mod won't be released at all. That serious.

    By the order of Krronus, the Doomsday Phalanx and everything else related to it are now licensed with the Aeonic Orb.

    are you going to change the honourguards in the campaign? please do that, I hate some of the current races honourguards. take chaos for example; there are only three usefull squads, and the rest are "Aspiring Chamipons", or simular weak units.

    I second that! most honor guards are just ridiculous. I mean really, useless. The whole point of honor guards is that they're supposed to protect the Leading commander, and I just can't picture cultists filling that role My humble suggestion would be to replace them with late tier units. like, rubrics, havocs, sorcerers, terminators, predators, etc. and maybe (just maybe) add a titan once you defeat your nemesis. For example, as Chaos, once you've conquered the Space Marine Stronghold, you get to recruit a daemon prince in your honor guards. crazzy though though. and might be unbalanced

    ah! ProfMan96... I like that idea! but to balance it, if you defeat an enemy and get a titan for it.... then there stronghold should also contain one! like, if you attack the Necrons, that they use the Doomsday Phalanx! if possible.

    The Chaos Honor Guards and Space Marine honor guards already have a maximum loadout of 3, what more do you want? They're not weak anyway. Besides, in the campaign of version 1.7 there won't be any "honor guards" instead there will be normal squads instead of "weak" meat shields. Is that alright?
