    Static defenses?

Anyone know what kinds (if any) static denfeses we might see.
will it be the traditional machine gun/missle or perhaps lasers?

I wonder if you could deploy them in the field. say at a pass to permently hold an area aginst orks?

We will probably see a las cannon and probably a extremely expensive and probably a massive power sink a plasma turret aswell for every like 1000 forgeworlds their must be one that still produces plasma cannons but their quite powerfull i just hope this dosnt end up like 40k tbt
Where theres a plasma cannon for almost every marine it seems

I alike how Relic is allowing marines to dig foxholes.
    - I imagine that while unable to move they would take less damage/ be harder to hit.
    - great for last stands when your backs aginst the wall or for fortifying a position aginst pesky Orks.

Well, SM have twinlinked heavy bolters, and TL Lascannons would also make sense. Plasma cannon? I dont know. Chaos will probably have TL Autocannons as their 3rd defence, or instead of the bolters if there are only 2 defences apiece.
Orks'll have some insanity, probably a tower of rocket launchers and a bunker bristling with big shootas!

Digging of foxholes looks strangely "out of personality" for the SM. I mean, they have "chapter colors" rather then camo: they want to be seen. They want to be shot at, and then they take cover? It doesn't matter. It just feels different is all.

Maybe we can get Tarantula sentry guns as well? Servitor follows around carrying one and then emplaces, then vanishes or something...

Who ever said SM want to be shot at, they use cover all the time and foxholes would just be something utilised for base defence. Space Marines take cover when needed therefore its not violating the fluff. SM also use bunkers etc.

They don't have colored armor because they want to be shot at, they have it because they're not supposed to be stealthy or covert units...

I can see it now: "Brother-Captain, the vile Chaos Havocs have us in their sights! But don't worry, we're wearing ghille suits."

Seriously if space marines didnt use cover theyre would be no more space marines today wanna know what happenes to space marines that dont use cover think about the 2 legions that like got compeltey destroyed (or almost destroyed?) in the horus heresy when they were landing on that planet

The legions weren't destroyed, only severely damaged, and they were landing on Istvaan. And there were three- the Raven Guard, Salamanders and Iron Hands. The landing forces only got annihilated because their six supporting legions turned traitor and hit them in the rear quarter.

Think of SM chapter colours as heraldry rather than a uniform as such, which is why theyre not camo. SM are not necessarily an overt force, if they dont want you to know theyre there before they hit you, you wont. They make use of cover like anyone else (well, when theyre thinking rationally, so not raging Blood Angels then!).
Im still a bit surprised about the foxholes, but then they all would have basic battlefield engineer training, and the Death by Moonlight scenario has them in foxholes.

Don't forget the Blood Angels were there to a lesser extent.

Space marrines like to strike fear into their enemy and doing so with brute force, they want people to run in signt of their chaptor colours.
