OK, I honestly have no idea where to put this. But thought this might be best.
Note to moderators: Before moving this to The Armoury please read what this is aboutAnd how can I add a poll to this thread?
Some of you might know about Cold of War, some not. But I have come to a crossroad. So you can maybe consider this kind of an advice seeking/poll/market research thread.
Here are the options I'm looking at:
1. Cold of War: Shattering Fronts - This mod is set in the future in a new Ice-Age. The world's alliances and countries are completley different than imagined and a massive war is raging for survival. I continue with this option and make this mod.
2. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R Project - This mod is set in a post-apocalyptic situation. There are safe zones all across the world. The outside world is riddled with mutants, anomalies and Stalkers. Several factions have emerged here and there and often skirmishes erupt between them. Based on Metro 2033 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Or I can take this option and leave Cold of War. I need a better name though.
3. Do my best to try and create both mods.
4. Stop modding and forget about it. And rather just do little side things.
What are your interests? And what would you guys advice me to do?

). Your a good example of how to stick with it, learn everything you can from the forums, and learn everything you can from experimenting in the Mod Studio (learning by trial and error). But it's not only the lack of base coding skills that cause mod concepts to quietly fade away, its that many of these mods require making much of the models, etc. from scratch, and thats a huge amount of work, the community sees that and most avoid getting involved in it. Pretty much everyone here is caught up in their own projects and don't wish to get involved in some other big project. The best way to get things done is to get started learning the ropes both on these forums and in the Mod Studio, learn everything you can and put it to use in a more humble project. Eventually you'd become known around here and start to make contacts, and joining an established mod (involving a number of known modders) will also help you learn more and gain closer contacts. Eventually you'll have the skills and the contacts to make your grand mod concept a reality, and nothing will be able to stop you.
